Prayer Requests

I started my big monster update, a summary of what my sweet baby Brooklyn has been doing since I last posted. It is saved in my drafts, waiting for me to add the pictures. Before I finish it, I just wanted to post a prayer request for our friends the Walkers and also, friends of friends, the Cleeks. Both are dealing with a recent diagnosis of cancer. The Walkers also deal with a loss of a child. The Cleeks are pregnant with their first child as she goes through chemo. Pray hard and pray often! You can read about both on their Caring Bridge pages.

While you are praying, say one for my dad too. He might have to start treatments again as well. He won't like me posting this, but I think the more prayers, the better!

Florida Trip 2009

Ok, so I know it's January 2010 and I am so behind that I am completely overwhelmed but I have got to get busy catching up!

In August, we went to Destin with my parents, uncle Bob, David's mom and his two brothers! We were hoping my brother and his family could go but their house was flooded and they had to spend the time trying to clean up the mess and remodel. We also wanted Michael's girlfriend Terah to come along but a Teacher of the Year simply can't miss the first week of school! We missed all those that couldn't come!

My mom and dad paid for our vacation house that had lots of rooms and a separate Cabana house. We had a private pool and were in walking distance to the beach! It had plenty of space for us to hang out and play the wii, put together puzzles or read books! We ate out a couple of times but we cooked a lot too! We had a great time except for a tropical storm, Lucas getting sick and did I mention lots of wind and rain from a tropical storm! It was still lots of fun and we even went Bowling one day and putt putt another! David, Rob and Michael when deep sea fishing and had a puking good time! They did catch a lot of fish with David catching a huge one! My dad treated David and I to golfing at The Raven one day. I was so excited but then disappointed that the range was closed. Not getting to warm up before playing on a great course is intimidating! It was a lot of fun!

Brooklyn did great and slept well in her Pack-N-Play. She liked the pool and I think she will enjoy next year even more. She turned 4 months old while we were there.
