I'm back from amazing Bangkok. haha..
back on Monday night and the next day need to wake at 6am for work liao -_-
Tired max...
Today woke up feeling under the weather, so called in sick. Thus i have some time to blog about my BKK trip hehe..
It's the 3rd year and 3rd time that we are here at Bangkok.
It's like a yearly trip for the 2 of us.
On JetStar. booked tix very late again and we paid 600 for the flight.
Super elated faces ^^

Timing was good as it was a 10:45am flight. So no midnight charge, no early mornings, no rush.... Still got time to have some toast at Toast box in T1.
Touched down safely at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport around noon.
We took the taxi to the hotel. Fare was 235baht + 25baht toll (around 10 bucks SGD). We tipped every cab driver who were nice and didn't go all out to
tok us. We are thankful we met all nice people throughout the trip :)
So, we reached the hotel.
In 2013, we stayed at Hotel Muse (the best hotel ever in my opinion. Super sexy hotel)
2nd year was at Centara Watergate pavillion (good location if you wan to be near platinum mall. Hotel also very new and nice). Realised i've blogged about my second trip to BKK. It's
here if you wanna read it haha.
This time round, we planned to stay at Berkeley hotel initially, since it's of very close proximity to Platinum mall. But i couldn't bring myself to book it. It's the nagging gut feeling in me that tells me No.
So i browsed more hotels in Trip Advisor and stumbled upon this hotel - Hua Chang Heritage Hotel.
And i fell in love straight away. Price for 4 nights including tax was $570.
Love the minimalist design of the hotel. Love white deco and furniture.

The staff brought us up to our room (412) and gave a short "presentation" of the room.
We were quite amused cos we have never been "introduced" to a room like that before.
OUR HOTEL ROOM IS MAD PRETTY
❤
OMG.. the pink curtains and never-ending bed board. Hurrr...
Pillows too soft for comfort though. Need to put bathrobes underneath in order to have a better night's sleep.
And the huge bathtub is right in the room! Sexy! We can soak our legs after a whole day of shopping while watching TV. Love the way how they did the multi-directional door for the bathroom. Idea for new house...
The pond-looking swimming pool. zzz we aren't swimming here, so it's not a bad point afterall. Centara does not have a swimming pool too. haha..
I didn't take photos at every single destination like i used to. Wanna enjoy the moment. or maybe i've grown lazy hehe.
Our first stop was the tailor shop at NANA BTS.
his usual tailor. Boss Avenue.
5 shirts, 1 grey suit and a pair of black pants for bf. Cost= 13,250 baht (SGD 530). The price went up since last year, and we managed to ask for a discount of 250 baht.
Quite a popular tailor shop, cos the next day when we went for the 1st fitting, we saw many pages of orders after ours. haha..
It was "After You" for dessert at Siam Square. Banana crumble that sam so loved. i okay nia, found it abit too sweet for my liking.... i no sweet tooth like him.
The next morning, we headed to Pho Wat. Wanted to visit this place since 2013, but ended up not having enough time to go. So we specifically planned to go on the 2nd day of this trip. Confirm have enough time!
We took a cab cos looking at the directions to take train abit too mafan. Need to take train, change car to pier and take ferry. Eat full liao.
Take cab can reach straight away. 200 baht nia. No need walk and no need sweat. haha.. And the hotel staff, Chin, was nice enough to help us hail a cab from the roadside despite the sweltering heat...and he was wearing blazer. Cfm hot until die.
Cab driver
gey-siao say meter spoil. But 200 baht give him la.
Reached Pho Wat after a 20min cab ride! Yay
Come bangkok sightseeing instead of shopping is quite an experience. My parents always tell me, go overseas is to understand and appreciate other countries' culture. Not to go on a shopping or eating spree.
hahaa...
but i like Bkk shopping leh.. and bf likes the food.
Had some touristy shots. Come here must dress appropriately. Cannot wear shorts / sleeveless / slippers / be
暴露
Heat was quite unbearable.
The temple of the reclining Buddha is here. Quite a magnificent statue. It measures 15 metres in height, 46 metres in length and covered with gold leaf.
I remembered coming here before with my parents when i was in Primary 4 (?)...
20+ years back, Bangkok was a polluted city with terrible traffic jams.
Now, the jams are still around, but probably the air condition improved greatly since.
Took a selfie. Natural lighting make photo so nice wahaha...
After the visit, we headed back to the hotel for a bath and change of clothes. In BKK cannot wear jeans one. Will die of heat. haa.. like in singapore.
The hotel was good. The room was made up very early de. Cos when we left at 10am and back at 12+pm, the room was already cleaned and in tip-top condition!
Morever in the afternoon, i think there was another make-up room, where water and biscuits will be sent into the room again. It's like that every single day.
Amazing service! We tipped the housekeeper every day.
After that, we went shopping at Platinum mall :) Walked past the street food festival at CentralWorld and had some prata!
This is a stall called "Rotee Fatimah". haha.. basically it's roti prata and you can add the ingredients.
Happy me

We had the banana and cheese rotee. It was drizzled with condensed milk and super tasty!!
YUMS!!

Shopping at platinum mall.. finding 100 baht Tshirts for bf. 100 baht is 4 dollars nia. cheap cheap!! :D

i like the banana tee but bf forbids me to buy, saying that he will never wear one. Aaha.. very cute what. i also like the Pineapple one. Wear will huat.
Late lunch was at Bae Khun Mae @ Siam Square Soi 8.
Recommended by my colleagues who were there a week ago.
Food was really good. The stir-fried kangkong was the BEST. Why got so tasty de dish one???
Must-try in BKK: Tom yum soup, Green curry, Fish cake, mango rice, thai iced tea
Dinner was at the famous Thai boat restaurant at Victory Monument BTS. We googled the direction. Take to VM BTS station, walk towards the monument (there is an overhead bridge one), just walk all the way past the monument and you will reach a canal with many stalls selling Thai boat noodles. This stall that we went to supposedly serves the "Best thai boat noodle" in BKK. It's air-conditioned and i think it's the 3rd /4th stall along the canal. The staff wearing orange tshirt one.

Each bowl only costs 10 baht (40 cents SGD). We ordered 2 of each flavour to try. There is pork, beef, spicy & sour, and fermented bean (the pink color one). The pink one not nice in my opinion. The pork noodle in thickened broth is quite flavourful though. Fried wanton also costs 10 baht per bowl.
Like that take this photo look like bf eating alot hahaa...

Our whole dinner only costs us slightly more than SGD 5. So cheap it's amazing haha..
Our legs were breaking, so we didn't walk though the night market. The night market here is quite huge! :)
We headed back to hotel to rest.
Guess where we went the next day?
The Hello Kitty Cafe! YAY.. haha.. My colleague, Fengmei, was coincidentally in BKK too, so we met up to go to the girly cafe Lol..much to our partners' reluctance.
Look at these pretty cakes!!! :)
They aren't cheap lor.. one costs around SGD 8 bucks... but they decorate until
sibei nice to serve it to u after that la.
Menu at the cashier.
Our table was on the second level of the cafe :)

Look at the pretty tainted glass ceiling...
We ordered a rainbow cafe, a hot latte and cold pink milk tea (cos i wanted the hello kitty tumbler that came with it).

Latte has Hello kitty face!!!
Fengmei and her hubby ordered cheese cake and strawberry shortcake. SO cute right!

with 2 iced lattes... also got the kitty face haha...
Sam trying to find a good angle to take an artistic shot of the cake.

close up of rainbow cake. The colours are so pretty! Taste is so-so nia. 好看不好吃 one la
Group photo :)
Me and bf. See the tumbler!! i brought it back to use in the office
took more photos of the cafe... and me. haha

p.s. i got a bad hair day. one part of my fringe cannot decide where to stay. zzz
Got to the basement where they are selling Hello kitty merchandise. Super ex one. the hello kitty vacuum flask is 80 bucks and the soft toy is 40 bucks. zzz
Heng i'm not a huge fan of hello kitty. Cos if it's Rilakumma cafe, sure my pocket got big hole liao
Took a free photo in the display car though haha...

it's so girly i think sam cannot take it. Lol..
Look what we've found! HEHE....
After that, went back to Platinum mall for more shopping. Bought alot of stuff! :D
We planned to visit VM again that evening to have Mookata, but in the end decided against it. cos our feet are aching. Walk somemore will break liao.
We bought some muscular ache cream from Watsons at Centralworld. Also got very cheap toiletries there wahaha.
Candid photo...

No more Naraya bags this time round. I'm happy with my Limited edition strawberry one that i'm carrying haha..
We decided to eat at our fave restaurant in Centralworld (Taling Pling - 3rd level) and had "After you" desserts again!
Today, we had their classic-all time favourite, Honey toast! The toast that made them freaking famous haha...
Day 4.
We didn't manage to wake in time for breakfast (which ends at 10:30am), so we decided to eat at the famous Wanton mee stall opposite Platinum mall. We reached 12 plus and the queue wasn't that bad though it was a Sunday.
We each had a bowl of wanton mee and a plate of braised pork knuckle rice. YUMS!
After that we headed to the tailor shop again for a final fitting. Sam looking sharp in his new suit.

The blazer was slightly loose, so we requested for some slight alteration to the sides. The men at Boss Avenue were quite reliable. They offered to send the clothes and suit to our hotel by evening. And when we reached hotel that night, the clothes were already nicely packed, delivered and waiting for us at the reception. Thumbs up for good service!
We bought a COACH bag for bf's mom. It's nice!!
And it's duty free (need to do the VATS refund at the airport after checking in though).
The refund was 550 baht (22 SGD)
We wanted to put the bag back at the hotel cos the box was quite big, so we walked all the way back to the hotel. On the way, we decided to have some desserts at Siam Square. haha...
This is also a must-try at BKK. Mango Tango!!
Pricey but it was good. Many tourists in that shop also. For the past 3 years we visited Mango Tango, all 3 times they were at different locations. They are expanding rapidly. Their shop became bigger and bigger each time haha... All thanks to the raves. Social media is really quite powerful.
Candid shot
Poseur...
Then, we headed back to the hotel since Siam square was very near to our hotel.
Took super alot of selfies haha... cos natural lighting was good
My new top is from Platinum mall! Not cheap. it's 16 bucks :x
In hotel lift.

:) Testing Selfie shot using 美图秀秀 app! Filter gao gao. wahahah... Like so nice lol...

:)
After that, we headed to Pratunam market and got some souvenirs for our colleagues since it's our last night at BKK.
Got this customised handmade owl craft hanger for my brother's family :)

Also made many customised keychains for our colleagues. No photos though. haha..
At night, we bought street food and beer back to the hotel for supper. Took a mandatory shot of all the loot we have bought hehe..

:) 70% of the stuff are mine haha.... SNAIL WHITE! It's cheaper here...should have stocked up more :p
Day 5 Last day.
Went MBK (which was a stone's throw from our hotel) to buy some local delicacies and back to our hotel to pack the food before we checked out.
Our return flight was at 5:30pm, so we needed to set off from our hotel at 2:30pm.
Had some last minute shopping at Platinum mall.
This time round, we took the TukTuk back and fro. Nice!!! 100 baht and save us all the time walking! Love sitting in a TukTuk, though the air very polluted haha...
Reached Platinum mall.
Act high haha... in fact very sad that we are going back to SG :(

What is platinum mall without our favourite crepe from the stall at the basement? haha

His fave nutella+banana hot crepe, and my fave banana+chocolate cold crepe (this time with chocolate ice-cream!!!)
We bought ipad cover, shoes and more shirts for sam. Also managed to find a muscle tee for cousin kaya! Super happy.
i bought a polo tee for my dad and a flowery blouse for my mom. Very fruitful indeed!
Lunch was at the airport. Had the tastiest plate of basil leaf rice and he had Pad-thai.
photo of me looking tired. haha..
Gorgeous sunset view on the plane.
Reached Changi airport at 8:45pm and had 4 fingers @ T3. haha.. after that must go back sleep liao. Next day we both need to work zzz
Yeah, finally finished blogging our amazing trip#3 to Bangkok. HEHE.....Love the trip! Thanks to bf for being an awesome travel mate. Much love!
