as i was saying, boredom can kill, when everything else no longer excites you, you start looking for alternatives.
i was browsing through friendster profiles lately and i noticed someone has been viewing mine. Hmmm...that name rings a bell.
Oh, it's one of the students from my very first class in my contract school!
No, he isn't the smartest or the cheekiest kid in that class, but he's definitely one of the good-lookers!! haha!!
i remembered the first day i stepped into the school as a contract teacher, i was almost as terrified as a primary one kid on his first day of school. Of cos, i couldnt have shown it on my face, but i remembered nervously pacing up and down in the staff room NOT EVEN KNOWING WHAT TO TEACH before i was 'thrown' into this Primary 5 class ALONE, without any guidance of any sort.
Fyi, contract teacher means you aren't trained in NIE yet but u start teaching in a school already, supposedly for u to 'open ur eyes' and get 'pre-shocked' by the monstrous kids nowadays, just in case u wanted out.
I was given the best class.
Best meaning, best in behaviour, best academically-wise..
Definitely smart kids who knew how to 'manipulate' their teachers, haha!
More so when i wasnt even fierce back then, i had helluva tough time with them! When i realised i shouldnt have given so much leeway for the kids, it was already too late.
To say it very nicely, it means: I've built such a strong and close rapport with them that they treated me as one of them!!
In fact: They were on bargaining terms with me when it came to discipline and homework! Damn it! so they totally loved me cos i wasnt strict at all.
i count myself very fortunate to have stayed there only for 3 months (some suay ones got to stay more than a year in some schools!) and off i went to NIE for my training =)
PHEW! *sweat*
OK, sorry for digressing again.. back to that cute kid, he is one soft-spoken bespectacled boy with a cute toothy smile. ZuoPeng. i believe esther still remembers him too, wahaha!! Don't you, girl??

Anyway, that cute kid has grown into a fine teen. *calculate calculate* He is 17 years old, OMG.
No prizes for guessing how OLD i'm already, haha! but my then p5 student is already 17 years old now!! haha!
i sent him a message to see how he was doing. and then he replied..
"Hi! u also XXX pri sch de meh? u same age as mi ma? y i dun noe u de?? ha.. =)"
*faints*

i think it got him scared, cos it took him one whole week to view my profile again before replying me. Heh. i think he was trying very hard to recall but to no avail.
finally, he sent another mail today.
"i dun quite rem u liao, but my fren say he rem u.. y so long liao u still rem mi? izzit last time i very naughty de.. ha.. now r u still in teaching? gt anything incident u can tell mi de so i can recall u back... ha.. =)"
No incident leh.. i cant possibly tell him that he's darn cute until i remember him even after 7 long years rite!? so i just told him to recall the noisiest lessons he had when he was in pri sch, most probably it will evoke some lost memories, haha!
