Waiting for Santa

Well Whitney got up bright and early today to bake Christmas Cookies....

All cozy in my Bathrobe making Sugar cookies for our Christmas Celebration over at her Grandmothers house with her cousins...so she thought Cookies would be a nice thing to bring for them to share.

It was a nice morning to bake cookies since we are having some bad weather again. Sleet and freezing rain....good way to stay busy enough at home rather than to go journey outside. so not only do we have over 2 feet of snow..now we have a lovely ice crust on top of it from the freezing rain. when I let the Pug out to go Pee they can actually walk on top of all the snow with out falling in......

I have been sick all week with the flu and have not been to the barn in over a week. We finally made it over yesterday since I was feeling somewhat better.......

I had to share this picture that was taken a few weeks ago of Whitney and Minnie at the barn...Minnie is a 18 month old Draft horse who just came to the barn to live.... she is such a sweetheart and gets lots of Love and attention.

I Love this Picture of them!

Yesterday I taught Whitney who to Lunge Bull on a Lunge line. I still cant ride him due to my head injury. Where my staples were is still sore and I cant wear my riding helmet with out it hurting my head. So since I can't ride him I have been Lunging him on a Lunge line to help him get exercise...he has already put on some unwanted winter weight... so this is good for him to get his exercise by walking, trotting and get a good canter going.I showed Whitney just once how to Lunge and she picked it up right off and did it like a Pro! in this picture he has Bull-Run cantering in a circle on a Lunge line...HIGH FIVE WHITNEY!

after she lunged Bull she rode Freckles around for a bit.....

And we Got Little Miss Tori Driving a Pony! she is not a fan of riding. She gets a little nervous up on a horses back...so we introduced driving to her and she LOVES it! so Here is Tori Driving a Pony named Emma Blue...........

Oh..and to any of you southerners....I have Free Snow! anyone is welcome to it!

Please! come and take it away!

OUCH!

Coal is doing great...he is teaching us new things about him daily.... He has a side to him that is different than the Fawn Pugs...those of you who have a Black and fawn Pug is there a difference between the 2? I cant quite figure it out...but there seems to be a difference between the 2?
He is just a ball of fun and is such a joy to have. we are so happy to be his new forever family~
OUCH!!!!! My arm hurts.... any idea why tetanus shots make your arm ache so bad the day after?
so yesterday I had to get a tetanus shot.....not sure when my last one was but The Dr. really thought I needed it... Let me fill you in on my day after Thanksgiving...My Black Friday was Pretty Black! ( snicker )

Ok...the morning after Thanksgiving I woke up early and Whitney and I drove to the Barn to do a Morning Run feeding and turned out a handful of the horses that were in the barn all night... We have had a few very cold night and we have ice and frozen grounds here... as I was leading one of the horses out I had Whitney unhook one of the electric fences and to make sure the other horse wouldn't get loose... Whitney unhooked the fence and dropped the hard plastic handle and it hit the frozen ground and it made a loud noise and it spooked the horse I was leading out. I kept her under control with the lead shank I had ( this is attached tot he halter that has a Chain that wraps around the top of their nose to keep them contained) once I got her calm the other Horse got excited and got the horse I had in a panic and she went up on her back feet...all I saw was a BIG GIRTH and HOOFS! I turned my head with no time to run....and SLAM! JeanPool ( the Horse ) crashed down on my head with her hoof and winter-steal shoe....I felt my-head and knew I was in need of medical help but the Horse I was leading out is a World Champion Horse and she is worth lots of $$$ She was running on a icy area and the lead shank was still attached to her and getting all tangled around her legs...I was so frightened she was going to hurt herself so I was more worried for her than I was myself... as I am clucking for the horse to return to me I feel blood pouring out of my head and where I was bleeding my hair was frozen from it being so cold. Whitney is crying during this whole time apologizing for dropping th fence handle and thinking she caused this whole accident.....I reassured her I was ok and it was not her fault. Brad was just down the road and Whitney called him to come to the barn. Bradley and Whitney drove me tot he ER where Whitney was crying so hard when I went to the window to check in explaining my injury they took it as Whitney being the one injured and took us right in. The nurse went to to check Whitney and I said...it's not her it is me..( Ummmm couldn;t she see my bloody jacket and hood? and the cloth I was applying to my head?) They sent me right to Xray to make sure I had no skull or neck injury...they came back fine. They cleaned my head and shaved my hair in that area and scrubbed it with a wire bristle brush! ( the Dr was UGH...mot very pleasant..she said he needed to make sure there was no Fecal Matter in my wound! ewwweee! then he injected some lidacane and game me a zipper...( staples ) I was so high on Adrenalin and never was in any severe pain until my ride home...I cried like a baby. and slept all day....They put me on antiobiotics and pain meds...I think the pain med knocked me out all I did was sleep the first few days. Bradley took pictures of it but I don;t think you all want to see it...kinda gross..... So that was my BlackFriday!
so yesterday ..(11 days later) I got my zipper taken out! and I feel back to normal now...just a little sore still and a big scar on my head and really short hair in that area. so I have been wearing baseball hats off and on... so this is the reason why I had to have a tetanus shot yesterday....Now my arm is killing me....it feels so hot in the area where it was injected and it aches like mad!

Barn Fun with the Pugs

Fun at the Barn.....We packed up all four Pugs and went to the barn last night to attempt a family picture and to introduce Bull to the Pugs.....after they got to know one another and we even managed to fit in a family Picture with all the fur-kids..( 4 Pugs and a Horse is not an easy task...) I put Bull back in his paddock for the night and let the Pugs run wild though the barn. Coal had hip surgery in October and is starting to put more weight on his leg...so this is a great place for Coal to get some exercise to strengthen up his weak leg! Old Man Turbo had some fun running around too. He was a little lame but still had a good time. He tried hard to keep up but lagged behind.... ( he is feeling so much better! still not 100% but close!) Willow and Belle just gallivanted and checked out all the stalls.

I learned Coal likes the snack Bull dropped for him on the barn floor...( SO Gross!) there is COAL behind Bull eating Bull's Horse Poop! COAL must of thought he hit the Buffet!

Here is a short video of the Pugs running in the barn...... when Coal starts barking at the end....this is when he just realized a horse was in the stall....

I bought photoshop and I played around with our picture for our Christmas card.. if you didn't get one last year and would like to be put on my Christmas card list drop me a email with your address

Coal for Chrismas

Well.... to answer the last post.... our whole family got COAL for Christmas.... Meet COAL! Our new adopted Pug from www.gmpr.org ! He is a owner surrender who loved him much but she was elderly and could not afford his vetting and a surgery he need for his hip. Which he had done in October. He is still healing and we are making him exercise and help him strengthen his leg. He loves having it massaged while he falls asleep on your lap.
He is just under 2 years old. He is around 21 months old and is such a Love Pug. He came from the Cape Cod Ma. area and had a wonderful Foster Mom who took him in from the Pugs By the Sea rescue. Coal actually came with the name Slider but he didn't look like a Slider to us and we thought he would make a Great Coal...since he is all Black and it is the Christmas season. It is a little over an hour and a half ride and he slept most of the ride home. Once we got home He took over the house as if he lived her his entire life and gets along so well with Willow,Belle and OM Turbo He is a funny lil man. he will sit with you and will sneak in a kiss here and there. Can you believe we now sleep with 4 Pugs in our queen sized bed! you we do and to be honest it is no different than sleeping with the 3 Pugs in it...Coal loves the fenced in Pug yard..they chase one another around and released a lot of the energy of having a new Pug in the house.... They have loads of Pug fun in their yard. Me with my 2 Rescues! COAL and OM Turbo! Coal is all cozy in his new red sheep pj's
He slept all night and has not had one accident.
Coal joined OM Turbo to his Vet appointment today for a follow up appointment. Coal was a star at our Vet. We are well known there and they knew in time we would be walking in with a new family member...this time we surprised them with a Black one. I made a appointment for COAL to get microchipped next week.. They can't wait for him to come back. He stole a lot of the ladies hearts there.... I think he is a Ladies man...

Thank you www.gmpr.org for choosing us to be Coal's forever home!

I saw this shirt while I was online Christmas Shopping for the girls..I couldn't pass it up so I ordered it! Adorable! I wish it came in different colors to choose from this is the only one they had available. I was Christmas shopping for the girls but I was the one who got something.

well remember back on My Birthday post Bradley made me a Coupon for a new COACH bag? well I did a little shopping....I bought a New COACH Purse...and their new Perfume! I LOVE the way it smells.........I also ordered this ring.... they are back ordered now but should be shipped on the 28th...such a Bummer. but Now I have a package in the mail to look forward too soon..I needed to pick up a stalking for Bull-Run. I found this Horse Stalking at a Horse Supply store I go to and thought it was Perfect for Bull. It is shaped just like a Horses Hoof where the star is.......

( above) And look! it even has a Hock! ( a horses ankle )

I stuffed it with Mini Candy canes....Bull Loves Peppermints! I actually shared a few with him today...he has fresh smelling breath now!

Turbo update:

Turbo is doing well! Very well. He is on the mend and is getting better and better each day. I have been working a lot more and worry about him while I am out of the house but I know he is sleeping most of the time when I am gone. Now that he is better I have an easier time leaving the house knowing he is getting better. He is on a handful of Meds each day but has no problem taking them. ( a little peanut Butter does the trick! ) we go back to the vet for another ultrasound on his heart next week.....fingers crossed! but his cough is so much better then it was! So I am hoping with him not coughing so much his heart is not any bigger.

Well My Southern Friends....it is Cold here...very Cold! it was 1* last night! I Bought Bull a New winter Coat so Whitney and I went to put it on him to make sure he is warm. we also have had some snow....Brrrrrr Old Man winter is here!

Found some free time to post...an update on O.M.Turbo

Wow is it hard to Blog now with my Jobs, Horse care, Pugs and my family.... I have many times wanted to post something about the day or something new I bought, places we went to eat but, I was too tired to even get to my Laptop and in bed by 8pm. SO much has gone on. We are starting working on plans for Bull's barn and getting all the necessities for him to come live here. Everyone here is healthy, Just a few colds and Brad and Whitney had a touch of the stomach Flu. Tori and I have been ( knock on wood ) healthy. Willow,Belle have been Great. Turbo is having a bout of health issues. as you know he has a tough time a few weeks ago...he got a bit better for a while but the last 2 weeks have been rough...today I brought O.M.Turbo in to the vet for a follow up and he had Xrays.... his Xrays show he has Pneumonia and a Enlarged heart. He is on another round of Antibiotics and other meds to help him The good news is he lost one Lb. since his last appointment from his weight gain form his Hypothyroidism! Woot Woot!.... he is now on 5 pills each morning and 3 at night.... that is not including his eye ointment 4-6 times a day The vet told us to take him into the bathroom when someone is in the shower to breathe in the steam to help him breathe...and to have him sleep near a humidifier....Poor Old man sure is having a tough time but not a minute goes by he is not wagging his tail still . He is the Happiest Old Man and is telling us he is not giving up. Either are we. we go back in 2 weeks to follow up on him again...Fingers crossed!

So for now all I want to do is smother Turbo with Lots of Love....we have such a Bond. He is my special Man. we make sure we get plenty of cuddle time together.

Bagpipes.......

we had a nice weekend. I worked Saturday and Just for a few Hours on Sunday Morning then Bradley and I invited one of his friends from Vermont to come over for a visit with his 13 year old Son Ty... They are wonderful people and he means the world to Bradley, They live about an hour from us and we visited all day and the we went out for dinner and had a great time.....They are very good Bagpipe players and are attending a Bag Pipe academy and play in Parades, Funerals and weddings...Both Dave and his son have been playing for 5 years. Before they left they played for us.......... the sound of the bag pipes filled the neighborhood and gave me goosebumps! I wanted Bagpipes to play at our wedding but we didn't Know Dave at the time...I told Brad if we ever renew our vows he is playing at our 2nd wedding!

I would love to learn how to play the Bagpipes...then again I believe it is in my Blood seeing how I am part Scottish.....could you see me in a Kilt? haha

click on the video to hear Ty and Dave play.........

Here is his 13 year old son Ty playing...... he is such a cutie.

anyway.....I just got home from voting....thank goodness all this Chaos will come to a close tonight! sick and tired of people coming to my door with info on who to vote for! GAH here is the kicker...a car pulled in my driveway yesterday that I didn't recognize so I thought it would be a good time to take a shower.....I hear the Pugs barking like crazy and I ignore the knocking on the door thinking it was people wanting to waste my time telling me who I should vote for.....I take my shower......when I get out I have a text on my cell phone saying...

"Hey it is Cammy! I was just at your house and you didn;t answer your door? I wanted say Hello before I head back to the airport!"

Ya! I was so bummed to learn it was not people giving lectures on who to vote for...it was my good friend in a rental car who just came up to visit from Florida and was heading back to the airport and stopped in before she left........ it was too late for her to turn around and come back...snif snif.

Turbo Update

UPDATE:

Short post....I am so busy today sorry.............

Turbo is home and doing well...he still has alot of his teeth! Woot Woot! he did super and did well with his Anaesthesia...he has a masive mouth infection but got to save alot of his teeth. he is on injectable penicillin to help clear it up. He has something funny going on with his ears and they sent out a culture to test to see what it is and how to treat it. they cleaned out his ears and he seems alot more comfortable. He is coughing alot today more than usual. I think it has to do with being intabated..... I am so happy he is now home........I was really worried for him. He is resting nicely on his down blanket.

so busy today...sighhhhhhhhhhh I will post again really soon.

prayers for Turbo

Old Man Turbo is having a few aging issues.....he has a massive mouth infection and needs to have surgery tomorrow Morning to extract most of his teeth possibly all of them. his breath is Horrid! it has been pretty fowl for a long time but now it is like something curled up and died in his mouth. His ears have been a mess too so since he is going to be under anesthesia they are going to flush them to help clean them out from being infected. they are also are going to take a culture to see what type of bacteria is in there since all the antibiotics we have tried are not clearing it up. During his Pre-op blood test they confirmed he has Hypothyroidism and gained 5 lbs in 8 weeks. he is the biggest he has been. he now weighs 38 lbs due to his thyroid. we thought he was just gaining his winter weight and put him on a diet and he failed that too. We had a feeling something was going on with him and it was not how we were feeding him. Now we know and he is on thyroid medication. He is slowing down quite a bit and is starting to get a little senile....we hope he is comfortable and will give us more time to love him. He is nearing 12 years old soon and we are going to do all we can to make him comfortable and happy....I am very nervous to have him go in for surgery tomorrow with him being so old....( nail biting!) I am sure he will do just fine and will be able to come back home and snuggle in bed with me tomorrow night.....

we all have been so busy I apologize for the lack of my posts. I am not used to working 7 days a week.....

on an ending note....we have a new house pet...a cold mouse from the outdoors decided it was too cold to live in the wild and liked living all over our house the past few days. we finally cought him and.....he now lives in a fish tank full of mouse food water and bedding....he is the luckiest field mouse around...we tried to let him free back in the wild but he keeps showing back up...so here is where he wants to live....Whitney named him Skippy...

Were are still here!

We are still around but extremely busy~ I have made a few changes that keep me away from home all week, I took on a Job at the stable, The owner there knew I was there alot and asked me if I would be intrested in working for them. How could I say no to that offer?! I started the next day!!!!! so now I work at the stable full time helping the trainer tack the horses, help get the students ready, groom the horses and gotta love cleaning the stalls and paddocks...but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Besides I get to see Bull everyday! and as a Bonus I get free boarding for Bull! YES! I only work one day a week for my In-laws now, I just go in one day a week to do the books and payroll, and I still work at the Funeral Home Per-Diam. so this is the reason for the lack of posts......

On Saturday Whitney was in her very first horse show and did great! she got

two 1st Place

two 2nd Place

one 3rd Place

one 4th Place

out of 15 contestants! she was so proud of herself as were Bradley and I.....
It was a cold and chilly day.....brrrr
Whit-bit getting her horse ready to show......

Whitney and Zee....and a student is riding Bull....he did well too!

well...tonight it is to get down to 28* with a frost......so I went and got Bull in his warm coat for the cold night.... I found a coat for him I really liked but I didn't think he would of like being a Gelding in a Purple coat with Pink and Blue Polka dots......so he got the Black one.
I talked with the Pugs about bringing Bull home....they said they would make room in the bed for him too......could you imagine? this is what Bull's home and bed will look like..... this is the barn we are ordering for him.

I think the Pugs will like hanging out in there too....lots of fluff hay to catch a nap on.

I promise I will get back to blogging about the Pugs soon..... they are doing great! They just hate the cold frosty mornings we are having.......

wishes do come true....

UPDATE!!!!! as of today September 28th....BULL IS Now MINE!

I'd like to introduce our newest family member........

As of the end of this week.....I will be the proud owner of Bull! Yes we are buying him!!!!!!! yeah! He has been my training horse and just went up for sale. Bull and I have created a great Bond and we make a great team. I can't stand the thought of him being sold and leaving me...so I talked it over with my husband and gave it a lot of thought and we decided it is the right time to do so. We are boarding him at the stable until our property is ready for him to live here with us. Most likely not until spring/summer. we have lots to do and have to build him a barn and have it all fenced in...so that nice big hill and field behind my house is Bulls future home.......so until then we will board him at the stable until we are completely ready to bring him here and maybe by then we can find Whitney a horse so he can have a pasture friend....
I go and ride Bull 4-5 times a week.... more if I can squeeze it in. Whitney still is riding Zee and is almost ready to show....we are going to a big Horse show next Month in Massachusetts. and is very active in her Equestrian 4H
Check out my new Helmet I bought....Hot PINK!

Bull and Secret....this is his pasture Buddy at the stable.
So now I have to give up my COACH addiction, getting my nails done each week. I need to save as much Money as possible now. so now I have stubby fingernails and I am finding it so much easier to type not having nails....I should of stopped having them filled a long time ago!

Sorry that these pictures are small...I took them with m Cell phone I wanted to share Whitney's sweatshirt I bought her a few weeks ago......

This saying is sooooooo true!

it says.....Here is one little girl who rather clean a stall than her own room.....
see what I mean? here she is pushing a wheelbarrow full of horse Poop!after we rode I decided it is time for Bull to have a bath.....I bought him AXE Body wash...now he really smells like a Man! forget about all that fancy Horse shampoo...I got him the nice smelling stuff!

When I was bathing him I noticed he has the CUTEST BELLYBUTTON! I tried to take a picture of it but.. it didn't work too well seeing how I had to squat under him to get a god shot...as I tried he Pooped! so no Belly Button picture!
