We find it simply amazing that we have been blogging for a year. Don't really know what came over us last March , but we started blogging after returning from our brief holiday in Singapore.
It has been fun to “document” our lives and it is a great way for us to keep in touch with family and friends. We never thought that we would actually enjoy doing this but surprisingly it has been a very rewarding experience for us.
We hope to be able to put up more posts and hopefully Heather and Jordan will also play a greater role in blogging.
It is our hope and prayer that all those who visit our blog will be blessed after the visit. We are basically a simple family loved by God and we hope that thru our lives, we are able to share with you God's love. God has a special plan for everyone and we are really glad that blogging is part of His plan for our lives. Who says God is outdated !!! He is more advance than Bill Gates and all the computer whiz out there.
Thanks for dropping by and we will endeavour to keep this blog alive and well. :-)

You Are Here
You are here in the midst of our praise.
We are here to sing of Your great love.
I lift up my hands, I raise my voice,
to offer my life to You.
I worship You, hail You as King of kings.
Jesus, Your Name is Wonderful.
Jesus, Your Name is Marvelous.
Prince of Peace, Mighty God,
Author of our faith.
My Saviour, I love You.
This song came when I read the book of Isaiah recently. There was a prophecy about the coming Messiah during Isaiah's time, and according to the Bible, Jesus, the Saviour of the world would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isa 9:6)
Somehow, these words just leaped out from the page. Wonderful is not those wonderful days or wonderful dress type of wonderful. It suddenly dawned on me that Jesus is WONDER-ful, literally full of wonders and signs, full of unexpected miracles ! This simply means that Jesus can do a total makeover of your life if you give Him a chance. He can give you a life filled with hope and joy. You are no longer a victim of your circumstances.
To all my friends who are reading this blog, if you have yet to know Jesus, now is the time to believe in Him and have a wonder-ful life !

MARCH H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.S.
House-minding. With Jac's family away in Perth & my parents too, our family shuttles back and forth daily between 2 houses. You should see the number of keys we carry!!!
Overnite stay at Alicia's house. Heather always enjoys the all girls' nite. Uncle Jonathan is completely outnumbered!!!!!
Lessons in balloon twisting. Heather & Jordan had a fun time twisting balloons at Auntie Fiona's place. As far as I know, my kids couldn't even tie a knot on the balloon!!!!All knots tied by Alicia..... the brave one.
Ice-lollies. The weather was soo hot we made ice lollies to cool ourselves.
Drawing. Jordan spent many happy hours drawing aeroplanes. He even downloaded videos of Singapore Airlines A380 inaugural flight. Philip's dream is to take him to London in an A380. We better start printing money .
Anne of Green Gables. Auntie Shirley gave Heather the whole series n she's already transported into Anne Shirley's world. Reading is a great way to spend the hols.
Yesteryears... can't believe it but 15 yrs have gone by in our marriage. Time just flies. We decided to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary at 4 Points by Sheraton. Just wanted to try out the food at the new hotel. This hotel is certainly BIG. So much floor space.
Sushi. 1st attempt at sushi making. Not bad but still need to improve on it.

English Breakfast
Not too long ago, Philip visited Greg's blog and saw the English breakfast Nee prepared for him. Since then he has been dropping heavy hints left & right about having his very own English breakfast.
I am not the type to wake up early to prepare a cooked breakfast. But after much hints and with him breathing down my neck about wanting an English breakfast..... I relented. Talk about a man's perseverance ...especially when it comes to food!!!
Now he is as happy as a lark. Hope this breakfast keeps him happy for a very long time. The only thing missing is “The Daily Telegraph”.

Penning My Thots
One day, while on the way to pick up Heather from school, I was caught in a massive jam. I have always make it a point to pick her a bit late (in order to avoid the jam) but on that day, it was a different story altogether.
Inching my way thru the traffic, I finally reached the school carpark . As I turned into the carpark , I was faced with a predicament. I found myself stuck in the carpark as someone had parked illegally and was nowhere in sight. No matter how I tried to turn the corner , it was impossible. I almost scratched the car next to me . I was getting very irritated after countless of times trying. I thank God the car behind me was very patient. I could see cars behind me backed up all the way down the main road. Heather & her friend tried to help but ended up shaking their heads.
As I sat there fuming, a nice gentleman came to my rescue. I was ready to leap out of the car and let him have the wheel to get me out of the tight spot but he shook his head. He told me “ I will direct you and you go real slow ok?” So with my eyes fixed on him I followed his instructions to a “T”. From my perspective, it looked like I was going to scratch the illegally parked car... but he kept urging me on so I did. Finally ..... I was free, with millimetres to spare. God bless him!!!
Today as I think back, I see that often times our life journey is somewhat similar. We try to avoid getting stuck in a problem but somehow to our chagrin, we are right smack in one and we feel there is no way out. From our point of view, it looks so impossible, but with God nothing is impossible. Sometimes He may send someone to help us . Usually that someone looking from the outside will have a different perspective and with God's wisdom will guide us out of our problem. Sometimes maybe nobody comes along but thru the Holy Spirit and His Word.... we are guided through our problems. The gentleman above was able to help me thru as he sees from a different perspective. I could only see from inside the car and my feeling was gosh... shouldn't have driven the Innova. When we are in a fix , our feelings tend to overwhelm us but be assured God's eye is on His children all the time.
His eye is on the sparrows and He watches over me.

The Friends Connection

We just had a lovely time with Ivan & Chin Ai who flew in from Singapore to have their hols here in Kuching. It was great to see them again and we were actually quite surprised that they took up the offer to visit Kuching. The previous time we met up was last March in Singapore and this round we had a longer time together to do so much more stuff.
When friends get together.... food is usually in the picture. We had plenty of opportunities to eat out and chat . As we spend time together, what really touches me about this dear couple is their love to bring the gospel to others. Their heart for mission is clearly evident.
As we spent time sharing about our lives , we realised that God's fingerprints are all over our lives... even in the moments when we are together. We praise God for connecting us with good friends.
Philip & I are so blessed . We have many friends dear to our hearts. Their lives and love have impacted us greatly and taught us how to be a better person.
