3 Pulled Teeth...

So Rebecca had to have 3 teeth pulled today because her adult teeth are growing in behind her baby teeth. At least her 2 bottom ones were. She had to have the top one pulled too (you know the yucky yellow one) because it was starting to get an infection. Apparently if the teeth get loose and don't come out, food can get down deep in the gums and cause infection. Sounds right...but never even thought about it. These teeth have been loose for while now..months.
She was very excited to get them pulled so the Tooth Fairy would come. Not scared at all. Said the shot(s) didn't hurt and it "Was COOL!". She's like me...LOVES the dentist. Here are some before and after photos....

Before leaving the house...one last shot of a full mouth of Baby Teeth.

Second row of Adult teeth coming in.

So proud of herself

Swollen lips from the shots

What a pretty little smile!
She's gonna be a rich little girl tomorrow. I see a shopping trip in our future.

Finally an Update....

Before we moved I took Rebecca and two of her BFF's to the movies to see ICE AGE in 3D. What a cute movie. It's definitely a 'buyer' when it comes out.

Before the movie we ate lunch a Johnny Rockets....one of my favorite burger places. I just love the 50's atmosphere.

Before school was out Rebecca got an award and a certificate for our favorite Mexican place in Bakersfield (Mauricios) so we went an collected that. There was a reason I packed up all the pots and pans...Ha!

Becca and her daddy.

These pictures crack me up. Who needs toys when you have packing paper?? The kids had a blast and it was fun watching. I love that I caught her in the jumps.

Then below I got just yesterday cause I thought they were just cute. She's so tired from having so much fun with all her friends here....her cat too. Don't you love her new bed set?? Clearance at Target...I LOVE IT! We painted her room pink if you can't tell.

So we made it back to Hemet. Joe left for Sacramento this morning. Rebecca and I are sad about it. We've never been away from him for extended periods of time so it'll be an adjustment. I feel somewhat selfish for taking this job and causing him to go work without us. But we knew one day this day would come and it would have to happen. Rebecca is getting big now and the moving is hard on her...and expensive. She 'required' a few things on this move...or should I say demanded...LOL. She asked for a house with stairs (we got one with a loft that houses her playroom-everything else is downstairs). She wanted her room painted pink and redecorated. So all of that is accomplished and looks super cute. All things I was going to do anyway...but she doesn't know that. Ha! I think this move would've been harder on her if it was somewhere new.

My job is going GREAT! It's everything I was doing before as a Volunteer for Relay except now it's 4 Relays and I get paid for it. I LOVE IT! I'm a Relay Manager for the American Cancer Society (for those of you who read and don't know) and I'm managing Chino CA, Chino Hills CA, Riverside CA and La Sierra CA Relays. Relay For Life is a community event run by it's volunteers, so my job is to support them and make sure they have the tools they need to reach the goals they set for themselves and those the ACS sets for them. My Chino Relay is on the 1st and they have everything under control, which is good since it's so close the Relay day. The others will need a little bit more help but are all doing well. Chino is the only Relay left to complete before August 31 which is the end of Relay season. So in September they are all starting fresh and I'm looking forward to them.

Another reason I'm going to love this job so much is that you work from Home a lot if your not out in your communities. So even though I have my own office, I'll really only go in there once a week or so for a couple of hours to replenish supplies, make copies, etc. So I don't have to be too concerned with a sitter for Rebecca before school starts August 24th. When I do though, I have great friends who have offered to watch here when needed. Tomorrow for instance, she's going with me to the office and out to my community. Thursday she's going to an evening meeting with me to the La Sierra Event Chairs house who has a 6 year old as well. It's nice to be able to do that.

School: Ugh...what a dilemma this has been for me. There was little good I had to say about Bakersfield. But one of them was the school. FABULOUS! Rebecca excelled there and now coming back to Hemet, where the public schools are not as great, has put me in a situation. There are a couple of fairly good schools to put her in, my problem is the student to teacher ration...which is a problem throughout the state and not just here. I really do not want to see Rebecca take a backseat because she is smart so the teachers can work with those who need extra help and time. So we have decided to put her in Private School at Community Christian (where she went to Pre-K). I looked into different ones and I think this one works best for us. Plus they have a great after school program on those few days I won't be able to pick her up right at 3:00. So on Monday I'll go over there and get her registered.

Anyway...that's our update. Will do a better job of keeping this blog up.

Time for an update...

It's been a while. We've got lots of photo's and news.
First, last week my Sister In Law Lori came to town and we went down to San Diego and Coronado Island and fell in love with the place. It is so beautiful! We took Rebecca down to the beach and we all had a great time. I've finally found a beach in California I love and can't wait to go back to. We stayed at a nice little place that was very affordable and was walking distance to it all. We met up with my 2 Nephews (Justin and Stephan) and Andrea and had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. And the next night we stayed at his place and he BBQ'd Carne Asada...or in Texas...Fajitas. Here's a slide show:

Lori really needed a vacation. She's still really dealing with the loss of my brother in September (we all are really) and I think this really did her some good. I hope so anyway. It did me good that's for sure.
Now the NEWS....I GOT A JOB! Whoot Whoot! Starting July 6th, I'll be a Relay For Life manager with the American Cancer Society. It kinda of just fell in my lap. My staff partner called and told me there was an opening and to put in my resume. I did, had a phone interview, then drove down for a panel interview on Monday and then on Friday they offered me the job. I'm still waiting to see which areas I'll be over, but looking forward to it. So...we're moving back to Hemet in 2-3 weeks. I've already found a rent house (we've got 3 offers on our house there that we're short selling so not moving back in there) so hopefully that'll sell soon. Our goal is to be debt free in 1 year...2 at the very most.
Here's a few more pictures from my great friends daughters bday party.

She loves the water...pool or beach

We're here...

I just don't have any pictures. Why...hmmm, well I lost my battery charger for my camera and had to find another on Ebay since they don't seem to sell them anymore. It's funny...a two year old camera and it's already out of date. Oh well, it's taken me 2 years to figure it out and like it. I'm not getting another one anytime soon.

School is out if I didn't already mention that in a previous post. We spent some time in Hemet last week. Had some drama with my former tenants, but it's all said and done now...hopefully. I've chalked it up to a lesson learned and will NEVER rent another house again to people. It was pretty gross to say the least.

Rebecca starts vacation bible school at the Baptist church tomorrow for the week. It was free and I think she'll like it. She's been asking a lot of questions lately that I just can't answer...hopefully they can. Ha! Joe grew up in Catholic schools and such and he can't answer them either. I don't feel so bad. Ha!

Rebecca's been ice skating 3 times in the last 2 weeks and is pretty dang good at it. Joe said yesterday that she can go backwards really well. I'm going to sign her up for classes this month for July. But I can't until next week at the earliest. They have classes going until the 25th. Joe took her back roller skating today but she only went around once and said it wasn't as easy as ice skating and didn't want to do it anymore. She's making excuses of why we need to take her ice skating more instead of roller skating. I told her there was a HUGE price difference in the two...twice the price difference. It was her idea too to go roller skating. Oh well.

Whatelse? Nothing..that's what. My sister-in-law is coming out on Monday to visit for a few days. She needs to get away for a while. She's been working non stop since my brother died. I'm going to take her down to San Diego to visit my nephew and his baby boy. Maybe do Sea World. She wants to go see Hollywood and since that's free...we will. I don't know what else we'll do, probably the beach too. Hopefully my camera charger gets here so I can take pictures.

Well that's about it for now. Talk to you all soon!

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Rebecca wanted to give her 2 teachers a present on the last day of school. So I 'stole' the idea from another mom (Thanks for letting me steal it Katie!). So this is what we came up with from with her idea. I hope the teachers enjoy it.

It's beach theme. There's a beach towel, bottle of water, good book, candy, a starfish and a Beach plaque.
Also yesterday, Rebecca got an award for Excellent Writer for Kindergarten. She didn't know she was getting it and was so shy up there.

Rebecca has been into rollar skating and ice skating lately. We took her ice skating twice over the weekend and she took to it like she's been doing it forever. If we're still in Bakersfield in July I'm signing her up for 6 weeks of classes. I didn't get any pictures of ice skating, but some from skating. (I took the wrong lense and some came out blurry...dang it!)

And at school last week she had a track meet. So cute!! Here's a couple of her lining up for the 100 yard dash. These kids were so cute you couldn't help but laugh at them. Rebecca participated in the 100 yard dash where she came in 3rd and the Relay and her team came in 4th.

And last but not least yesterday we became gardeners! Kind of. Rebecca's been learning about where our food comes from. So yesterday we went and bought 2 tomatoe plants, 2 sweet pepper plants and tomatoe and squash seeds to plant. We'll see if we can grow anything and document along the way.

Mother's Day Celebration at school...

Here's a few pictures I took at Rebecca's Kindergarten Mother's Day Celebration. It was so cute. We started in the library where we got a packet that said 'Tiffany & Co' on the outside. Inside was a gold bead necklace with a heart on it. Too cute! Then we were off to the classroom where we had a flower lei headband to wear and a couple of older kids there with a sweet poem for us. Then they sent us off to the office where we picked up another packet that was actually a handmade purse with goodies in it (ie: tissue, bandaid, peppermint, keys with a picture of them, and a few other items). Then off to the auditorium. It was super cute. They sang about 15 songs and did a lot of sign language while doing it. They showed us a slideshow of them preparing for it. Just a really cute and fun day. They were so proud of themselves. I only have pictures of before hand because I video taped the rest of it. Sorry!

Why???

Why is it that during the day I'm so tired but come 11:00 at night I get a burst of energy and can't find myself in bed before 1am??? I want to go to bed. When I put Rebecca down at 8:30 I could totally fall asleep with her. But I get up, spend some time with Joe and it's like I've had 5 cups of coffee. Even then I have to force myself to bed because I have to get up by 6:30...we'll I snooze 98% of the time until 7. Why?

Rest in Peace Kayleigh Anne Freeman...

You were one strong little girl! You had more fight in you in 11 short months than most people have in their entire lives. You are an inspiration to millions. Thanks to the Freeman family for sharing their story with us.

Teacher Appreciation Week...

As Room Mom for Rebecca's class, it's my job to make sure the teachers get a nice gift for Teacher Appreciation week. I asked the parents who were able to, to donate $25 for the gifts. About half of the class was able to give so that was nice.
This was a fun project...even though I started very late. Our school is celebrating this week, instead of next. I think there was some confusion on which week it was. I thought it was next week..but non the less our teachers (we have 2) are getting a great gift baskets (who cares what week it is! They deserve it!) filled with Tastefully Simple desserts, Gold Canyon Candles (Grape...yum) and each one will get a $100.00 Visa gift card. And a couple of little things. But what I love the most are the 2 8x8 photo albums my friend Melissa and I made for them. I had a picture of each kid that I've taken over the year. I thought it would be cute to do a scrapbook with each kid and their name so that they can look back on this year. They turned out GREAT! Here's a couple of pictures...well more than a couple!

The cute baskets! I love doing these.

I also made 2 handmade cards to hold the gift cards.

Inside of the card.

The front of the card. Plain, but still cute.

The front cover of the book. I love all the ribbon on the binding. I was excited to finally use my Zutter Bind-It-All that I've been neglecting. Took me a bit to remember how to use it. I screwed it up a couple of times. But was able to mask the mistakes pretty well.

This is the poem I put on the inside of the book. I love it. The pictues aren't that great but you get the idea.
