It is God

Who's the one who paints the sunrise?
And makes the splendid sunset?
Who hangs the rainbow high up in the sky?
Whose fingers span the ocean
and who watches o'er the sparrows?
Let me whisper to you, my friend...

It is God. It is God.
The Creator of the universe,
The Awesome and Mighty God.
It is God. It is God.
He watches o'er the universe
and yet He cares for me.
It is God.

Who's the one who makes a plan
to save me from my sins?
To give me a hope and future through His love?
Whose thoughts towards me are great,
and will gladly welcome me?
Let me whisper to you, my friend.

Philip was “commissioned” to write a song for some campus students. We put our heads together and this song was born. We have no idea whether the students would accept the song but we decided to share it on the blog anyway.

We just want to say, “Go tell your friends that the heavens declare the glory of God. His creation points to His existence”. Scientists have over & over again revealed that there is a God. Go check out Lee Stroebel's collection of books. Fantastic reading. Only the fool says that there is no god.

Pour Out Your Spirit

Pour out Your Spirit, Lord,
Pour out Your Spirit, Lord,
Pour out Your Spirit on us.

Like the dry ground receiving water,
that's how our souls are refreshed.
You turn the desert into pools of water,
and the parched ground into springs.
Let our thirst be quenched by Your Presence,
let our hungry hearts be filled.
When we drink of Your Living Water,
We will never be thirsty again.

As I meditate on God's Word this morning, these words from Isaiah 44 jumped out from the pages, and I saw beautiful description of dry ground being filled with water. No more drought, no more lack. This is what I learned about God's pouring of His Spirit:

1.When God pours out His Spirit on dry hearts, our thirst is quenched, our longings are met. Just like the ground does not look dry anymore, we will have a more cheerful countenance, and a more positive outlook. There will be more smiles all around.

2.When God pours out His Spirit on us, His tangible blessings will surround us. This includes the well being of our marriages, our homes, finances, physical health and emotions.

3.The days of His outpouring of Spirit will be like the days described in the book of Acts – miracles, signs and wonders will be a norm. We shall enjoy God's supernatural provision and protection.

I hope this song will encourage you to seek God even more and anticipate His goodness in your life.

It Is Finished

“It is finished” is a triumphant cry on the cross. It is not a cry of failure but a victorious cry that reverberated throughout the universe . This cry of victory is the pathway to which fallen mankind has access to God.

Jesus came to Earth with a mission. To redeem mankind to Himself. In the process destroying satan’s plan.

Jesus had always been very focus and single minded in His mission. He knew what He came for and He knew the suffering He had to endure . He passed every single test because He was obedient to the ways of His Father in heaven. He declared in John, I only do what My Father in heaven tells me to do. He said,” Not my will be done but Thine”.

Even as an infant, the forces of darkness were already at work to destroy Him. Herod ordered the killing of the babies but God had already arranged for Joseph’s family to escape. Before Jesus’ ministry … while in the desert, satan came to tempt Him. Satan had every intention to cause Jesus to fail for he knew that the Son of God had come to Earth for a great purpose which is larger than him. His numerous attempts to derail God’s plan by tempting Christ was totally shattered when Jesus rebuked him with Scriptures. All through Jesus’ ministry, the evil one used people from different sects to attack him and just as he felt he had won by having him nailed to the cross, he realized that God’s plan had outdone him again by way of the empty tomb.

The Bible clearly states that satan has come to rob, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give life and to give it abundantly.(Jn 10:10) The kingdom of darkness is always in opposition to the Kingdom of light. While satan plan to rob, kill and destroy … God’s plan is redemptive in nature. The cross is a display of redemption and restoration . When mankind has no hope, God provided hope. In sickness and pain, God provided healing… for by His stripes we are healed. ( Isaiah 53:4-5) and the Scripture further add ,He became poor so that through His poverty we might become rich. (2 Cor 8:9). The One who is perfect became a curse for us so that He can liberate us from satan’s diabolical plan .Jesus declared in the synagogue that scripture has been fulfilled. Luke 4:18-19. He knew why He came.

From the very beginning, angels given the freewill by God had to choose to live by His plan. Lucifer and his gang failed to use their freewill honourably. Adam failed in the Garden of Eden. Only Jesus passed every testing of His freewill. That is His love for us. He knew His obedience would be an avenue for which man would have HOPE, FAITH and POWER.

In your trials He will provide a way out. Jesus who suffered on the cross has shown us that there is victory. His promise is that we will never be tested beyond our endurance. So my challenge to you is Live Life. We are not just survivors, existing from day to day. We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

How does God bring about your victory? It will be according to His ways. Many times we thought victory can come only in a certain way. Sometimes it can happen that the way we visualize our victory came in exactly the same manner which we hoped it would be. But there are other times when victory came in other ways. In any case, we need to have faith and know deep in our hearts that God in His infinite wisdom knows the road that leads to our victory for His ways are always higher than our ways. (Isa 55:8-9)

As His children, we can have the assurance that our father in heaven has the highest and best intentions for His children. We are a special people who have so much to live for because of Good Friday and Easter.

Indeed “It Is Finished”. How satan must dread those words. He thought he had won when those words fell from Jesus’ lips . Little did he know that he is the one who is finished because of the accomplished works of Christ on the cross.
Alleluia ..glory to our magnificent God.

Happy Easter everyone !

All For Me

The crown of thorns,
the nail scarred hands.
The bloody stripes and His bleeding side.
His death on Calvary,
this precious sacrifice was...

All for me, all for me,
His matchless love,
God's divine plan.
All for me, all for me,
all for me.

As we approach Good Friday, let us meditate on how much God loves us. Love is an action. If it is only words, it counts for nothing. God demonstrated His love for us in an extravagant way – He gave us His all. Yes, His all means His most precious, most valuable, most cherished Son, Jesus Christ. I started to understand a little more about fatherly love since I became a father many years ago. It is amazing to know that God painfully gave up His Son just for us, dying on the cross for our sins, took on himself the shame and punishment for us. This is sacrifice in its ultimate form. He gave His all for us in order that we may have His gift of salvation, saved from eternal death and enter eternal life. This is love, God's love for us. Contrary to the popular mindset of “I want it all”, God is telling you today.... I gave it ALL for you.

Time To Blow The Candles Again

It's really great to have birthdays . Last Friday was mummy's birthday.. We had two dinners. 1 at Mango Tree- just the four of us and one more at home with everyone!! The Mango Tree dinner was great. We ate many things such as prawn satay, pineapple rice, green curry ,mushroom salad and best of all, the dessert.. ice-cream with glutinous rice.. Then, there was the dinner at home.. I didn't really help to cook because I didn't have the mood to cook.. haha but the dinner was great! The best part was of course the birthday cake.. We had the Napoleon cake from Tom's.

Before I forget, mummy's friends also took her out to Beccari for dinner (that means 3 dinners hehe). When you celebrate your birthday at Beccari, you will be given a complimentary cake. When my birthday comes, I'll order one cake from Aunty Sim Nee and I'll go to Beccari for dinner so I can get another free cake.. haha

It was absolutely great to celebrate mummy's birthday this time.
