Happy New Year's!

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Years. Hope your 2006 is better than 2005!
We're having pretty quiet plans tonight. Going over to Rachel and Dana's to play poker, eat appetizers and 'try' and stay awake long enough to see in the new year. We haven't seen the last several-but with a little one that's expected. We're getting enough sleep now that it's a possiblity this year!
We love you all and we'll talk to you again next year!

A Very Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had a very nice one. To start off-Rebecca woke at about 7:30. We all went in to see if Santa came...HE DID!! We opened and opened and opened presents. She was really a good girl this year! She got A LOT of Dora the Explorer stuff, a Barbie Learning Laptop, a Barbie Guitar, several new movies, a couple of Little People sets, a blanket, new books, several baby dolls and a new Thomas train track. Last year she didn't get near as much, but instead got a few big items like her tricycle and TV w/DVD. This year she got a lot more, but nothing too much with the exception of her bedding that I got her that came from the Christmas budget but not really a Christmas present. That I got a really good deal on so it hardly cost anything. But she is really enjoying everything and playing with it all!
And once again, Joe surprised the heck out of me this year! I have been wanting a new setting for my wedding ring for a while now. It's yellow gold and I really want a white gold setting. When we picked it out (8 years ago) I loved it, but over the years I've started to want a change. So this morning he got up and said he was going to get gas in his truck and clean it out, I thought that was strange-but whatever. And bless his heart he came back with this new ring. It's not a new setting, rather a ring for my right hand...I love it!!! We also took in my wedding ring this morning/afternoon to have it dipped in white gold-how exciting. I really love my ring and this was the perfect solution to my situation. I never realized they could do it that easily. It'll be ready in a couple days.
And Joe got some new music equipment he's been wanting for a long time. It's going to help record his own music through the computer. For those of you who don't know...he's a guitar player and writes his own music.
In the evening we went over to our friends (Dana and Rachel) for dinner with them and their families. It was very nice and the food was excellent. As you can see from the pictures above...the one with Rebecca and Makenzie...they were putting on a show for us. Makenzie got a new keyboard from Santa and she was playing 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' (among others) on the keyboard, while Rebecca was singing. They were great!!! Rebecca loved the attention. Guess we need to get her into singing lessons...she may be the next 'American Idol'!
And last but not least, Mr. White Kitty had a good Christmas too-being LAZY! He was so comfortable on the back of the couch. He's a lot of fun!

Rebecca with Santa Clause

Well after weeks of talking about him, and going up to the mall to see him, we finally got her to take a picture with the 'Big Guy'! Normally we go up there and I'd say "Look Rebecca, there's Santa! You want to go sit on his lap?" She says "No Thank You!" and hides her face like she's scared or shy or both. Then yesterday we went to get her some new shoes (which she's wearing) and once again I said "Rebecca, do you want to go see Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas?" and she said "OK!" I was shocked. Boy he was a good Santa too! If I didn't know better, he may just be the real thing! He told her he loved her and asked her what she wanted. She told him too....Dora! Then he gave her a lollipop made from 'snow from the North Pole' and she was as happy as could be. I almost cried when I saw this picture. Just the fact that she took a chance to sit on this man called Santas lap...it really lifted my spirits...this is what Christmas is about-KIDS!! Then last night we went to Joes company party and there was another Santa. This time she didn't even hesitate. She went right up to him and asked for her present-which he was handing out. I got a picture of that too, I'll post that one after I get it off the camera! Enjoy!

We Officially have a Kitty!

Mr. White Kitty is officially ours! I say that because since yesterday I've spent a ton of money on him and I dare anyone to come and say he's there's. I've given them almost a full 3 months to claim him and they haven't. Even the Veterinarian agrees with me.
Yesterday, he went and had a 'day at the spa' and got a flea dip and his nails clipped at the groomers. He is so fluffy and white and soft and he smells so good. And today he went to the Vet and got all of his shots (except a follow up shot he gets in 3 weeks) and all of his tests came back good. So he's got a clean bill of health. That gives me such relief especially since he's around Rebecca. Now we can really play with him and not have to worry if we get a little scratch or love bite, not that he's done any of those things yet.

A bunch of Pictures

Here's some pictures from this week! The bedding is an early Xmas present from Joe and I. I love it! The bean bag chair is from her Grandma and Grandpaw in Montana. She loves it and so do I. It's very comfortable. The one with the tree is the one we took for our Christmas cards. Her and the snowman is cute. Santa actually came to our apartments on a sleigh collecting Toys for Tots. She wouldn't take a picture with Santa but she had no problem taking on with the Snowman and the reindeer that I didn't include in this group. And finally the one with her in her crown is just her playing and being silly and cute. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Rebecca and Mr. White Kitty

Here is Rebecca and our adopted neighborhood cat "Mr. White Kitty". This cat had been hanging around our apartment when we moved in but would never let us pet him. He was pretty wild. But over the course of a few weeks to a month or so I finally gained his trust and he started coming in and eating. Then one day he let me pet him and he's been around ever since. I believe he belonged to my neighbors that live next to me up stairs, but they've since moved and left him here. I have to say much to my delight. I really like this cat. He's very appreciative. Example: His friend Mr. Black Kitty comes over to eat also (he definitely has owners) and when Black Kitty comes over he heads straight to the food bowl, no hi, hello or anything. BUT Mr. White Kitty comes in and he wants love first before he eats and then he sticks around for more love afterwards. Where Mr. Black Kitty either leaves or goes to sleep. We're going to take Mr. White Kitty with us to our new home when we leave.
About a month ago or so, I went to the shelter and adopted a 3 year old cat, but she just wasn't what we wanted. What I wanted was a cat like him. So we took her back to the shelter, the neighbors moved out and now White Kitty is ours! Yeah!! He's great. We are really enjoying him. He still goes out at night, but he's always at the back door when we get up in the morning. Rebecca always lets him in and says "Mornin pretty White Kitty!" As we get closer to our move date, I'll make sure that his owners are really gone and then take him to the vet and make sure he's up on vaccinations and get him neutered. I'm undecided on declawing him or not since he likes to go outside. What do you think? Is it mean to declaw a cat? Your opinions are appreciated since I'm sitting on the fence on this issue. Enjoy the picture!

These days are over!

Remember this picture I posted last year in this blog? Well it's the last one I took of her with her 'Binky' and as of yesterday morning...the last one you'll see with her and that dreaded 'Binky'. We took it away and it's been successful! Last night she wanted it and cried for about 15-20 minutes begging me to go get it. I told her that the kitty took it outside and buried it in the dirt (yes, I wanted her mad at the innocent cat and not me. What can I say?). She wanted me to go out and get the Black Kitty to find it. See we have a white kitty that I've pretty much adopted and his friend that hangs out here all the time with White Kitty is Black Kitty. That's what we've named them: Black Kitty and White Kitty...anyway...I told her it was too late and that the binkys were gone for good and she'd be ok since she was such a big girl and didn't need them anymore. Well that really didn't help and she threw a fit and finally ended up crying herself to sleep. Every morning she gets up and comes to my room and wakes me up. This morning she came in and said "Binky all Gone!" and was ok with it. I had told her last night that if she went to bed with out it like a big girl that we'd go to Chuck E Cheese as her reward. Then nap time rolled around and she was pretty cranky and getting her to nap with out it was a struggle. But she did take a nap and by the time she woke up I wasn't up for going out to lunch. I feel badly for not taking her, but I will this week. BUT...tonight when she went down for bed it was as if she had been with out it forever!!! I'm so proud!! 8:45 rolled around and I told her it was bedtime and she said "OK" went and kissed her daddy goodnight, crawled into bed and fell right asleep...no problems at all.
Another thing that she has done just since today is she doesn't want to sleep with her favorite blanky. She's been sleeping with a blanket that her Aunt Chelsea made me for Christmas 2 years ago that Rebecca adopted as her own. She hasn't gone to bed with out this blanket since we got it and all of a sudden at nap time today she didn't want it anymore. Maybe she thinks it's no good with out the binky...who knows? So tonight, she still didn't want it and went to sleep under her sheet and comforter for the first time ever...like a big girl. Once again I'm very proud.
Anyway, all this binky success is because of Dana, my friend Rachels husband. So thank you Dana for your help. Thank you for giving me such a hard time about it that it finally pushed me into taking it away from her. What got me though really is I went over to their house yesterday to borrow a tree stand (since Joe threw ours away) and I told him that I took it away from her. He asked me if I threw them in the trash and I said "No, I put them in the drawer just in case I couldn't handle it". He laughed and said I'd end up giving them back to her because I'm a sucker. WELL...I had to prove a point. I don't like it when someone tells me I can't do something. Now granted it's only been two days and the binkys are still in the drawer but there's no going back for me now. We will remain binky free! Thanks again Dana and Rachel-We did it!

Some Christmas shopping done...

Why is it that this time of year rolls around and everyone but me is happy about it? Is something wrong with me? I never look forward to Christmas and I would love to. I try, but I just can't. I need to for Rebecca's sake. Every year I find a reason why I don't get into it. Last year it was because we couldn't go home. This year I think it's because we won't be into our new house. This apartment is so small I barely found room for the tree. With some rearranging and shoving things into our store room (which is the 2nd bathroom), I finally found room for it. Is there such thing as a 'Holiday Therapist'? Ugh!
With that said, I did go shopping with one of my dearest and best friends...the infamous Rachel. She can get anyone into the mood...she's jollier than Santa Clause himself. She LOVES Christmas and is just what I need to light a fire under my butt and get me going. Granted I've only bought things for Rebecca, but it's still a start. So Rachel if you read this...Thank you for being such a great friend! I love ya! Next year will be much better! I promise!! Hopefully some of our families can come out and celebrate it with us in our new home next year?
This year, since we're not going home again, we've been invited over to Rachels house and celebrate with her family and her husband Dana's family. We look forward to meeting them...at least the ones we haven't met yet.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent...I feel much better!

Pictures as promised!

Some pictures of Rebecca being her cute self and one of our Christamas tree that we just put up today-not the best looking tree, but a Christmas tree none the less. I wonder if this will put me in the spirit?....Enjoy!
PS...the Thanksgiving pictures didn't turn out...sorry!

A great Thanksgiving!

If you can't spend Thanksgiving with your family, spend it with the next best thing...great friends! First off, my poor Joe spent it by his lonesome (his choice-he thought it was too long of a drive just to have dinner), but he did prepare himself a Thanksgiving dinner, so that was good. Rebecca and I scooted off to San Jose and spent it with my dear friend Roz and her family. It was really nice to see them all again, especially Roz and most of my friends from my moms group. It was nice to see the kids and how much they've changed in 2 months. I can't wait to see them again!
Roz ordered dinner from Marie Calendars. It was good, but of course we added our own touches. And as with all dinners, there were plenty of left overs! Rebecca had a great time being back at the only place she has called home for so long. She even rode her bike to our old apartment and wondered why she couldn't go in. That was really sad. She played with Lindsay and Olivia (Roz' 2 teenage granddaughters) and had a blast! She also played with Peanut, Roz' puppy dog or puppy gog as Rebecca would say. All in all it was a great relaxing holiday.
Last year we went to Montana and had Thanksgiving with Joes mom and dad. I did miss being there this year. It would've been nice to spend time with them. And our plans for Christmas are still way up in the air. We would like to go back to Texas and get our house there packed up for the move to our new house here. But the close date is still pending and already postponed once and we don't know if it'll be postponed again. Right now it's scheduled to be completed on January 12th, but I don't know if it will close before then or after completion. I have a couple calls in this morning to hopefully get those questions answered.
Well I do have pictures to post, but I'll do that after I unpack and get a bit more organized...which means in a few days! Talk to you then! Hope your holiday was great too!

I'm a proud mom!

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Nascar. And if you've been reading this blog you know that I just got back from going to a race last weekend. Well apparently while I was gone Joe and Rebecca watched the race too and now Rebecca loves it. The day I got back I gave her a little toy race car that I got for her and she automatically said "Race Car!" And every commercial she sees on TV that has a car on it is also a race car. Well as usual on Sunday's I put the race on and she just sat in the floor and watched it. I was so proud.
So I told Joe that I think it is time to take her to a real race. There is one in Las Vegas on March 12th (which just so happens to be my birthday) and there is also one very close to here in Fontana in September. We'll definitely be going to that one since she'll be 3 by then and hopefully more controllable. About a month ago we took her to a little race track in Perris where the local guys race, and she loved it! So I think she would really enjoy this. However...this race is long and who knows if it'll keep her attention long enough to watch it. That's the only thing I wonder about because even though she's little her ticket is full price...maybe we'll just get the cheap seats!

Lazy week

Well it's been a lazy week around the Pizzitola house. It looks like a lazy weekend too so far. Joe is having a semi-long weekend. I say that because he did go into work for a few hours yesterday. With him being home yesterday for most of the day it has my days messed up. I keep thinking today is Sunday, but it's only Saturday...that's always good. I wouldn't be happy if it were Sunday and I thought it was only Saturday.
Anyway, hope all is well with everyone.

Great Weekend

Well my weekend at the NASCAR race was fun (and very tiring)! I'll start at the beginning...
I had to get up at 3:30 west coast time. I got into Dallas at around 1:45. My friend Leslie picked me up and we went to Whataburger (one of my very favorite burger places). From there we went to about 40 different Wal-Marts looking for a cooler on wheels. We never found one at Wal-Mart, but eventually did find one at Academy Sports. This is actually one of the only sporting events that will let you bring in your own drinks and food. I figure since you're spending 100.00+ dollars on tickets (per person), they'll give you a break on that. But if you don't bring you're own, you pay $5 for a 20 oz. Coke and $5 on a corn dog.
Anyway, after that we went to the race track where we met up with her family who had the trailer we were staying in. We ate some BBQ and then went walking around. This place was just crazy with all the partiers! There was an area that I called the Mardi Gras area where people where throwing beads and shouting "Show me your tits!"...no worries...I came home with no beads! So after watching those fools being idiots we went on to an area that actually had a live band. These people who brought their own travel trailer (which was painted in the Dale Earnhardt Jr motif-#8) brought all their band equipment and set it up like a concert outside and even sold their own T-Shirts. They were pretty good and had a large crowd, but I tell you I would've hated to be their neighbors. Not only the loud music, but all the drunks out there shouting and carrying on, would've probably ticked me off. Anyway, we stuck around listening to the music and watching all the silly people and finally went to bed at around 3:30 am.
I got up at around 8:30...Talking about tired!!!! We showered and got dressed, which ended up being an event all it's own. The bathroom in that travel trailer is as small as a standard refridgerator. Then we walked up to the track to do a little shopping. I got Rebecca and Joe and myself T-Shirts. After that we headed up to our seats...which were excellent! The pre-race ceremony's started and then the race. I had really high hopes that my guy, Jeff Gordon-#24, would do good, but as usual when he races at Texas he just has no luck. The good thing is that at least he didn't wreck. He started 2nd and ended up finishing 14th. But the race was still good. I like to see more wrecks, I think they're exciting, but there weren't any. There were a few spin outs but that's it. Carl Edwards-#99 ended up winning. So after the race we walked back to the trailer, pack up our things and headed to a hotel near the airport since I had to get up early once again to catch my 6 am flight.
I got home at 10:00 am and when I pulled in Joe and Rebecca were outside waiting for me. She was so excited she came running to me, fell off the sidewalk, landed on her face and busted her top and bottom lips open. Thank god she didn't lose any teeth or break any bones. So after we got her cleaned up and calmed down Joe headed off to work. THEN...it never stops...Later on she ended up locking herself in her room (I didn't know she had a lock on her door). So I had to tear the door knob off the door and when I got it opened, the wrench I had in my hand fell out and landed on her face. The poor thing is all beat up! She's such a trooper!
Anyway, that was my weekend. I really missed Joe and Rebecca. I always go to the races with Joe and although I had fun, it just wasn't the same with out him. I don't think I'll go again with out him.
OH yeah...I forgot the camera! So no pictures until I can get some emailed to me from the others!

Gentlemen...Start Your Engines!

Oh my gosh, I am so excited! I am off to Dallas tomorrow to meet up with one of my longtime best friends to go to the NASCAR race. She had an extra ticket (her husband decided he didn't want to go) and asked me to join her. So I'm off to a weekend with just the girls. Her brother-in-law and his wife have a 5th wheel that we'll be staying in right at the track. No getting up at 4:00 am to drive to the track to try to avoid the traffic of the other 250,000 people trying to get there.
Texas Motor Speedway has been open now for about 8 years or so. But this is the first year that there is a race in November. When this track was built it was under the impression that they would have 2 races a year, but Nascar didn't come through...So TMS sued. It took many years, but finally Texas got their 2nd race. There is a spring race in April and now a fall race in November. My man...Jeff Gordon...has not won at Texas yet. In fact, Texas hasn't been good to him in the past. One year he crashed and broke his ribs and other years he crashed and just broke the car. BUT, the last couple of years he's improved and finished in the top 10. I HOPE HE WINS THIS TIME! How neat it would be to be at a race where he wins. I get butterflies thinking about it.
I know everyone is probably rolling their eyes and yawning reading this thinking how boring it is to watch cars go round and round and round. But if you ever get the chance to go to just one race you should. It's amazing...the sounds, the smells, the people and the whole environment is great. I just love it.
So anyway, I leave in the morning and I'll be back bright and early Monday morning. Rebecca and Joe will have a fun time having much needed father and daughter time, and I'll get my much needed 'ME' time. I will be missing them both 2 hours after I leave and ready to get back to them. But you have to get away sometimes just to appreciate what you have. That's what Dr. Phil says anyway.
I'll post pictures when I get back and tell you everything!

Halloween was a success!

This is what Rebecca was suppose to be...a fairy princess. And even though she is as cute as a button in this outfit (which she got as a birthday present), it just wasn't my idea of a Halloween costume. Plus it was too big. I had to tie the shoulders in knots just so she could play in it.
Rebecca with her friends Makenzie (7) and Josh (2) after Trick-or-Treating! See how excited they were once they saw how much candy they got! As you can see Rebecca was a pumpkin, Makenzie a cheerleader and Josh was Mike from Monsters Inc. His candy catcher got so full of candy that the plastic eye that 'was' part of his costume wouldn't stay in. They all were way too cute!

October 26, 2005

Halloween Costume!

Can you believe I made this costume??? I can't. I had A LOT of help from my friend Rachel! I knew I wanted Rebecca to be a pumpkin and I really couldn't find any patterns of what I had in my head. So, Rachel came up with this one off the top of hers. In fact the whole thing is her idea...a fabulous one at that! I have a little bit more to do like add ribbon under her arms to keep it together or put snaps/velcro there. But for the most part it's done and she looks cute in it. I need to go and get her a black turtle neck shirt and she'll wear black pants and black shoes under it. She's ready to go trick-or-treating! I've been trying to teach her to hold her pumpkin and say it, but all she wants is the candy that will go in it. After a couple of times ringing doors and saying it, she should get the hang of it...hopefully! We're planning on going over to Rachel's house and go trick-or-treating in her neighborhood. She lives in a new developement, so it'll be neat to see all the ghosts and gobblins over there! Her 7 year old daughter is going as a cheerleader and her 2 year old boy is going as one of the monsters from Monsters Inc. They're all going to be so cute together. I'm sure I'll get tons of pictures and post them for you all to see. Enjoy!

Up for Adoption!

Need I say more? UGHHHHH!!!!!! What's up with this terrible 2 syndrome? I have completely lost control of my sweet little girl, and to be honest...I'm not sure how to get it back. When I tell her "You better stop!", she now just smiles and repeats it back to me. When ever we tell her not to do something, she does it even more. The last thing I want to do is not to say anything to her and make her think what she's doing is ok. Up until just the last couple of weeks, I would be able to correct her and she would listen so well. Not now. And what's even worse is she will not share her toys or anybody else's. We went to see a friend of ours the other day, she has an 8 month old, Rebecca was taking toys, books, etc. from the 8 month old and saying "Mine!". I really need some help from anyone who will read this...PLEASE POST A COMMENT! Anything will help! I do realize that the move is probably effecting her, but we've been here a month and she's just started this.

My Birthday Party!

My party hat & balloon Posted by Picasa

Well Rebecca's 2nd birthday was a success! As I mentioned earlier, we had her party at 'Chuck E Cheese'. Her friends: Jonathan & Zachary, Kayleigh, Sarah & Sean and Sophie came to help us celebrate (along with their parents). They all rode rides and played games. It was a lot of fun for them all. She got some really great gifts also. Enjoy the rest of the pictures below!
