让我为你介绍耶稣

Read this document on Scribd: Rangwo

I Believe in You

Read this doc on Scribd: I Believe In You

No matter what,
I believe in You,
I don't care what other people say,
No matter what,
I believe in you,
I trust you Lord my God

I believe in You
I believe in You
I believe in You my God (2x)

Sometimes when I'm not feeling too good
I will put all my trust in You
Sometimes I may be really upset
But I still love You Lord

One morning Heather came to me and told me she wrote a song. I was pleasantly surprised. As I look thru the lyrics I understood her heart even more. As parents we are always guiding her in the way of God and it had not been easy on her especially with all the peer pressure she received . However, the Holy Spirit is always teaching her and showing her the better way. This song can only be borne out of the trials she had been thru and as God continues to hone her, she will come forth as pure gold.

This is what she has to say about the song:
I wrote this song because when we go through tough or difficult times, we must believe and trust God with all our strength, heart, mind and soul.”

I Will Dwell

Read this doc on Scribd: I Will Dwell

I will dwell in the shelter of the Most High
I will rest in the shadow of my King
You have filled my cup, I'm overjoyed
I have tasted the goodness of my Lord
O my Jesus, my Saviour, my King

With all my heart, with all my strength
I will praise You and adore You
I will hide Your words deep down in my heart
Lord I choose to trust in You

To be near God is a choice. When we dwell in the shelter of God, we will find His protection over our lives, and we will surely taste the goodness of God. To be under the shadow of somebody, you need to be in close proximity with that person. Likewise, to be close to God means we have God in our mind, in our actions and in our words at all times. This might sound very demanding, but you see, God is a loving God. He loves to be with us. As much as we want our children to come near us so that we can bless them, so how much more our God as our heavenly Father desires our company daily. Children who get to spend great amount of quality time with their parents often feel well loved and fulfilled. So let's make a wise choice today by spending time with our Heavenly Father. We have everything to gain... nothing to lose as we honour our Father.

Rejoice !

Read this doc on Scribd: Rejoice

Rejoice, for the Lord is good
Rejoice! For help is on its way
Rejoice! He will turn things around
Rejoice! For the Lord is good.

My winter will melt into spring
The desert will bloom once again
He will put me in a broad place
So come on let's rejoice....

A bruised reed He will not break
His compassion for me is so great
He will heal all the wounds of His children
So come on let's rejoice....

Indeed to rejoice is an important aspect of our Christian life. Many times we think we can be happy or rejoice only when our dreams come true, or when we've more money, of if so and so would change, or if our career is different. But the truth of the matter is we cannot wait till all these happen to be happy. To rejoice is to see beyond the current circumstances. Some circumstances are horrific and heart wrenching. Only God can empower us with that special grace and vision and heart to rejoice.

Our Father instructs us “to rejoice in all circumstances:... it is definitely not easy to do so but if God says so... it also means He'll help us to do so. (I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13) As we reflect on God's character and meditate on His word, we will come to know that He is loving, gracious, powerful and all-knowing. Nothing is too difficult for Him, no situation is too big for Him to turn around.

There are days when I feel down, unhappy and downright low.... I had to make a conscious effort and decision – to choose to rejoice and be happy. Many times I feel the strength of God and His faithfulness as I choose to obey His instruction to rejoice.

Having walked thru the valley of pain and great difficulties, I have experienced His power in my life, and this song is indeed a prophetic message for all of us. As human beings , we are packed with emotions. There are days of disappointments, sorrow and grief but these should be temporal . These feelings shouldn’t have a mastery over our lives. Focus on God. He will give you every reason to rejoice, even now !

Surprised By God

Philip and I have on our spiritual journey began to enjoy God more and more. One of the characteristics of God which we discovered is that He loves to surprise His children. Recently we were reflecting on the numerous occasions when He surprised us and the tremendous joy it brought us.

Her version:
Few years back when we were in South Africa, He surprised us by giving us the opportunity to watch “Riverdance” perform. It had been my dream to watch them live. The whole nite we were so entertained.

Recently, God surprised us by doing the incredible. We belong to a group called Bethel Ministry and Philip and I being the leaders, always dreamed that 1 day we would have the opportunity to bring our members (Alex's and Jimmy's family) to Toronto to experience the power of God at the Toronto Airport Fellowship (TAF) as we've heard so much about God's transforming power there. But because of financial constrains and all of our differing work schedules and kids, it was totally impossible to go to Toronto together.. But with God nothing is impossible. In March 08, Giancarlo and Catherine Elia (both affiliated to TAF) were passing thru Kuching and they came to our group meeting where they shared on the “Father Heart of God”. That was awesome!!! God knew our desires and He worked around our “impossibilities” by bringing this wonderful couple to us. Nothing is too difficult for our God.

Another surprise I just had recently is to see how computer savvy Philip has become. This is such a major surprise 'coz every time he hits a computer snag, he'll be running to Alex, Steven or Jonathan to solve his woes, but just look at him now... total transformation. It's like God has given him some computer tips !!!!

His version:
I often get pleasant surprises when parents of my piano students bring me goodies usually at a time when all my mind could think of is food... ! Just kidding. (Doreen: Sounds so greedy !)

My “favorite surprises” usually happen when I worship God alone in the studio. It is during these precious moments that God often gives me new insights concerning my career, family, dreams and even my problems !

The Musicmaker studio...my meeting place with God.

I still remember vividly few years back one afternoon when I felt great pain on my leg due to the after effect of a minor operation. During that time I felt a prompting by the Holy Spirit to worship. As I was in pain, it was the last thing I felt like doing but decided to obey anyway. Because I obeyed, God surprised me by instantly healing me from the pain. That was simply amazing !!!

Imagine this. Going home ...tired and feeling hungry after a long day at work. And upon opening the front door, suddenly all you hear is popping sounds and you see streamers flying to the shouts of “SURPRISE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!”
I was surprised to say the least. I was gazing into the laughing faces of all my friends and family. It was my clever wife who orchestrated the entire event without even dropping a hint. Everyone who was invited collaborated with her and I had the BEST birthday ever.

I must also share my joy with you about how God surprised me with my dream grand piano. It was a birthday present given by my wonderful wife Doreen, and honestly both of us were absolutely surprised that God just miraculously pour in the finance just to pamper me. I am a happy and contented man.

To list all the surprises God had done for us would take pages but we want to testify to the goodness of God. We know by faith that God still has many surprises for us. We rejoice in that fact !

Your Amazing Grace

Read this doc on Scribd: Your Amazing Grace

Your amazing grace
You’ve done so much for me
Lord I just want to say, Thank you.
With all my heart
In spirit and truth
Here I am to worship You

I want to worship You
I want to honour You
I want to give You praise forever more
I live to worship You
I live to worship You

Recently I have been thinking a lot about grace. God is so gracious to us. Grace is something that is given to us freely, and when we received it, our hearts are filled with gratitude and joy. It is encouraging to see the reaction of grateful people when they receive gifts. It doesn't matter whether the gift is big of small, but the gratitude and excitement of receiving it speaks volumes. However, I have in the course of my life noted that the same gift given to another person might get a different reaction. To the one who already has everything , another gift does not thrill him at all, but to one who has been dreaming of it all his life will received it in great exuberant joy.

Have we become so familiar with the good things and good life that we take God's grace for granted?
Have you lost the joy and excitement of enjoying the grace of God?

Let's come back to the basics. It is the grace of God that enables us to enjoy good health and celebrate life, and the grace of God will always be enough to bring us out from difficult situations in life. It is also the grace of God that teach us to say “no” to godless living and sinful pleasures and to live God-fearing lives day after day. (Titus 2:12)

God’s grace is for all to enjoy. No one deserves it but God in His matchless love gave His only Son so that we can be redeemed from depravity and darkness. God has a masterpiece plan for mankind. Make sure you are right in it. His purpose is for everyone to live in it and not be caught in the devil’s snare. Take time to reflect on His Amazing Grace.

Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day. We decided not to go out to eat coz mama just had her cataract operation. So mummy and Jackie-e-e chose to cook instead of buying food. I chipped in to help as I want to be like Aunty Sim Nee. Greg & Nee on the Go!

Mummy and I cooked the following dishes: Beef pastrami potato salad,

Miso soup

Spaghetti bolognaise

Asam fish

Brussel sprout and mushroom stir fry

Jackie-e-e prepared roasted lambleg with vegetables.

We were so full but we found some space in our tummy to enjoy mama's favorite cake, i.e Tom's delicious Napoleon Cake.

To Carol-e-e and Alie-e-e, look how great the food is ! Wanna try some ???

I Lift Up My Eyes To The Hills

Read this doc on Scribd: I lift Up My Eyes To The Hills

I lift up my eyes to the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
Maker of heaven and earth
For only You can lead me on
My only hope, my all in all
My heart will praise You
O Lord my God

I decided to sing a love song to God this morning, and the Lord rewarded me with a new song. God impressed upon my heart that I needed to lift my eyes to Him.

With so many distractions around us everyday, it is so easy to lose sight of God. It's no wonder many times we find ourselves going round and round in circles without joy, and still cannot figure out how to escape from the maze of disappointment, depression, hatred, lack, stressed and a whole string of negative feelings. In the midst of our daily lives and the tumult of our feelings, we need to remember the words of the Psalmist “I lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” When we turn to God, He will be there to help. That is His promise.

I have experienced this miracle- working God, and I desire to experience the power of God in my life more and more everyday. I hope you will too.

Open Day Sales

The Annual Open Day Sales of Doreen's school is back again today. This year it is a big event for Philip's Dream Team as all of us were involved. After months of preparation, and relentless all-out effort to make it a success, the sale finally hit the road and it was a overwhelming success in generating funds for the school which caters to the education and training of children with intellectual disabilities. Blessed with a perfect weather this morning, the sales kicked off with a big crowd as early as 7.30am.

Our family was up at the crack of dawn and reached the school before 6am to prepare for the sales.

We (the Tan family & the Law family) manned the Lucky Dip Stall. Business was really good. Our best customers were the Boy Scouts.

It is good to see people from all walks of life getting involved in charity work.

Doing charity in a stylish way

Body painting... roaring business as usual

Business in the 2nd hand clothing stall is booming.

Delicious home-made jams and cakes were on sale.

.

2nd hand items, fruits, and handicrafts were among the many varieties of items sold

Even though we were all flat-out after the sales, we are very pleased to have been involved in a worthwhile cause. To everyone who has helped in one way or another we just want to say a big THANK YOU and may God bless you all for your generous support.
