catching up

Well......first I want to let everyone know that I called the Eye Specialist for Turbo and they told me to bring him in on Monday for Noon. Phew! He bumped his eye on something and now has a big gash just above his eye. ( he is LUCKY he didn't cut his eye....that would of been really bad if he did. so hopefully Monday Dr. Koch will have some positive news in saving Turbo's eye. From what I have been told by the GMPR that he is the one to go to for the best care for Turbo's eye. He is a great Dr. we have to leave early seeing how it is over 2 hours away from where we live. Brad is taking the day off to come with me and Turbo. so I will let you all know what we learn on Monday.

Last Tuesday I met who used to be just a blog friend who I now consider a Great personal friend. Wendy from Wes'n'Lani at Olive Garden for dinner and then went to Tar*get for a little shopping. We had a nice time and caught up on the past few months since we have seen each other. Her daughter Lani came alone too and was so good. She sneezed her way through dinner as she was looking stylish wearing her sunglasses the whole night. She is such a Doll. She calls me Auntie Lisa....( so cute) I took pictures with my cell phone but I can't seem to get them to my computer. Along with a picture of my car that I took before we met......My car up on a lift in a garage! while I was on the interstate all of a sudden I heard a loud noise under my car as if I was dragging cinder-blocks. I just figured it was the pavement since there was a lot of construction going on. as I got into town I could hear the nose and pulled into that mall. ( I wanted to get a few things in there anyway) when I parked the car I looked under it and my skid-plate was hanging on the ground all torn up ( I guess going 70 MPH on the interstate for 45 miles hanging on the ground it was bound to get torn up.)

I call Brad....

Me~ Hi hon, I have a problem. something fell of under my engine and it is dragging

Brad~ huh? Oh...I guess this is a bad time to tell you. The other day at the lake when I pulled up to our camp I bottomed out the bottom of your car in the driveway...sorry!...just crawl under the car and tuck it up on something..

Me~ Ahh Thanks...Thats something I would of done! ahh and no there is no shoving it under something, It is a huge!

Brad~ Mumbled worlds...I wasn't listening to him....so mad at this point!

Me~......ya right it is a hard long piece of plastic and it is like 5 feet long. and besides there is a man walking his dog looking at me funny with him pulling down his shades to get a better look!. so no

Brad~ Just tuck it up on something.

Me~ Ya right, This is a husbands job! I am not going to lay on the ground under my car and shove the huge plastic thingy under something with some old guy walking his dog watching me. No! .... (Yelling!!!)
okay okay Okay I am trying...( totally lie! I didn't want to look like a fool so I told Brad that I tried.)

Brad~ did it work?

Me~ No. What the H$ll.....I am not doing this Brad. So I am going into the mall to get a few things before I meet Wendy. My car will just sit here! maybe the man with the staring problem will fix it while I am in the mall.......

Brad~ well go to a garage when Wendy meets you. I don't want you going alone.

Me~ Ya I guess.....
Bye...I hung up!

The whole time I was shopping I was thinking how the heck I was going to get my car anywhere. Shopping was not even fun....

when I got done I went back to the parking lot and saw my car and cringed knowing I had to drive it like that. I guess the man with the staring problem didn't want to help.I pulled out I turned a lot of heads So embarrassing!.....it was so loud! just as I turned the corner at mall parking lot I see SEARS auto garage! Whoa hoo! I pulled up and asked if they could help me and they did.....I felt like a total idiot! but they got it done with in 15 minutes...They didn't charge me but I gave the sweet guy $10.00 for taking time out his job to help me. Just in time to meet Wendy across the street at Olive Garden!

We have a new family member....
Tori has a friend who wanted to give Tori a kitty from a family members cat who had a litter of kittens....... I didn't want another cat in the house but...Brad the soft hearted one gave Tori the Okay.... ..Tori named her Sophie May.........

Willow and Belle love her! they are so gentle with her. Turbo has no clue that there is even a kitty in the house.

She is adapting well.....She has a vet app. next week for a check up. ( yep another vet bill!)

Full House at camp!

Did everyone have a nice Long Holiday weekend? We did, We spent our weekend at the lake along with 5 kids, My 2 niece's and a friend of Tori's joined us) and 4 dogs ( we watched my Parents dog while they went away for the weekend) needless to day our camper was pretty crowded! Tori and her friend and cousin slept in her tent out behind the camper which made it nice for the younger ones to have the bunk house for themselves........

Saturday before the friends and cousins came Brad and Whitney did a little fishing during the fishing derby early in the morning........

(I Love this picture!) My 2 girls......

Belle and I walked down to see how the fishing was going...( I am trying to walk Belle a little more to help her loose her winter weight) She loved the one on one........

Whitney was not having much luck fishing.....shortly after this picture she said to Brad that fishing was not exciting........

(I also Love this picture of Whitney fishing)

so they packed up the fishing gear and walked to the store for something a little more exciting.....when all else fails you go shopping.... all she bought was a juice and a piece of candy. Exciting huh?The Pugs and their cousin Kramer soaked up the sun in the screen room.......

and took a snooze...........

Played and chewed on a few bones.........( Kramer found the dish sponge to chew...Mom is you see something PURPLE on his poo....that is what it is.......sorry I forgot to tell you...)
At night we enjoyed Roasting HotDogs and Smores........

Whitney's camp friends joined in on the fun.......You may remember from last years posts on how much Turbo loves to sit by the fire......This is his favorite part of camping.........all Belle does is bark at the fire so she sits in the screen room and eats her bone..... Me and My Special Man....

Look Sandy! see something here? We are Loving our Floridan door mat you sent us!

Look sandy! Do you see something here too? Whitney used the Black and White bag you sent us for her clothes...........
Once I start going down to the beach that will be my beach bag!

Turbo is a lazy Ole Man....... he loves to sleep in....I usually have Kramer ( My dad's Dog ) Willow and Belle fed and walked before he decides to get up for the day.

Kramer loved the kids bedroom... or maybe he has a thing for Dora?

I had to run home to get a few things....I am glad I did. My Mail Box had something for the pugs!

I ordered the Pugs new Pupia Harness. Belle is styling in the Pink Plaid...Willow in her Pink and white stripes..........Turbo's camo is in great condition since He didn't wear it all winter from Winter weight gain...now that he lost some weight he is back in it again......I also ordered Kramer a lime green one....

Back home.....Whitney checking in on her WebKinz account.......

and Kramer was missing his Mom and Dad here in this picture... ....They flew back home today and now Kramer is back in the hands of his owner......

Also......Thank you to all for helping me in making a tough decision for Turbo....I will be talking to the K9 Opthamologist tomorrow.... This has had my mind racing all weekend. He seemed well, Happy and not in pain all weekend. But his eye is worse and sore looking. I will keep you all posted.........

Turbo really enjoys the lake. He sniff the air, barks at passerbys, licks up the bacon crumbs on the floor during our breakfasts....... going for long walks and looks foward to me carrying him back to the camper. he did this twice last weekend. He will walk then all of a sudden he stops dead in his tracks. Puts all four breaks on and wont budge. So I had to pick him up and carry him back both times he pulled this new act of his. That was fun trying to navigate Willow and Belle on their leash and carrying 32 pounds of Pug all the way back.... so guess what I have in my trunk of my car for our walks at the Lake? Yep...The Pug Stroller!

Turbo loves the evening fires and munching on Graham Crackers from our Smores we make.

Sunday we have plans to come back to our town o go to Bradley's Mothers house for Dinner. His Brother and his wife ( also named Lisa and same last name...makes it fun on Christmas so confusing who's gifts are who's) They live in Virgina and are coming up for the long weekend with their 2 dogs. Then once we visit with them we will head back to the lake until Monday night.

Well....as some of you know Turbo has some issues with his eye. When I adopted him from the Pug rescue he had only one eye knocked out by being kicked and his other eye sustained damage and is out of socket due to the skull fracture and is unable to be put back in. The last month I have noticed he is showing discomfort and it is swollen and more bulgy. Now it is so bulgy his wrinkle fold is actually laying against his eye rubbing his eye at all times so today I brought him to the vet to see what we can do....Back last summer he had a bad bought with his eye and they told me that in time he will most likely need to have it removed. Then back a few months ago we went for his yearly check up and a second vet mentioned his bad eye....so tonight we saw a 3rd Dr. ( I was just curious and wanted a 3rd opinion) He took a LOT of time with Turbo and really looked at his eye good,He asked me a lot of questions. I told him Turbo is at his worst in the Morning. He drags his face ( the side of his eye) against the sofa and wall. His eye is so dried up in the morning from not being able to close it all the way from it being so swollen. He wakes up with a think Black gunk ( no not an eye boogie it is thick and black.) The Dr. told me it is actually a layer of skin that is shaved off from him blinking...... He did a few tests on his eye and Turbo is 95% blind and will most likely be completely blind with in a year. He has severe glaucoma and a lot of damaged blood vessels that is causing the swelling and buldging eye. He 3rd suggested a removal. at this point I am holding in my tears. I knew going in this was going to be said. He mentioned it can be rather painfull on Turbo.....Here I am looking at him thinking how selfish I am by being in denial and thinking he is fine. I am so worried. I know it needs to be done but the thought of him being 11 years old and under anesthesia, recovering, that may really take a toll on him. I know I can't live with the "What If's" but this really scares me. They talked a lot about the procedure, the recovery and they have done sooo many of them. I have a lot of thinking to do....I have been on a few Blind Dog sights that have had their eyes removed and they all seems to have great outcomes. It is just sad to think Turbo may loose his only eye he has left.....It kills me to even think about it as I have glossed over eyes writing this) so I have talked to Bradley about it and he feels the same way as I do...I am not ready to have it done...but what if Turbo is? how do we know? so the Vet gave me a number to a K9 Opthamologist in Vermont. I will be calling them Tuesday to set up a appointment for them to examine Turbo. ( Not that i don't trust the 3 opinions I recieved from our Vet...I just think this one last step to a Specialist in Animal eyes will help me make the right decision. This is huge. To me it is Huge and I can't make this decision on my own. I just feel horrible taking his eye if he is not ready then again maybe he is ready and hoping I make the decision quickly.....oh being a Pug Owner is sometimes really tough on the heart~

Have a Fun Filled and Save Memorial Day!

Oh BTW...we have Kramer until Monday as my Parents are in Pittsburgh Pa. Visiting my Mom's family and Hometown.... Oh man...Punchy? how is having 4 Dogs in a camper??? we will soon find out!

Shedding~

I swear...My Pugs should be bald! They shed so much it is amazing that they still have fur. I vac my house 3-4 times a day along with my sofa. When I washed my bed sheets( all 3 sleep with us in bed) yesterday the lint trap was chuck full of Pug fur, SO much I could have my sister knit them a winter sweater! Fur is EVERYWHERE! I even found it in my kitchen Oven! What? I don;t even want to think of how much fur we have inhaled !
So today the sun peeked out for a short time and they all went out on the back deck and I thought...........
What a perfect place to brush them! so I get out the most amazing Dog Brush EVER.... ( I Love the King rubber brush!)

Look! This is just from Belle!
This is Turbo's........

and Willow's..........

This is Tori's.........
This is Whitney's! at least when I see a Pink strand of hair around I know who it came from.... The girls are having fun experiencing with fun colors in their hair. This is a semipermanent color that I put in for them......

Turbo and Whitney sitting on the front Steps waiting for their Daddy to come home from work....

Opening week

Well we survived the Black flies this weekend at the lake. we are all bitten up and spotty but all in all it was a great Opening weekend! The weather was iffy with a chance of rain. It just rained lightly for a short time and we had nice sunshine most of the time.... We had a lot to do to get the camp back into shape after sitting for 7 long months in the snow....we didn't have much to clean up in the camper. I cleaned it spotless when we closed it up for the winter. I left a Oven mitt under the sink that a mouse made a bed out out....he tore it up and shredded it and made a nest out of it. That was really it for any kind of a mess in the camper. The outside was messy with twigs and leaves so as I cleaned up the camp sight this is what the Pugs did.......
I kept them in the screen room for most of the time....The Black flies were so bad I was afraid of them getting bit up. I Bought them some "PugSpray" (Actually it is in a Gel form) at the vet to keep the Black Flies from bothering them. It worked so good I used it on myself! It smells so good too... The Pugs did Great. They acted like they never left the place. They all went back into their favorite places like they did last season, Turbo on the sofa, Belle under the Table and Willow up on the table bench..... They were happy to see their K9 friends that they have not seen all winter......
I try to add a little each year to our sight. Last year I put in the little fish Pond..... This year I decided to focus around our entry way.......... this is what I did. This is what Belle thought of my hard work......

Saturday night Whitney came down with something. Sore throat, low grade fever and cough.... So I pulled out the sofa and she hung out there for the rest of the night and half of the next Morning.
So the pug-Posse did their best making her feel better.........

Whitney stayed home from school today, she still has a nasty cough and sore throat with a touch of Laryngitis. ( Yeah!) lol if you know Whitney...she is a chatter box. SO it was nice having her mute today! During the morning Tori's school nurse called to let me know Tori is sick and needs to come home. SO Bradley picked her up at 10am and she came home and slept until 6:30pm. Sigh........ I thought Flu season was over!
Okay.....as I write this the pugs Veterinarian just pulled in our door way? Huh? do they make house calls now for multiple Dogs? Sweet!
I should go see what is going on out There.......
..............................

..
I am back....... The Pugs are not to sure what to think of their Vet being here...They are out in the Pug yard barking like crazy. Come to find out her Husband is buying my Husband's Motorcycle he is selling....I should have mentioned the Home visit thing huh? Well I need to get the Posse round up..... they are really starting to bark!
