Merry Christmas to All...

Hey Everyone,

Raise your hand if you can't believe it's December already!?! Mine is raised!
Man, this year is just going too fast.

A few things that have happened since I posted last... Jentri
is 9 months and counting! She's officially crawling and
getting into everything, and like some babies goes straight
for the wall outlets. Luckily there hasn't been any electricution involved, so we're fortunate there. She definitely keeps us on our toes! She's to the point where sitting on Mama's lap is in no way where she wants to be for any length of time. And watch your thumbs and forefingers because she'll grab on and run for the door! She's pulling herself up on chairs, and even pulled one over on her head when I wasn't watching at church on Sunday. Whoopsies!

She also survived her first ear infection, and was on antibiotics for a week or so. She's also got her bottom two teeth, and teething actually isn't as horrible as I thought it would be. She was quite ornery, don't get me wrong, but most of the time it didn't take me long to get her calmed down when she was hurting. What fun!

We're so excited for her first Christmas, we have a plethora of empty boxes wrapped up for her to open, since that's what she'll be content playing with. Well, really I have to keep reminding myself that she's only 9 mos. old and really doesn't need all the fun toys and cute outfits I see and want to buy for her. Jake seems to think she needs a Wii, but we all know who that would really be for. :)

Anyway, as far as life for the rest of us, it's going great. Jake's got a review at his job this next week and will be getting a raise, so can't complain there. I've started waiting tables again a couple of nights a week at Applebee's in Orem, which has been pretty fun. It gets me out of the house if nothing else, and we've got a little extra money for Christmas.

We're still teaching the 6&7 year olds in Primary, and that is SO fun. The kids are so funny, and we've learned a lot from them. A couple of weeks ago we were talking a little about the creation, and I asked them who causes the apples to grow, to which they replied without hesitation, "Johnny Appleseed." How silly of me to not know the answer to that obvious question! :) And last week we asked what Heavenly Father and Jesus said to Joseph Smith when they appeared to him in the Sacred Grove. The kids so matter of factly said, "They said, 'What's yer name?'" I was laughing so hard! Needless to say, they put a smile on my face! We'll miss them when we get a new class in a couple weeks.

Well, that's us. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Let us know how you're doing. I love reading blogs, it's so fun! We've also loved getting Christmas cards from some of you! Keep 'em comin'! We feel so blessed to have you all in our lives, THANK YOU for all you do! We love you! Merry Christmas!

Hunting Buddies

What a pair! I'm giving you a secret sneak peek at Jentri's Halloween costume by posting these pics, but I couldn't resist. We had no trouble finding something for Jake to wear hunting, we just had to go through the old Murray High "Game Clothes" box and he was set.

He survived his first deer hunt this last weekend with his Dad and brothers. Unfortunately, the deer survived too, but the boys said they had a good time anyway. Jen and I had fun at home with her Aunt Aly and Cousins Kaylee and Katelynn. I don't think we would have wanted to be out in the snow! Brrr!

Is it really October? I know I say this just
about every post, but where has this year gone? Jake's almost been at his "new" job for a year now, and Jentri will be 8 months old on the 4th.
So crazy! Life is good & busy! This month has seemed especially busy,
but I think I like it better that way. More gets done when there's more to do.

Well, I think that's it for now. Hope all is well with all of you! Love ya'll!

September Already?

I am so incredibly bad at this! I really can't believe that it's September already, and our little Jentri Ann is SIX MONTHS old! She's doing so many things that every day I just think, "when did she get so old?" or "when did she learn to do that?" I know, six whole months isn't really very old in the scheme of things, but time has really flown by!

I'm amazed at how almost every little thing she does makes me so happy and excited. When Jake comes home from work I'll tell him a huge slew of things she did during the day. Simple things like sucking on her toes while making cooing noises, sitting up for longer than she did the day before, holding her bottle by herself for a few seconds, or sticking out her tongue and "talking." I just eat this stuff up! It's so fun to watch her grow and try new things, as simple as they may be.

She's such a happy little girl, and most of the time it makes me forget all the stupid stuff I stress over. She's so curious, active, and busy, even at such a young age. I feel so lucky to have her! I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but she's so darn CUTE!

She went to her first "Princess Party" for cousin Brynlee this week, and got to dress up as Snow White. Also, Daddy Jake let her eat her first chocolate cupcake. I wasn't there unfortunately, otherwise I would have tried to advise him against it, but apparently she loved it. And we haven't had any adverse effects other than a few crumbs in her diaper and frosting in her hair. :)

Life for Jake and I is still the same old routine. Jake's getting more and more involved at his job, which he loves, so I can't complain there. As for me, I'm just "chillin' like a villain" being a stay at home mom. Which of course keeps me pretty busy. I am exploring the possibility of substitute teaching one day a week, but haven't really gotten around to doing anything with it, so we'll see.

I am still open to suggestions for books to read in our ward book club, if anyone has any. Thanks, Em, for the recommendation for "The Five Love Languages." Sounds like a good one! It's on my list!

Well, that's all for now I guess :) I added some links to family and friends' blogs, but didn't ask permission on any of them. I won't be offended if you don't want it on here, just let me know :) Have a lovely day!

It's been way too long since I've updated this! My bad. Well, the months of June and July have presented plenty of "firsts" for our little Jentri Ann. She was the life of the party at the Sederberg Reunion, and was so excited to meet Grandma and Grandpa Great.

She also met and had fun with her New York cousins Hannah, Megan, and Allison, accompanying them on their first trip to Hogle Zoo. She's started eating rice cereal, responded surprisingly well to the fireworks display at Murray Park, survived Snarr family pictures, went swimming in Grandma Price's pool, just to name a few.

She'll be 5 months next week, pretty crazy! At her 4 month checkup, the doctor called her "tall and thin" with a height of 25 inches, and weight of 13 lbs. 8 oz... Just 4 oz. more than her two month old cousin, Cade! We're pretty sure she gets her height from her mom, but as Uncle Luke said, "Yeah, she is almost as tall as her mom!" Well, take it for what it's worth I guess. :)

Nobody seems to believe me that she's a talker, but it's true! I woke up to her talking this morning in fact. She loves playing and talking with Daddy especially, and laughs up a storm whenever he's around. (She'll still laugh for me, but nowhere near as much) Her little giggle is so cute, and she makes all sorts of cute "talking" noises. She also seems to be partial to the Disney Channel, often fussing while we watch the news or anything else. She'll stop and tune in as soon as we change it back.

As for Jake and I, life is good! We love our house, neighborhood, and ward. We've just been called to teach the 6-7 year olds in primary, which is exciting. Although I think we need to ask more thought provoking questions in class because the kids seem to answer all questions with "Can I hold Jentri?" So, a work in progress I suppose.

I'm also working as the "Literacy Specialist" in our ward, a.k.a. "The Book Club Lady." Any suggestions for some good book club books, let me know.

I'll admit I feel a little out of sorts without the stress of preparing for the upcoming school year, but I'm glad I can stay home with my cute baby girl. I do get cabin fever every once in a while, but overall it's been a great experience. Jake has mentioned he'd like me to go back to teaching so he can get a truck, but I'm pretty sure he's kidding. At least he'd better be. :)

Well, I guess that's all for now. Hope all is well with all of you. We feel so blessed, and are grateful for all of you! Happy Saturday!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun...

"SAY THAT AGAIN...TO MY FACE" What a tough girl we have... Man, I can't believe it's the middle of May already! Jentri is just cuter than ever, and she's getting so big! She weighed 9 lbs. 4 oz. at her two-month check up last week, and I really think she's grown since then. It was really hard to watch (as Jake calls her) "the nurse without a soul" give Jentri her first set of immunization shots. She handled them pretty well, considering her mean nurse :)

Every day we're just so amazed at what a perfect little girl we have. She's so happy! We were able to bless her last week, which was so great. I really don't think I could ask for a better husband and baby girl. I'm one blessed Mama! Jake said Jen just laid back with her hands behind her head during the blessing, I'm sure just taking it all in . The bishop commented that she was the quietest baby blessed in a while. :) Grandma Snarr made her perfect little dress, which as you can see, was so cute.

Jake and I also celebrated our third anniversary this last week, and he surprised me with an overnight trip to Denver to see the broadway musical "Wicked" (which was SOO awesome by the way). It was extremely hard to leave Jentri for that long, I felt a little guilty. It all worked out, but still...

For those who don't know, Bean (aka Jason, my not so little brother) is living with us for the next few weeks because they kicked everyone out of his apartment. Word on the street is they had loud, obnoxious parties and the landlords had had enough. Ok, so they really just were remodelling and making it a married housing establishment. So far he's helped us clean out our Koolaid supply and watch our movies. It's been fun to have someone else here during the day when he's not on campus or at work.

Well, I think that's the scoop for now. Hope all is well with all of you. Happy Tuesday!

April Showers bring May Flowers

Well, Jake says my turn is overdue to add to this, and I guess I agree. Things are going well for all of us, and we're hopefully getting into somewhat of a routine with little Jentri Ann. Let's just say we've got this parenting thing down, so if ya'll are interested we'll be offering courses in Parenting 101:).

Jentri is growing fast and eating lots. People keep saying she's so tiny, but she seems big to me! She was wearing preemie and "just born" clothes until she was a month old, but she is growing I promise! She's starting to smile at us (instead of in her sleep), and her little cooing giggle is just too dang cute. Just seeing her cute smile makes the early mornings and late nights more bearable. I'm told from 8-10 weeks is where babies start sleeping through the night...does from 1am to 8am count? If so, she's done it! We'll see how tonight goes...I'll let ya know...

Life is good! Our house is coming together, and yes I finally broke down and let Jake get his 37" flatscreen HD LCD TV. I think that's the right terminology. To be honest, I was sick of hearing about it! Of course it's like feeding a stray cat, he always wants more! Not that Jake is just some guy I picked up off the street, but you get the idea :) We'll see if he likes watching TV more than eating, because we may not be doing much of that for awhile. :)

Hope all is well with all of you. Thanks for looking at this and checking in on us every once in awhile. Until next time!

Our Adventure

So for those of you who don't know, we have had a pretty eventful couple of weeks...

Three weeks ago today, with the help of several family members and Trevor with his ginormous trailer, Kate and I moved into our new house in Spanish Fork. It was a stressful day but we are lucky to have so many people that were willing to help.

That night, Carlos and Stacey invited us over for dinner so that we wouldn't have to cook for ourselves. It was some good eatin'! They recently had a baby (Natalia), and after Kate held Natalia - she got very anxious for Jentri to come (she was just two weeks away from her due date).

It was after midnight before we first laid down to go to bed in our new house when Kate tells me she thinks her water broke. I was pretty sure she was faking it because she just wanted Jentri to come, so I told her to let me know if she started having contractions - until then I was going to go to sleep. Then every five minutes she would tell me she was having a contraction.... so I got out of bed and took her to the hospital.

We got to the hospital sometime after 2:00 AM and Jentri Ann was born around 6:30 AM. Apparently Kate's pretty good at the whole giving birth thing...the nurses were all surprised at how fast it went, especially with her first kid. What I want to know is what Kate thinks is so funny!?!

Anyways...we are now mostly settled in - Jentri's almost three weeks old (20 days and 9 hours), and most of the boxes are unpacked (thanks to Jentri's wonderful grandmas and aunts). All we need now is our big screen TV!

Cousin Hayden's first reaction to Jentri...."She don't do nothin'!"

Dad's first time giving Jentri a bath. Apparently he is alot better at it than Mom, because she didn't use him as a diaper!

Here are Jentri's feet. She's got long toes like her dad, but her pinky toe tries to hide like her mom's.
