Egg Hunt with Campbell

Last Thursday evening, Owen and I met Campbell, Meg & Blake at a near by park for our community egg hunt. Below is our attempt to get a picture of Campbell & Owen before the egg hunt.

Here is a picture of the field of eggs. Only one parent was allowed on the field per kiddo and we had to line-up against the outfield fence (warning track).

Pic of Owen's focused face...
Both kiddos super excited to get started.

Then they sounded the air horn and Owen got scared and didn't want to hunt eggs anymore.

Mommy trying to show Owen that it's okay and he can hunt the eggs.

Now he has the hang of it.

Super confident Owen. When we finished he said, "Again!"

Both kiddos super happy after hunting their eggs.

The Mommy's and their babies!!!
Thank you so much Meg & Blake for the invitation to go and for helping with Owen. Y'all are so special to our family!!!

Funny Owen Pic's

Who says you need a diaper to play outside in the backyard. Poor Owen's world has been rocked since Chloe arrived. Trying to poor goldfish by himself. "Do it" is what he will say when he wants to do it all by himself. I couldn't help but laugh because this is just too funny! You can't even see the bowl I gave him to poor the goldfish into.
Hammering the wall with his NEW hammer from Mama & Papa Owen. Thanks so much! HE LOVES IT!

The first 24 hours

Below are some pictures of the first 24 hours of life as a family of 4. It is a 3 ring circus, but in all honesty has been really wonderful! Owen loves Chloe so much and wants to take her everywhere with him. He really has impressed us with how well he is cooping with having a sibling.
Funny picture of Owen..... Chloe was wearing a beanie, so Owen wanted to wear a beanie....Chloe was swaddled in a blanket, so Owen wanted to be swaddled in his robe..... the drill had to be in his hands for the picture as you can see from his pouting face.
More pictures of Owen and the drill. Maybe he will be the next "Tim the toolman Taylor"

Chloe's Birthday & Owen meeting Chloe for 1st time

Chloe Marie Pels

7 pounds, 9 ounces
19 1/2 inches long

Owen running to see his new baby sister in the nursery.

While Mommy and Daddy were staying at the hospital with Chloe, Owen was at home with Nana and Papa John. Each day that we were in the hospital, Owen had a "gift" from Chloe. His first gift was a baseball tee. I must say...he is a natural!!!
Imitating the baseball players on TV by pretending to hit the plate.
Getting a running start. TOO FUNNY!
Taking the action outside
Nana took this picture because she said this is the position he would take a lot while we were gone.
We got some new patio furniture and this picture is of Owen helping Nicky put the furniture together. Owen LOVES drills and so this was a perfect project for him to help with.
Sitting in the finished product.
Below is a picture of the first sit-down with Chloe and Owen. He has been absolutely wonderful with her and LOVES her so much! Mom and Dad have taken a backseat and Chloe is now his favorite.

Owen just gave Chloe "knuckles"
We took the excitement of Chloe's arrival outside, because his last "gift" from her was a sandbox.
Giving her knuckles again with Daddy's help.
Owen is saying "pet" Chloe. (like he pets Big Suzie and Scooter) Very funny!
Very excited about his gift!!!!!

We prayed about this day for 9 months worrying about how Owen was going to handle having a sibling at such a young age, but the Lord definitely knew what he was doing because Owen and Chloe could not be doing any better! We feel so blessed and lucky for the path the Lord has given us!
