from the neighbor

My good friend and neighbor Lora has the coolest toys (for when her grand kids) at her house for Jack to play with. Her latest addition? A power-wheel car Jack cannot get enough of.
Now when I was little, we girls always wanted one. As always, we had a great time with our tricycles, dirt and matchbox cars. Jack still loves his toys, but now he gets a special treat to be able to drive his very own car. He is still getting used to turning away from parked cars and the curb, so we have found it much safer to have him drive in the middle of the road (even better in the wider cul de sac). He is so fun to watch, and even better, he really knows he's a big boy!

jack's first sleepover

Ransom went down to Black River, so Katie and the kiddo's spent the night. Jack was so excited to have a sleepover with his cousins. They built Olaf's, watched movie and giggled plenty. Katie slept on the couch, and when I checked on them in the morning, Katie was surrounded by Phoebe and Morris. Jack was right next to them on the floor sound asleep.

life of pebbles

We have had Pebbles part of our family for 20+ years. I thought I would compile some photos through the years. We have a lot of memories with Pebbles...
Scrapbook USA, inventory, birthday sales, moving the counter, midnight madness sales, cleaning carpet, smart meetings, painting the walls and ceilings (I think there is at least 1.5" of paint colors on the walls), moving from one location to another (St George), employee meetings, cha shows in anaheim and chicago, etc. I love Pebbles.

A Trip to the Zoo

We finally took Jack to the Zoo, and he loved it! We invited the Hobb's family to come along, and Lucy loved it too. Here are a few memories...
-Jack asked kids that were crying "hey, why you cryin?"
-Paul and I were standing in line to purchase our tickets, and a really nice man came up to us and gave us 2 adult tickets for free!
-He and Lucy could not get enough of the animals
-We realized that the zoo was going to close soon, so we hurried through the rest "Jack, look quick at the turtle, next is a snake...ooh, wow, now quick, look at the black footed cat." Worst part...we missed the train!
-A sweet lady came up to Paul and I and gave us 5 train tickets ($2 each)
-The pizza was delish
-Jack liked to mimick each animal, and run really fast
-There was a huge drinking fountain the shape of a lion
-I was feeling really bad because there was only 1 elephant, and I wanted him to have a friend. When we passed by again, there were 2. I was very happy!

Mother of the Year Award?

You know those days that are perfect? Everyone gets along, everyone eats healthy, everyone plays nice, etc? Well, that's how the day went until I decided to make cookies.
I took the cookies out of the oven (yes, Jack was next to me), and I placed the extremely hot (350*) sheet on the counter, away from the edge. Jack immediately reach up, which he as never done before, to get one. I thought I had grabbed his arm just in time, and put his hand in mine to try to sooth his crying. When I looked down, his skin from his wrist was coming off, and it looked really bad. The rest of the night, he kept his arm far away from anything and everything. Even the next day, he wouldn't use his right arm. I would try to hand him his water bottle and he would reply "mom, I can't hold it". Then he would tip his face forward and open his mouth. He is hysterical. Here's to the "Mother of the Year Award".

Happy Valentines Day

Today was a fantastic day. I woke up early to work out, then we got ready for the day. Paul wanted to take us to breakfast. Mom was watching Lucy and Ellie, and Jack did not want to come with us! He wanted to stay and play, so he did. Paul and I went to Baked for breakfast, ran a couple errands (including Pebbles to take a mop during another bathroom crisis), and headed home to put Jack down for a nap. While he slept, we read Fablehaven. Then we played outside in the dirt, Jack sat in the sun and ate chips, went on a walk, went to the park, had dinner (made by Abby: steak & mashed potatoes with a balsamic glaze, an summer salad, kiwi, black cherry soda, and a chocolate strawberry triffle), watched Curious George and went to bed. It was a really nice relaxing day, and I loved spending time with those I love.

Jumping for Joy

One of Jacks very favorite activities is jumping on trampolines. My parents have a small work out one that he seems to find, no matter where they put it. When the Bigelow's got a "traditional" one, he loves taking walks to their house to jump and run around it as fast as he can. I love seeing the smile of nothing weighing him down, his eyes full of light. Thank you trampolines!
