Roadtrip...

Sunday night, one week prior to Chris' return to work, he talked me into taking a roadtrip to the Grand Canyon...the next day! I was actually pretty easily swayed-that afternoon he had finished cleaning out the wall-to-wall crammed closet I had been asking him about for almost three months. He got vacation, I got organization-two happy campers, one sweet life.

Our Baby Boy

THOMAS ANTHONY, 8 lbs. 13 oz., was born on January 7, 2010 to our dazzled family. What a sweetheart!

There is nothing like having a newborn in the home again.

Chris and Tommy have really bonded during the three months maternity leave he took-yes three months!

Ricky has taken quite well to Tommy. He plops the binkie in his mouth, a toy train in his hand and grabs five diapers when he needs changing. Life is sweet...

Hangin' Out at the Zoo

We visited Chris' sister, Rebecca, and fiance, Doug, in Philadelphia last weekend. They had an engagement party at Doug's parents home in Morristown, NJ. We had a great time at the zoo in Valley Forge, near Rebecca's place.

Ricky's 1st Birthday

It's tradition in the Paterson family that Grandpa DeCastro gives the very first haircut on the first birthday. Ricky did not enjoy the occasion.

Ricky's birthday party here with Aunt Rebecca.
Michelle with best roommate, Angie.
Meg graciously helped cousin, Aidan, along with others in the birthday hat making.
Ricky with cousin Donald, Pa, Aunt Chrito, and Lola Soly.

Lovin' the birthday attire and then too tired to eat the cupcake

Ricky is now one year old and full of energy. He took his first steps this week and is getting braver in walking every day. His favorite thing to say is "Uh-oh" after something drops or shuts. He is adorable with his new haircut that will hopefully keep him cooler in our normal 115 degree weather this summer. He is now addicted to goldfish crackers after a big "fish" birthday party. We had jelly-fish sandwiches, gold fish crackers in sandbuckets, Aunt Megan won the "guess how many" game of gummy fish in a jar, a fish pinata, and even a new beta fish named "Bleu" for Ricky to poke at.

We absolutely love our Ricky and enjoy each day with him. It is a privilege to be his parent.

A Visit to the Peel Homestead

We visited Grandma Randall in Mt. Pleasant on our quick trip to Utah last weekend. Sadly, Grandma wants to sell the farm and the Homestead that she grew up on. Grandma loved seeing Ricky, but he was a bit shy with her until she pulled out a bag of cookies, they quickly became best friends--which made Grandma happy.
