Visitors

Angelin, Kar Pei, Michelle, Audelia, Janice and Yi Zhen came to Disted last Tuesday! Click on the links to see what they have to say about Disted college. (:

Anyway, to save you the trouble, I shall summarize their main points.

1. Disted has a huge parking space. Unlike Inti's tiny basement. Bwahahaha!

2. Disted's library is not as nice as Inti's. (I shall visit Inti to prove this point)

3. Disted's classrooms are so old. (1980s building, can't help it. It's heritage :D)

4. Disted's corridor looks haunted. (I do agree, bad lighting.)

5. Disted's drawing board is so cool. (Inti tak ada, wakakakaka!)

6. Disted's food is ... just as good as Inti's, I suppose.

7. Disted's students love to stare! XD

8. Disted's students are weird.

The Awesome People I

Name: Audelia Choo
Age: Just turned 17 five months ago
Detailed Descriptions: A very blur person and usually responds with a 'Huh?' which stirs anger in most people (especially when they've just spent 10 minutes telling her something). Although a very laid-back person as she'd been for the past five years, she secured straight 1As in the SPM examination.
Favourite phrase: Huh?

Name: Cheng Kar Pei
Age: Just turned 17 last December
Detailed Description: A very fashionable and up-to-date on almost everything in the world, this girl owns a number of high-tech gadgets! She's also very kaypo, which coincides with her initials, KP! And lately, she has been found to be very observant. CKP is widely known in our class as the photostating ambassador, but sadly, this year she surrendered this title to someone else, also known as co-op. XD Also a straight As student, this one.

Name: Aw Yi Lyn (might need to add in a title in the near future i.e. Tan Sri, Datuk etc.)
Age: 48 i mean 18 as of 2009
Detailed Description: This girl dreams of becoming a politician for the past five years, and realized it's far too impossible, and is now waiting for the call of countless scholarships she'd applied. Currently working as a bartender, I mean juicemaker I mean basically she has to squeeze lemons to make juices in El Mondo's Pizza @ E-gate, this girl has an appetite of 5 lions. Her all-time favourites are CGL's Char Koay Teow, TFS's Char Koay Kak and anything cheap and good. This future lawyer obtained straight 1As and thus her wish to hold our CM's smooth hands has been fulfilled.

Name: Choi Xin Ling
Age: 18
Detailed Description: This girl is very hardworking (Yes, she scored straight 1As) and diligent. She plays the viola for MPYO and is currently studying her brains off for her mid-semester exam. Heehee... Also, this girl eats a lot during recess, as many as 5 different types of food! :-O She's going to be an awesome doctor in the future!

Name: Joyce Teh Shu Mei
Age: 18, soon.
Detailed description: An owner of a variety of pets, ranging from reptiles to mammals, this fun-loving and sociable girl secured a string of A1s in the SPM examinations! Throughout all these years, we've been through ups and downs together. Suffice to say, our friendship still remains! And group outing is always fun with Joyce around. (:

Part 2 will be up in a week!

P/S: Angelin, I didn't forget about u la, k?

4 Months

For the past four months, I've learned that...

1. You can't trust too many people, and, at the same time, do not expect too many people to trust you all the same.

2. There are problems inside the problems. And usually the problems come from ourselves.

3. It's not so good to be too honest.

4. You can only please so many people.

5. Ignorance is bliss.

6. Prioritizing is very useful.

7. It's good to mind your own business.

8. People are selfish actually. Although we can't see it.

9. People who think they are likeable, are actually not much so.

10. Certain instructions are misleading, they are better off not told.

Serious Music

Gahh! It has been a week since I last updated, but anyways... I'm only here if I've something to say. It's not like everyday I have new updates or interesting events to keep my mind working along with these fingers to actually type something here.

____

I'd discovered my buried interest in serious music a.k.a. classical music eversince watching Nodame Cantabile and (with gratitude) knowing an awesome friend. In actual fact, classical music is everywhere - In adverts, as background music of your favourite TV drama to name a few. It is so familiar that sometimes we might not even notice. For example, Strauss' Du und Du - Waltz Op. 367. This title may seem so distant and alien but you've actually heard of it countless times, mostly in ballroom dancing scenes. And if this still doesn't ring a bell, this classic marvel has served its purpose in a number of the Tom and Jerry cartoon episodes.

And also, Turkish March by Mozart has been improvised into various versions - the latest one being techno. Even the most popular number by Bizet, Carmen - Habanera is adapted into a Chinese song! Scene from Act II of Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky is horribly adapted into a pop song, sung by the popular female band - S.H.E..

And one of the default ringtones in Samsung mobile phones is actually Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite: Waltz of the Spring.

These are only a few from the lot that I can actually name. Set Jazz aside, classical music is what I'm listening to now. =D

Happy-o-meter reads: 7/10
Currently listening to: Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite - danse Des Mirlitons (good stuff, this one)
