Bathtime
Little Bit (although he says I can't call him that anymore b/c he's not little) is loving all of his bath toys from Santa. He actually let me snap a few pictures at bathtime tonight. Can you just see the trouble brewing in this little guy's face???
The Little Bit note above reminded me of some funny things he's said lately.
- At Taco Bell, we told him he wouldn't like the Mild sauce because it was too hot, so he asked for "warm" sauce.
- Well, "actually".... "actually" is a common word in his vocabulary right now
- The other day he got mad at someone when they called him a little boy, he had to correct them and let them know that he was, in fact, a BIG boy.
I need to write these down quicker b/c he is saying some funny ones right now. I don't want to forget!

Let me tell you, video games have been one of the most difficult parenting topics for us. Briley loves video games. If I'd let him, he'd sit upstairs and play all day long. We only allow games on the weekends, but still it's a huge problem. So, recently games got cut off, and we've been thinking of gamelike activities that will keep his little mind busy. Because he has a very smart little mind. So, Nick taught him how to play chess the other night. Oh my, did he love it and was he good at it! I mean he had a serious face going on. They have played 3 nights in a row. We may have a chess club member in the house! Ha!
Singing Machine
Alright, these are a little out of order, but I had to post. Nick was off work for Lawson's Christmas program. I knew this would be a good one. Lawson had been singing the songs for weeks, and I was so excited to watch him. I was taking pictures, and Nick was videotaping. At first Lawson wouldn't sing b/c he was too busy looking for us. Well, as soon as he saw Nick, he SCREAMED, I mean screamed, "DADDY". You could hear everyone laugh, and Nick got it on video. But as soon as that happened, the kid sang his heart out. I knew he wouldn't disappoint, and it was absolutely adorable.
Margaritaville and Monster Trucks
After days of being cooped up in the house, the boys were finally fever free, and we were able to take them to the Monster Jam. It was one of our Christmas gifts to them. I had never been, and I was actually really excited!
Since we were going downtown, we decided to eat somewhere fun, and we went to Margaritaville. Where...they have Wikki Stix instead of crayons with the kid menus! It was such a fabulous idea!

It's the flu, baby...
So the B man crashed early on NYE. We thought it was a little strange, but didn't worry too much. The next day he ran a low grade fever all day and just laid on the couch. He didn't have any complaints, and considering that the Ped. office was closed, I decided to make a decision about going to the doctor the next day.
Day 2 comes along, and B laid in bed or on the couch all morning. Then, Lawson started getting cranky, and I took his temp. It was a little over 101, so I texted Nick and decided to go ahead and bring them both in to the doctor.
This is how our morning looked.
Our appointment was only an hour later, and by then Briley was on fire. His fever went up to 104.3, and he was dizzy when he stood up. I was so glad we were headed to the doctor.
It turns out that both boys tested positive for the flu. We had to pick up Tamiflu on our way home, and we've spent the past 3 days on the couch, watching movies, and eating popsicles.
Lawson had to quit taking Tamiflu b/c it made him throw up each time. And I don't mean a little throw up, I mean projectile! It was awful. The first time happened when he was sleeping. He woke up screaming "I'm broken, I'm broken!" The next time, he threw up ALL over me as I was trying to give him his Motrin. I called Nick at work, and begged him to come home immediately. Briley is about like his mommy and can't tolerate throw up. As soon as Lawson started he secluded himself to the kitchen as far away as he could get. The second time Lawson threw up, B locked himself in the bathroom with the ipad. He stayed in there for 1.5 hours and refused to come out! It was so B and really hysterical. I'm glad he helped lighten up the day.
Anyway, we are on Day 4. Both boys are fever free for the moment and playing upstairs. Hopefully things are turning up for them!

NYE
We had such a fun New Year's Eve. Since we don't have family in town, we have spent the past few years at a friend's house with lots of families and kids. The kids end up playing upstairs, the dad's hang out in the man cave/garage playing corn hole, and the mom's stay inside. We played a few games this year too. We had a great night! I love that my boys are independent enough to be able to play with their friends so that we can have friend time as well.
We pulled out the phone camera towards the end of the night.
It gave me a good laugh the next day.
This is Lawson and my future daughter in law, Parrish. I love that girl! These 2 are inseparable when they are together.
We had sparkling juice for the kiddos in plastic glasses so that they could join us for the midnight toast. Lawson was a trooper that night and made it to the toast. He guzzled down that juice! B on the other had crashed early, little did we know that it was only the beginning for him...
It was a great night with great friends. 2012 was a wonderful year for our little family. If 2013 is the same or any better, I'll be a happy girl.
