Lucky Girl
How was your weekend? Mine was unexpectedly boring. On Sunday mom and dad were going to take me to Doggy Days of Summer at Fairchild Tropical Gardens. What happened? Right when we were about to leave the house daddy got a call from work and had to leave. Mom had the wonderful idea of taking me on a longer walk in the neighborhood, since I was very excited about going out and she hates to see me suffer. We had a great time but when we were walking through the most beautifully landscaped areas mom was on the phone with grandma so she could not take a picture of me. Someone needs to set her priorities right. Of course, I got tired and hot and mom had to carry me all the way back. In the end, she was glad we didn't go to the event since it seemed to be a little too hot for a puggy (and there was an entrance fee to pay!).
Daddy said today that the weather is going to be cooler this week. Please, weather, be cooler. Bring winter, but Florida winter, ok?
Oh before I forget, a few days ago mom receive a very cute envelope in the mail. She had won a give away for Shanny's eighth year bloggiversary! She got to choose a color, and Shanny made a pair of earrings for her. She is such a lucky girl!

Lucky Shocking News
Good afternoon loyal readers,
If any of you know my mother in person, you probably won't find this surprising. But for those of you who doesn't know her, beware: shocking information to follow.
This handsome and cool puggy has an over bearing and over protective mother. Shocking, for you would expect me to be shy and nerd. So, just to provide an example, it turns out that the "black thingy" I had yesterday was just a bug bite with a scab. The vet cleaned it with alcohol and it soon stopped bleeding. Thank you friends for worrying about me. Daddy said he also has some bites and that he also needs to visit a doctor right away. Hey, why is he acting like a baby?

What we do most weekends...
Hi puggies and humans,
Mom and I went to the vet three weeks ago, we also went two weeks ago, and we are going tomorrow morning too. I love my vet, can you tell? Daddy said I shouldn't go that often but mom asked him to stick with the care of my other brothers and sisters; she is in charge of the puggy. Oh, you didn't know about my siblings? They live upstairs underwater. I'll tell you more about them later. Anyway, two weeks ago mom found red spots all over my legs. The vet said it looked like ant bites. I got some pills, a spray and mom got a lighter wallet. Once daddy got home, he casually said: I forgot to tell you that Coco had stepped over an ant nest yesterday. Not a major injury there. But today mom found something different. It looks like a tick stuck on my belly but it doesn't have legs. It doesn't move - I suspect it is not an animal. It has red spots around and when mom touched it, it started bleeding. Any hints of what it may be? Mom and I will be at the vet, rain or shine. Just don't tell dad.

The Land of the Crab
Hi friends!
Some of you were worried about our new neighbor. I wouldn't be so scared, after all, I was about to sniff him when we first opened the door but mom pulled my leash and ran away in panic, screaming. She has no manners at all; our new neighbor was standing right in front of our door, he obviously came by to introduce himself.
When dad came downstairs mom asked him, "What is that thing doing here?!"
"What are YOU doing here", daddy answered. "This was the land of the Blue Crab before the developers came. They numbered by the thousands."
Mom felt sadness because she never thought crabs would be homeless because of us. Who knows what other species should be here? We've seen frogs and insects, and one crab. For those of you who doesn't know, we live in South Florida, less than a mile away from the mangroves in Biscayne Bay, a few miles north of Key Largo.

Meet The Neighbor

Last Sunday
I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was kind of boring... my family made plans non-pug friendly. Unbelievable. I did have a great Sunday last week though. I was invited a very special event: my best buddy Jaxson's birthday party! He organized it at the Colony Hotel in Delray Beach, which is kind of far away but that's what parents are for, right? To take you places, feed you, buy you toys, etc. So, I hurried mom to feel better from her cold that day. Daddy had a class and I hurried him to come home early, too. Unfortunately, when he got home he was too tired and mom didn't feel well enough to drive. Friends, I have to tell you, the puppy sad face works. It was a little late already when mom was ready to take me, and just as she opened the front door to leave... our new troublesome neighbor wouldn't let us walk out the door. Man, I was so angry! Dad had to wake up and get ready because there was no way this puggy was missing the party. So, after dad finally walked out the door and had a few words with the crabby new neighbor, mom and I were able to jump on the car. I am always relieved when daddy drives, specially that day because it rained so much. It took us almost double the time to get there with the superb storm. I am so lucky to have such good friends, they had waited at the party for us to arrive!
Daddy loved the hotel. It is 83 years old and it still has the original elevator working. I wish mom was more intelligent, but she isn't so there are no pictures of the girls at the party. They were wearing beautiful pink dresses! You can tell mom forgot to use the flash on the first pictures also. Seriously, she needs vitamin supplements already!
Daddy had a great time chatting with Jax and his parents.
That was, until mom started shouting "I know them, I know them!". Winston and Clemmie were on America's Funniest Videos again!
After a few dances,
a piece of cake, a couple of drinks,
and a visit to the bathroom
we were ready to leave.
We didn't go home though, we went for a stroll on Delray Beach's trendiest street! Jax and I had a great time together!

Sorry, I was hungry.
I wanted to thank you all for the happy birthday and bloggiversary wishes, specially to my favorite pug girl in the whole world, my Pearly poo! She gave me the best birthday present ever, writing a very sweet post about me. I am not single, girls. My heart belongs to Pearl.
Now that we are back on our regular blogging schedule... what? Why were we not blogging as usual?
It was because one's supposed to get a week of vacation after one year of work, right? And by coincidence that was also mom's last week of class. She had to read and write a lot. So far, she has 3500 words for a novel she had started for her class. She never thought about starting a novel... let's see if she continues or not. She is famous for starting new things and not finishing them because she later finds new things to start. So far, blogging has been her more consistent activity. ONE YEAR! Wow, she deserves an award for that. But since this is MY blog, I am the one who gets the awards here.
One of my best buddies gave me this award a while ago. It looked so delicious, I ate it all. Thank you, Bajas! The cookies were so good, I was not able to share with anybody else!

Luckily, Harry gave me this award again! Harry wanted to know why I was named Coco.
This is what Coco means in spanish. Daddy chose "Coconut" because it was a good fit for me. We still don't understand why. Now here are the rules to this award:"When accepting this award, you must blog about the food you have stolen when your humans were not watching. If you have never stolen any food, you must have been a really good pup! You can accept this yummy tray of cookies as your reward! Next add the logo of this award to your blog (optional), then nominate at least 5 other furry blogs and let them know by leaving a message on their blogs."
I have stolen quite a few things, but the one mom remembers the most was a whole peruvian chili pepper I took from the fridge once. I run away and ate it all. Mom was scared because it is very spicy, specially the veins and seeds. What she forgot, is that I am also part peruvian, so I can eat spicy food with no problems!I also want to share a special accomplishment in my puggy adult life: My first Diploma.

I was a student Roxy's first class and I have learned so much I may misteriously gain a few pounds in the upcoming weeks, since daddy likes to eat everywhere but the dining table. Thank you Roxy!
Now before my friends forget what I look like, here is a picture of me doing what I like the most:

The Most Special Day of the Year
Hello Friends!
Today is the most important day of the year for my mother and father. Yes, you've guessed. Today is the day I was born! I am a mature and independent four year old pug; I own a car and I own my mother's time when she is home. What else could I ask for?
Tonight we are going to Dog Bar to celebrate. I wish all of you could come! I love all my bloggy friends and I promise I will visit your blogs - specially of my new friends, Hello! - in a week, when mom finishes her class.
Have a nice day, doggies and humans!
P.S. Today is also my bloggiversary! My blog was my birthday gift of last year - not a brilliant idea because I only get to celebrate once!
P.S.S. I would love to know all of my readers! If you haven't said hi before, please do so now! It will be the best birthday gift, to get to know new wonderful friends!

Love At First Sniff
There were black pugs,
"Coco, there's nothing wrong with having a formal girlfriend and settling down," my mother said, "Don't you find Petunia adorable?"
"Are you afraid her heart belongs to another puggy?," mom inquired, "you'll never know unless you ask her."
