We survived the first week

Well, we survived the first week of day care! I must say, it was a challeging week and I even had two days off ... if it all goes as intended, here is our typical morning:
4:20 am Q wakes up
4:30 am Q pumps
5 am Q done pumping and Al wakes up--both get showers and ready for work up to point of getting dressed in case a baby spits up on us
5:45 am get babies up, dressed, faces washed and tummies full of milk
6:55 am Mom and Dad get dressed for work
7:00 am Get babies in their car seats--let the crying commence!
7:10 am Everyone is loaded into Mom's mini-van--Dad jumps in his and is off to work
7:25 am Mom and babies arrive at day care--Mommy calls inside and they
send someone out to help get babies in
7:35 am Mommy back in the van and on the way to work
7:59 am Mommy breezes into work as if she has had 8 hours of sleep!
Now, just imagine this process in reverse and you have an idea of what our evenings look like!!!!! But we made it! And I'm sure it will get easier as we get into our routine!

Wow! It has been a couple of weeks since I have had time to post anything. Things have been crazy busy with my return to work. Even though I am off a couple days each week, it has still been hard. Probably harder for Al than for me since he has been staying home with the little guys!
We enjoyed a visit from Daddy Bob recently. He came out for about a week to enjoy some time with the babies. It was great to have him here and we managed to get some pictures made this time!!
Al starts his new job Monday. We are excited and a little sad at the same time. Monday marks the end of one of us being able to stay home with the babies. They will be starting daycare Monday. It will be a really hard day for me ... I decided to start them on a day when I am off work so I can go by and check up on them during the day and so I won't feel rushed dropping them off. One highlight of Monday ... I am having a massage that day! I figured what better way to deal with the stress! Thanks Aunt Barbara!
The babies had their 4 month check-up this past Thursday. All was well ... weights are as follows:
William 14 lbs 10 1/2 ounces
Jackson 13 lbs 8 ounces
Addison 12 lbs 15 1/2 ounces
William is our BIG boy. He is now in the 80th percentile for his height! That is pretty amazing considering he was 7 weeks premature. He really does look huge compared to the other two!!!
Here are some recent pictures.
Enjoy!

Exactly the opposite ...

Notice Addison's shirt ... "So much time, so little to do." Wow, is that the opposite of our life or what!?!?!?!? I keep making little goals each day for things I need to get done around the house. The goal yesterday was to get all of the Christmas decorations put away (they are all already gathered together on the dining room table). By the end of the day, the goal changed to just getting the boxes out of the closet so I can put the stuff away today. And I didn't even get that done ... but Al did! So, now the goal for today? You got it ... box up all the Christmas decorations. Who knows ... maybe I'll get it done before it is time to bring out the Easter bunny! Quenta

We have been busy!

Well, we have been busy this past week. I returned to work ... only had to work two days, but it was still tough! Hardest part was having to wear shoes! Oh, and putting on a suit was not too much fun either. On a good note, Al got a new job. He will be starting with JCPenney later this month. We are very excited about this as it will be a huge reduction in travel time. That means he will be here more to help with the babies. Whew The following pictures are the remainder of the pics we wanted to post from our November photography session. These were all taken by Marquette from Simple Treasures Photography. Please see our first post on how to contact her if you would like copies of any of these. Enjoy! Quenta and Al

I scared myself ...

A couple of nights ago, I was sitting in the nursery rocking Jackson to sleep when I looked down and saw that Jackson was covered in bruises. I jumped up and ran with him into the family room for better lighting ... imagine my relief when I realized that I had covered him in lipstick!!!!! See, I don't leave the house much anymore and hardly ever wear lipstick so when I kissed him all over his face, I left lipstick behind!!!

Christmas pictures

We finally got around to opening our gifts about 9pm Christmas evening! Don't think that in future years our children will let us wait that late!!!!! Al and I never even got around to wrapping our gifts for each other ... about 7pm, I looked over at him and said that I didn't think we would get around to wrapping and opening, so did we just want to tell each other what we got? And that's what we did! We are now enjoying our visti with Daniel, Joana, Heidi and Mom. They will be here until January 2nd and Dad will be joining us on Saturday. The 4 of them are headed off to see Auburn in the Cotton Bowl on New Year's day. Al and I will not be joining them ... no babysitter and the kids just are not ready for their first football game yet!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! Our children gave us a wonderful gift today ... they all went to bed last night between 8:30pm and 10pm and slept until 6am or later this morning! Dad got to sleep all night and Mom only had to get up once to pump! Wow ... we feel rested!
Hopefully, by the end of the day, we will post a picture of our entire family by the tree. But, we wanted to get a couple of pics up for those of you checking out the site today. As for gifts, Al and I have not even exchanged gifts yet today. The babies didn't ask for anything, so we got them what I wanted them to have :) We have started Christmas collections for them. Addison received her first Swarovski snowflake and both boys will be collecting Christopher Radko Nutcrackers (my mom got one this year and we bought the other one). We will post remainder of the gifts just as soon as we open them all!
Al and I are getting ready to sit down to our own Christmas dinner. We are having ham, home made mac-n-cheese, cornbread stuffing, greenbean casserole, sweet potato casserole and frogs eye salad. And yes, it is just the two of us. The babies are getting fresh breast milk! It doesn't get any better than this!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

How they have grown ...

For those of you who may not have followed the progress of the babies since their birth, hopefully these pictures will give you an idea of how small they were. It is hard to remember them that small ... and they seem like giants to us now. As a reminder, they were born at 33 weeks (that's 7 weeks early for all you guys!). Both boys were 4 pounds and 5 ounces and Addison was 4 pounds 11 ounces. God has blessed us with 3 beautiful, healthy children.
