Day 181 Friday29th June: Today is the day I go to the "Minerva Centre" to meet some of the group for coffee. Unfortunately not many people came today. This happens sometimes but we always make sure there is someone there to greet any one who can get.
I met a new member who lives at Ingol where I used to live before I met Roland, Lynne the support worker was there and Keith arrived later (just as Lynn and I were thinking of leaving). We stayed longer to chat with him which was just as well because I thought Roland was coming at 12.30 and he thought I was ringing him so it was after 2pm before I got home.
I then went and did some holiday shopping and popped in to see a friend I'd not spoken to for a while. She works in the local computer shop which doubles up as a craft shop so of course I had to buy something while I was there.
I'd had a cup of Earl Gray tea while I was at the Minerva so I've been hyperactive this afternoon and got lots done including some dead heading of the flowers in the front garden.
Jane also came over to look at some photos we had had printed and stayed with the two little ones for a while.
I think my days seem to go from one extreme to the other.

Day 180 Thursday 28th June: Not a great deal happening today. Roland and Pete finished the fence today. They had help from the neighbour on our other side, an ex soldier and very fit, so they got it done very quickly.
I used to teach Chris in primary school so I've known him a long time. His parents moved in next door quite a while ago but had decided to move on now their children have all grown up.
I was worried about who would move in when they left because they have been such good neighbours. We had some good news a few weeks ago, though. Chris is getting married in September and is buying the house from his mum and dad, so no wories anymore.

The prompt today is difficult for me as I really had no idea what to do. I'm not going anywhere and not seeing anyone today. The men had finished the fence before I saw the prompt so I was stumped.

Day 179 Wednesday 27th June: Were home and busy again. Roland was out in the garden with our neighbour putting new fences in. I had a lie in and then Claire took me to the Craft group in the afternoon. The lady behind the counter remembered that I was glutenfree and made sure there were some gluten free cakes for me. There were only 4 of us today but it was a lovely afternoon.

The prompt today is Weathered so I chose this photo.

The Frost has done this to my plantpot.
The plants need taking out and the soil needs replacing
But I daren't do anything yet as the pot will fall to bits when I do anything with it.

Day 178 Tuesday 26th June: Well home today. We had a problem with the WiFi at the Hotel so I left  downloading my blogs until today.

Before we set off for home we called in Melrose, a town I love. we had a coffee and went to look at a National Trust garden at Harmony House.
On the way for a coffee Roland saw something that he thought was suitable for

Still life

 Three gardeners weeding a flowerbed

We called in to see our friends in Gretna  for a cup of tea, then set off for home.

Day 177. Monday 25th June: We went to Edinburgh today. We travelled to the edge of Edinburgh and went in on the Park and Ride. The weather was lovely all day so we could have a good walk round. We found the records office so when we go back again Roland can do the family research on his family from Aberdeen.
We walked down Royal Mile. and went to Princess Street. Princess Street was being taken up as there are new tramlines being fitted. It was very noisy with lots of machines. One of them was a line painting machine. There was a fire on the back to heat the paint.

Day 176 Sunday 24th June: The prompt today is very appropriate for us. We met Jen and the boys at Thirlstane Castle, here in Lauder. We had a great time playing in the play area and going round the castle. Christopher was given a sheet to write down where he found the tiny Eagles in each room we went in. When he had found them all there was a piece of chocolate for him and one for Alistair. We had great fun looking for the eagles and then mummy wrote where they were in each room. There was also a nursery with a section where they could play with some toys and dress up. It was great fun. At Lunch time we all came back to the Hotel and had a meal, then we had to say goodbye to them. Jen said they would both sleep on the way home.

Pleasure
Playing with the children and watching them play is of great pleasure to us.

Day 175 Saturday 23rd June: We set off this morning to travel up to Lauder in Scotland we are staying at the Black Bull on the High Street. Jen and family live near Lauder. As soon as we had booked in, seen the room and left the suitcase we went off to visit them.
It was so lovely to see them. We really miss Jen anyway since she moved. Christopher had grown a lot, I can't believe he is starting school in September Alistair will be starting pre school then as well so life will be a lot easier for Jim and Jen.
Even though we had talked to Alistair on Skype and the phone he was shy at first. The afternoon was lovely so we played out in the garden most of the time. Jim was busy with his dad fitting windows into a building so we didn't see him until the evening when he made us a lovely meal.
We were both very tired when we got back to the hotel. I found the bed very comfortable and went to sleep straight away but Roland said he didn't settle until he had thrown both the pillows off the bed.

In The Garden

The prompt today is Nature
I didn't take this one today but I did take it this month.

Day 174 Friday 22nd June: What a day today. A perfect day for "Sunshine" -  I think not.
The prompt made me think of our holidays in Wales when the children were young. I was bringing up the children on my own and found taking holidays difficult especially as I had no car so we went away with friends from church for a year or two and it usually rained. We would still go round and about and the rain was called "Liquid Sunshine"

So here are my photos of todays  Liquid "Sunshine"

The kitchen window view

The view over the park

The Council dug the ditch a couple of years ago
to stop water draining from the park into the bungalow gardens.
I bet today the bungalows are pleased that ditch was dug.
Just behind our house the large puddle is a depression in the ground that fills up with water when it rains. The council have said they will make into a proper pond sometime
On the other side of the path which has also become a little stream.
I'm not surprised no one is walking down the park.

Stop Press
The ditch at 7.30pm tonight.
I think the liquid sunshine is going to get into those gardens this evening.

Today the electrician came and fitted plugs in the kitchen alcove - the finale is getting nearer.
Also I went to Tarleton to do some scrapbooking at Stampers Gallery. I made two more layouts of the two grandchildren over in Cornhill on Tweed, Christopher and Alistair. It is Alistairs  2nd birthday today and we are going up for few days tomorrow morning. We are really looking forward to going as we haven't seen them since the beginning of December.

Day 173 Thursday 21st June. Same but different Day 7. Well it's the last day of same but different and I think I'm ready to stop. I found doing it enjoyable but hard going towards the end.

It's been rainy today so we couldn't get out. Naughty Clown, Jack and Jill decided to get up to mischief indoors.

They decided to explore the loft

Berty Basset and Grumpy Dog live in the loft and sent them straight back downstairs

Next they went into the bathroom and found the shower.
Jill is getting very good at climbing
And Naughty Clown is trying to close the door.

Naughty clown tried to put Jack in the dirty linen basket
But Jill said he was to stop as it was unkind

Jack was very pleased he had been rescued

They went into the living room (they had never been in there before)
and found a whole crowd of new friends.
Jack has made friends with Holly Hobby
Is Romance in the air

Star Bright, who is in charge of all the toys, had come home from holiday
And was not very pleased with the Naughty Toys.
She sent them to bed early
and stayed to make sure they went to sleep

Is this the end of their Antics?????

Day 172. 20th June: We won't need to cook tonight as we went out for a meal at lunch time with our next door neighbours. Stephanie looks after Stella for us when we go away and Peter and Roland do things together, like mending our fences or moving furniture for the ME group.
Yesterday Catherine said she thought I should make a book about the adventures of Naughty clown, Jack and Jill so think I might do one for the grandchildren.

Same but different Day 6

This is what they were up to this morning
Practising gymnastics. Are they planning to run away to join the circus?
And how is Jack going to get down?

This afternoon while we were out
they came down stairs and found the grandchildrens toy box

Then later on we had left the garden door open and they found their way outside.

Roland and Peter had taken the fence down to put a new one up so Naughty Clown, Jack and Jill went to have a close look to see what was going on and of course had to practise Gymnastics again.

They had never been to the bottom of the garden before
so they went to have a look at what was down there and have a swing on the gate.

Then they had a sunbathe on the Forest Flame as they were getting tired
They are now upstairs fast asleep.

Day 171. Tuesday 19th June: Well we had a great outing today. We decided to go to have a look at flooring for the kitchen that we had found on the web. It was a good job we did as some of the samples didn't look like the pictures and if the samples had been posted to us we would have been disappointed.
The shop was in Poynton, South of Manchester, so it was a good run. We decided we had better take the toys with us  as we wouldn't know what they would get up to while we were out.

Same but Different Day 5

We found the shop with out any difficulty and started choosing flooring that would match our units.
We had taken a piece of wood left over from the fitting.

Jack and Jill and Naughty clown helped to choose the flooring we liked.
but then they got bored and started playing

Naughty clown sat in the Bosses chair
He thinks he is the boss, anyway.

Jill was running around on top of the rolls of carpet
and fell head first inside one.

Then Jack and Jill found a drawer to rest in.

They all made friends with Matt, the shop assistant.

Then Jack and Jill decided to swing from one of the carpet displays.
We had chosen our flooring and left the kitchen measurements  for the boss to work out how much
flooring we will need
and decided it was time to go as the toys were getting really naughty.

Before we went home we went for a coffee in the shop next door to the  carpet shop.

Naughty Clown was still feeling very mischievious as you can see.

Anyway he settled down and shared a big cup of cappachino with Jack and Jill

We let them travel home in the back of the car
so they could see everything we were passing.

When we got home Jack, Jill and Naughty Clown decided
they'd had a very good day out
and now it was time for a rest.
