The Village is Up!

In 2004, 2 years before kids, Nick and I started collecting Dept. 56's North Pole village. All for moments like these.

Every year, Briley helps me get each piece out of the box, out of the foam, and put it in it's place.

This year, Lawson was old enough to help.

He made sure to get a front row seat.

Daddy says it's my project with the boys and does his own thing.

1 hour later, we've got this:

Briley stared at it and said, "Man, I really want to go to Santa's world one day." Lawson can sit on the back of the couch for hours and stare at it.

After Thanksgiving

We spent the rest of the weekend in Memphis, which is when I stopped taking pictures. Maybe Mimi will send them to me??? We went to Mimi's house. Friday, Nick and I had a date night and went to Rendevous downtown. I think we've eaten there more since we've moved than we did when we moved there. We miss some Memphis BBQ. On Saturday, we did some shopping and went to Benihana's for Nick's early birthday dinner.

Then we came home on Sunday for some Christmas decorating.

The magic has begun for a certain 2 year old.

I had to let go of my Type A tendencies.

Because Briley believes that all ornaments of the same kind must be in the same location.

Admiring his work :)

More Thanksgiving Fun

Briley wasn't the only one eating up the attention.
Photobucket
Lawson was loving it too. He even showed off his new potty skills. If this offends you, you probably don't need to come to our house :) --- And no, he's not pooping. I think he's trying to avoid dribbling!

Someone else loved cousin Coco.

But I think the feeling was mutual :)

Love My Sissies

We had a good night of sister bonding over Thanksgiving. I'm so very thankful for these two.

The Cool Kid

Briley thinks his cousin Coco is "pretty" and that his cousin Austin is the coolest thing ever. He made sure to act very grown up in front of them. So of course he had to pull out his super cool shades when they were getting ready to leave.

Greatest picture ever :)

Thanksgiving This Year

We started off at Aunt Tammy's house in the country. The boys were soooo excited to get there!

Auntie G and her grown up kiddos.

B got Mouse Trap and played it ALL weekend.
Photobucket
He also woke Lawson up from a pre-turkey nap.
Photobucket
Luckily Auntie G saved the day :)
Photobucket
Big John got to take his nap though.

It was well worth it!

And then we put on Spiderman costumes, of course.

Something I am Thankful for This Year

Photobucket
Yep, that's right! No. more. diapers!
Photobucket

At 2.5, Lawson is officially potty trained! We even said goodbye to the stinky Diaper Champ and changing pad this week.

I was totally prepared for him to go to kindergarten in diapers. He's messy, doesn't care if he's dirty, etc., etc. Oh, and his big brother was potty trained well before his 2nd birthday.
Photobucket

So, I didn't want to pressure him, and I was sure that he wasn't ready. But after weeks and weeks of staying dry at school, I decided it was time to say goodbye to the stinky and expensive diapers. Pull-ups never worked for either of the boys, we went straight to "big boys", and after a few accidents, singing Itsy Bitsy Spider on the potty for #2, and a few days, the little guy was out of diapers! I am so proud of him, and so thankful that I don't have to change another stinky diaper!

Grandma and Peepaw's Visit

Christmas starts early around here since we do my family's side Christmas at Thanksgiving. The boys were spoiled with a new assortment of Imaginext toys.
Photobucket
I love how they both lined everything up.

Lawson got the Toy Story set and Briley got the Samarai set.

Afterwards, we decided to put up a few Christmas decorations. I decided to be a little crafty and join the deco mesh bandwagon.

Photobucket
Yes, we actually started before Thanksgiving! And Nick even helped without complaining. It doesn't hurt that we have a 5 year old begging him to do it :) Really, shouldn't we all make our favorite season last a little longer if we can?

Chillaxin

Grandma and Peepaw came in town this weekend, and the boys were so excited to have them here. It was either cold or rainy or both, so we spent lots of time hanging out inside.

I'm So Excited!

The new camera is here, and it is amazing! I have a baby session tomorrow where I'll use it for the first time, and with all the rain, I've literally taken 3 pictures with it. I know they may not look too exciting, but this was natural light, inside sometime past sunset, and it was dark in the house. Here's what the boys did while I was cooking dinner.

Lawson watched Cars.
Photobucket
B played the Wii.
Photobucket
And after dinner they found a new place to watch TV.
