Class Act

I know I do not post much. But, I was watching The Factor (which I do not do often), and I saw O'Reilly mention this awesome thing Sandra Bullock did. Enjoy!

Marshall.. It Began Early

Marshall, I am sorry, but I had to post this. I did not realize how early this started in your life. Plus, I did not know your magician skills came from Mom.

9863 Days

Yup, that is how many days I have been alive on earth.  It is a bit crazy to think that.  I have to be honest, I was a bit depressed to turn 27 and be that much closer to 30.  But, then I woke up this morning to the doorbell at 6:15.  It was Dad.  He was there to pick me up for our Saturday round of golf.

I don't know what 27 did or will do to other aspects of my life, but what it did to my golf game was insane!!  I don't think I have ever played that well.  It was almost an out of body experience, except for the occasional chili dip or short put that brought me down to reality.

It felt awesome to be playing so well, but the best part of the whole round was that I beat my dad.  Yes, it only took 9863 days to do it, but I did it.

So, all I can say is bring on 28, and by the time I am 40 I might give Tiger a call.  I know it was only the first time to beat my dad, and it may very well be the last. But, what can I say?  I like living in the moment.

To Better Health

ist2_4233689-fat-runnerWell, it is 2009 and that means a new year (yeah I know 11 days in already) and new goals. I have thought about this for awhile, and I have made a small list of things I want to improve. Right now they are generalized, but I am slowly working out the fine details.

One of these, like almost everyone, is to be healthier. So, today I went for a run. I tried to make it a mile, but was unsuccessful. I know, it is pathetic that I am 26 and I cannot even complete a mile at a steady running pace. You have to start somewhere, but I sure wish I could have started a bit more in shape, and I probably could have it I had not waited so long to develop this healthy habit. So, wish chubby good luck, and please sincerely pray that I don’t pass out or embarrass myself too badly out on the public jogging trail.

A Moment of Silence

I have received word (via Yahoo.com) that Leroi Moore, the saxophonist from Dave Matthews Band, has passed away. I knew he had been in an ATV accident back in June, and that he was in the ICU. But, the latest news I had heard was that he was released to home and on an extensive physical therapy routine. He will be deeply missed by the DMB community.

Currently the band is on tour, and Jeff Coffin from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones has been standing-in for Leroi. He is a great musician and I actually saw him and Leroi perform together at a DMB show. They jammed out #41 for like half an hour.

Leroi, you will be missed! May you jam forever on the sax in that great castle in the sky!
