20th August 2013
It was a day off that day. Great not to be working on my special day, hur.. Have i mentioned how nice it is to laze at home, doing absolutely nothing at all? hehe
I had a birthday date in the evening though :)
It was a surprise as nothing was divulged beforehand. I just went with whatever that was planned by him.
Dinner reservation was made at Dozo @ Valley point.
i would call it somewhat a modernised fine-dining restaurant.
Honestly, i've never stepped into such an atas place for a meal before.

Some yuzu(?)-tasting drink to whet your appetite. Refreshing though :)

We just kept talking when we got seated down. I was still wondering why there isn't a need to start ordering already.
Turned out that the menu only got a 7-course set dinner, and you choose your appetizer, main, dessert etc. from a list.
The waiter came to our table after we appeared that we wanted to start our dinner. He was so eloquent in elaborating each dish in the menu, before making his recommendation for both of us. I was actually quite impressed with their superb service.
Our appetizer. The waiter specifically asked us to eat in this order, from the left to the right.

It's the first time i'm actually eating foie gras (that piece on the extreme right, haha...)
OMG. IT WAS SO GOOD.
what have i been missing out all these years of my life man?
Yes, it's the first time i'm having some fine dining experience. haha..
I couldn't stop myself from exclaiming at every little thing zzz.
And Sam was amused just looking at how sua ku i am.
His sashimi platter.

My lobster salad.

Crab Bisque Cappuccino with a flavourful seafood taste.

Mushroom Soup with Truffle. i'm supposed to bite on the truffle on its own and afterwhich, drink the soup. Awwww.. and it was thick and creamy. slurp~
My first time eating escargot as well! I didn't know a snail can taste this good! The butter and the garlic.... woohoo~

Our mains..
My beef steak. Supposedly what Dozo is famous for. However, i think their appetizers / soup / sides are much better as compared to this main course.

Sam's Kurobuta Pork Cheek, which was tasty! Yeap, i stole a little from his plate :)
We both had the same dessert!
which was the warm lava cake with vanilla ice-cream ;)

A pot of fruit and rose tea... by then we were so full!

And then, he took out a Chanel paperbag from his briefcase. omg...
i seriously didn't believe my eyes, haha.

It was his birthday present for me. A pair of earrings with swarovski crystals.
The waiter came shortly, with a cake and a lit candle. Another surprise omg.. He placed it infront of me. It has my name on it!

The waiter added, "This wouldn't be made possible without a special some one. That someone sitting right across the table, infront of you."
Sam just smiled across the table and i never felt so touched in my life before. i seriously wanted to cry already! And when the birthday song was sung, my gaze never left him. i'm like in a trance state, lol.
The waiter got Sam to sit over and helped us to snap 2 photos

It's undoubtedly the best birthday in my life.
Thank you so, so much sweetheart.
