Happy Birthday Linaya Lou

Okay, don't be confused by the title... Her name IS Linaya Jean. Just for some reason Lou or Lou-Lou is her adopted nickname.

Anyway, MISS LINAYA celebrated her 1st birthday on October 23rd.
First, by eating one really giant pancake.

She is the HAPPIEST child!
Before Tianna had to rush off to school, she got to open her presents....... actually, she HAD all her presents from her party a few days earlier. However, her big sisters took it upon themselves to find toys of their own to pass on to her. Sweet really. PLUS, it was cheap! :)
Adelia gave her the spinny Minnie Mouse she got from Disneyland. (because it was her souvenir, she only gets to PARTLY give it to her sister)
Tianna gave her the free toy computer the lady we bought our cat from gave us. I told ya, these presents were cheap! ;) ha!
At her party on Sunday we gave her this wagon full of blocks. She prefers to just sit in the wagon... works for me.
Our Primary is so amazing... and SO AMBITIOUS! They put these signs in the yard of every Primary kid in the ward. No small feat for a ward with a Primary the size of ours! I never imagined they did BABY'S birthday's too!

I was in feeding Linaya before the sun had come up. Suddenly, in the still, quiet of the early morning, I see these lights shine right through her bedroom window and hear this BANG BANG BANG. My heart literally stopped. I peeked out the blinds and saw the birthday sign out. It made for a good chuckle.... after I regained my composure!

Luke had taken several days off for the deer hunt and used one of his days to be home with us on her birthday. Most of the day was spent doing some stuff around the house (which made her mom very happy) and in return... she was happy.

After school we went up to Provo to take Linaya to the Disney store where they give out birthday crowns.  She saw a really big Minnie Mouse doll and she wanted to hold it. I gave it to her and she hugged and hugged it and wouldn't let it go or trade it for anything else. Eventually she put it down.... but luckily we have a good idea of what to get her for Christmas now.
After we stopped at the Disney store we went to Chuck-E-Cheese for dinner. Well.. if you can call it that. :) But the games were super fun and Linaya LOOOOVED riding all the token machines.
Thanks for having a birthday so we could have such a fun time! :)
*********************************
Dear sweet Linaya,  You are such a joy in our lives.  You are a silly, happy, loving little girl. You are the best snuggler.  It melts our hearts when you rest your head on us and nuzzle in.
Mommy's hair tops the list of your favorite things. As long as you can hang onto Mom's ponytail or run your fingers through it you are happy.  You are always so excited to see Dad come through the door.  You are his little buddy and the closest thing to a Daddy's girl he's had yet.

You love treats and your first word was "More."  Anytime your eyes see any sort of treat you spit out your binkie and say "Mo" because you want more...even if you haven't even had any yet.
You say Mama and Dadda, More, Naw (for No) and you shake your head up and down when you want to say yes.
You love your sisters and think they are hilarious. They are great mother hens to you and love you so so much.
We are so happy you are in our family.

Linaya's Polka Dot Party

We had a polka-dot themed party for Linaya's 1st birthday party at my Mom and Dad's house.
She wasn't in the mood for pictures..... or surprisingly, cake. I thought she'd be all over the cake smashing/eating plan but she was way more hesitant than expected. Maybe it was all the less  familiar faces staring at her...or the fact we had just pulled her out of the car and immediately sat her up for pictures with her cake

She did like when everyone sang to her

Want some?
Inside the giant cupcake-- MORE polka dots :)

Thank you all for coming celebrate Linaya's birthday with us.

Local Octobery Stuff

While we really miss Logan and it's Pumpkin Walk, Western Heritage Center and the other fall activites up there, we throughout October we found some local fun to do closer by.
This is at a little family farm in Payson--The Country Farm Fest
We were so glad Daddy could come with us... conveniently it was right by his work.
The girls loved rolling around in the corn kernals
Oh the bounce houses!  Linaya did NOT want to be left out!

Pumpkinland
Saturday the 12th we met up with my dear friend, Janelle, and her adorable little Ellie and went to this cute place in Orem.
Do all kids love sticking their heads through holes in wood? Mine sure do!
I'm not sure why Janelle and I didn't get a picture of ourselves together....... but, as usual, it was super fun getting together with her. After Pumpkinland we went shopping a bit and had lunch at our favorite, Cafe Rio! Yum yum!

Hay Ride at the Red Barn with Adelia's Preschool
Just a mile from our house is the Famous Red Barn.........which really does have the BEST ice cream ever! My latest addiction-- apple pie ice cream.

October is seriously one of the best months of the year!!
