forgotten ages in wait
a chalice veiled in shade
lost in the fatal dusk
a lifeless body
an empty husk
a warped sanity resides
deep within
yearning
patiently waiting
time crept to a still

as visions foretold
in the coming towards the end
man's greed consumes himself
reaching into his carnal sins
twisted the hearts of men
the sun once a pillar of faith
now lay bruised and blind
night stands eternal
in place a cold moon shines
striking a pale reflection
the wolves in man
shall rise to feed
a feast of burden awaits
with the heavenly signs aligned
apocalypse approaches

free from an endless slumber
her eyes cracked open
with a dread scream she tore the silence
resounding into the bleak night
a seed of poison
inhaling all living light
she gains her powers from the dark
gateway to unholy might
hail the dark queen
for there shall be no return

the night her domain
with every step
warmth and sanity recedes
the rivers bleed dry
living turned to dust
the cycle has been broken
oh what a sight to see
devoid of life
forsaken for all eternity
the dead marching as one
death and destruction raged on
her gift from the deepest void

times are changing
the world is rearranging
the wheel has turned
what will the years now bring
a new era begins
for every sacrifice
a new shadow shall arise
for every love lost
the flames of passion dies
falling to a dark sedation
joyous screams of agony
here to join this nocturnal opera
a dance of beauty in step
carrying the scent of death

the gates of heaven shook
as a spire of black diamond pierced the sky
ascending without grace
writhing, reaching out like a disease
testament to the evil in the lands
the sun had seen its final days
now history will change its course
by the waves of violent floods
mankind shall drown in a sea of blood
all destiny lies in her hands
no more shall they dream
the once faithful are no more
the world shall fall

and in the distance the angels sing
with broken wings

please remedy my confusion
and thrust me back into the day
my sight is but an illusion
now that everything is gone
