June... September... January????

Ok, so I totally stink at the whole blog thing.

Since my last post nothing really has happened other than we've rediscovered the joys of the library. And a library that is part of a co-op of other libraries so if your branch doesn't have a particular book, they can get it from another branch (or city!)

I was always one to just go buy the book and then deal with it later. Well, I've saved hundreds of dollars just by using what is available - go me! The kids are reading entire series of books and so am I :)

What have I been reading? Well, besides the Twilight series (talk about a bunch of books that have me completely suckered in!) I've been reading the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series. I'm up to book #9 now. They are starting to get a bit old but I'll trudge through them all - all being 16 books with #17 in the works. I've caught up on the Xanth series too. Once I get finished with the Anita Blake series, I've got the Sookie Stackhouse series (8 books) waiting for me. They were purchased at the same time as Twilight because the wait at the library was "undetermined". Meaning it could be years before I got the first book. Merry Christmas to me LOL!!

My birthday came and went and the holidays just flew by. Hubby and I were both off the afternoon of Christmas Eve through Jan 6. That was a nice break. However, I'm ready for a mental health day of my own with zero interruptions to do whatever I please in peace and quiet - or the blaring of my iPod - whatever I want. Maybe it'll happen sometime. Maybe.

There are some things that I really need to get done around this house. First thing being filing/shredding. I am surrounded by paper everywhere! The second thing is to move Kate's clothes from Ian's room to her room. Maybe that will get done sometime this month.

Cross stitch - I haven't picked up a needle since April I think. I've been doing a bit of knitting but even that I haven't touched in a while. I find myself sucked into Facebook and my games there.

Well this post should keep me good through March or so ;)

Have a great weekend!

September already?

I swear, time must be moving at warp speed.

How about I just *wave* to all my cross stitch buddies out there. Heck, I'll just *wave* to everyone who stumbles across this blog too ;)

How was everyone's summer? The highlight of my summer was seeing Huey Lewis and the News in concert. That was something I've wanted to do for probably 20 years now. We also saw Weird Al Yankovic and he puts on an awesome show too. Definately will see him again!

It's hard to believe I've got a 3rd grader and a 2nd grader in the house. Like I said in my last blog entry, I'm done with a named position in the PTO for now. We'll see again in a few years.

What have I been doing to fill up my time? Besides all the family "stuff", I've started working on a family tree. I'm up to over 800 people now! It's kind of addicting seeing where all these different branches twist and turn.

Ok, I guess I need to get moving and do some house stuff. I hope everyone is doing well!

Um, yeah, I'm still alive

not sure about my blog though - has it really been since the end of March since I've last posted. Akk!

Tomorrow is the kids last day of school. It's hard to believe I'll have a 3rd grader and a 2nd grader. With any luck, Kate will get Ian's teacher. She's been awesome and I think she'll be a good influence on Kate to help her learn to focus. Ian - I'm not sure about the 3 teachers for 3rd grade, but I do have one I'm hoping he gets. Fingers crossed!

PTO - I'll be done with my term as treasurer at the end of July. Really in just a few days, but not officially until July 31. In August I'll get with the lady taking the reins and get to the bank to get the signatures changed. It's going to be weird!

Sickies are finally leaving!

This last month has been horrible as far as sickies go. Kate got sick then I got sick and then Kate got sick again and I got whatever the second thing she had.

Rick got sick and then Ian got sick and then Kate got a double ear infection and I got bronchitis.

I haven't done any stitching since the 3rd or 4th of this month and it was a month long stitch a thon on cross stitch crazy. Night time comes and I just crash.

But I'm finally starting to feel human again. Kate had a bunch of dental work done today so she's feeling pretty loopy. Ian has the night time cough again but is doing well during the day.

Calgon, take me away!
