Fun in Vermont~

We took the weekend off from the lake this weekend to get a few things done around the house and to take a day trip. We thought about heading heading up to the White Mountains to go to Clark's Trading post and to drive up Mt Washington but we decided to head into Vermont and go to the Bromley Alpine Slides for the day. We stopped and went out for breakfast on the way and It took a little over an hour to get there. It is a real pretty ride there with all Back Country roads.

When we got there Tori and her Friend were psyched and planning on what they would like to do...Whitney had a melt down refusing to get on the chair lift and didn't want anything to do with the Alpine slide if it meant her having to ride on the chair lift. so I pulled out of the line we waited 20 minutes in with Whitney as Brad and Tori and her friend stayed behind. When we were sitting I was talking to Whitney about her trying the lift ( she has been on it before and did fine) and I pointed out all the little kids getting on and having fun. once she thought about it she found the courage and decided she wanted to give it a try. The family behind Brad were nice and let us cut back into line....... Tori and her friend Mitchell went before Whitney and I...........
Brad rode Solo behind us........
one we were up in the air...( I was terrified! but wouldn't let Whitney know just how scared I was...I HATE heights!) she chuckled and realized it was alot of fun up high on a chair lift and was okay with it.
Whitney listening to her instructions before she heads down the Mountain........
and there goes Tori...............

There goes Whitney.........

Click on this video to watch Whitney go down the Mountain all alone.......

I was right behind her the whole way video taping her as she went down( this was pretty tricky video taping and controlling my slide with one had~)...... she was such a Champ she went with Tori and her Friend the rest of the day as Brad and I stayed at the bottom on the deck enjoying snacks and Drinks......... Fun times...but the Chair lift did me in...I was done after that!

But Whit-Bit is ready to go back again before the summer comes to an end.......

Tori's new Look

Tori decided it was time for a Change...we are Both Hard Core Tori Spelling fans so since Tori shares Tori's name she thought she'd have the same hair style as her as well.........

got the Book sTori Telling a few weeks ago and just about finished reading it...then when I am done Tori wants to read it.......

Do any of you watch Tori and Dean on Tuesday nights? I am so addicted to that show....now the season is over and it is all reruns but I don't care. I still can watch them over and over. They remind me of Bradley and I. and their song they made together also reminds me of Brad and I ...we have such a Dorky relationship.... so the song suits us perfectely.... click here to watch the video of their song "SO IN LOVE" if you wish.....

First day of.....

Tori started her first day of High School today 9th Grade!... I can't believe my daughter is now a High Schooler. Where did her Preschool years go? I remember them like they were yesterday. Her outfits she wore to how she wanted me to style her hair. Now she is grown up enough to make those decisions on her own. Today one of her girlfriends called to see who she was going to school with and asked if they all wanted to go together since it is a New school for them and to help take the edge off they all went together.
So I dropped Tori off at her Friend Jessica's and a few others who were there and they all walked to school together. She text me telling me how much she liked the new school and really likes having open campus ( she catches a bus to bring her to different classes around town like one is Dance Workshop that takes place at a Dance Studio here in town. and she also has to take a bus to a tech school for a Computer assembly class) in time she will be allowed to have open lunch which allows the students to walk or drive to a place to have lunch outside of the school.
She also finds comfort being there knowing her Mimi ( My Mother ) works there in the cafeteria. Today she was happy to see her when she went for lunch, But she didn't eat due to still being nervous.......
Whit-bit started her 5th year of school today. this is her last year at the Elementary school. she feel good knowing she is one of the older ones in the school and is a mentor for the younger grades during recess to make sure everyone is getting along and if not she is there to help solve problem solving. She has alot of her friends in her class and really likes her 5th grade teacher. it was so chilly this morning...when i took these pictures it was only 47*! brrrrr~ Fall is near!
Lynn ( My sister ) if you are reading this.... I really think Tori looks alot like you in this picture

Giddy Up!

Back to the stables early this morning .... we stopped at a farm stand to buy the horses some fresh carrots for a treat. ( we also made the instructors Oatmeal Raisin cookies last night) we try to treat the instructors and horses nice since they are so nice to us. I can see why Whitney enjoys riding. we had such a great time riding together today. so much we are taking a few house tomorrow afternoon to ride again since it will be Whitney's last day of summer vacation. ( school starts on Wednesday!) then Whit and I will ride on Saturdays and one day after school during the week.......
Here is Whit-Bit posing with the bunch of carrots she picked out for Bull and Zee......

This the stable we go to.....( one of many )Whitney always likes to get Zee all fancy and Pretty before a ride...today she decided to brush her tail and put it in a braid..... This in MJ he is the FATTEST kitty I have ever seen...he is the Barn kitty...he must eat out of all the horses troths!

This is Bull.... his name is Bull Run he is 24 years old. he and I make a good team. we both did well together so he is now my horse at the stables for riding...
I can't wait to get back on him tomorrow afternoon......
( Somer?? notice my necklace? click on the picture to see it better........)

Whitney is really getting involved with the horses so much that we enrolled her today with the 4-H equestrian program to learn the proper care for a horse and go to shows and fairs. The first class starts next month.. she is really excited for this program as am I. I told Brad with the way things are going we need to plan on building a barn out back on the hill...I see horses in the future with a Sheep or 2...heck lets get Chickens and Pigs while were at it! LOL
Like a Pug rescue...there are Horse rescues in our area....Hmmmmmmm???
we would love to own horses someday...but not in the near future..if we do they will be boarded at the riding stable. I told Bradley. If Bull goes up for sale..We are buying him!

Back at Camp

We have not been to the lake in 2 weeks. I am ( was) feeling a little camped out. I love our place at the lake but lately I have (had) no interest in going. I think it is because we head over each Thursday or Friday and stay until Sunday or Monday each week.....Now that we have not been in 2 weeks it actually felt good to be back and realized it is nice to have this place to escape to. Now that School starts on Wednesday our time here at the lake will slow down.....I would miss not having this place... we plan on returning next year and many more ...

I was surprised our site looked like it was October!...the leaves are already starting to fall! We need to invest in a leaf blower....... Now that the nights here are getting chilly this is my favorite time of camping...

Our neighbors had these 2 nice folding chairs that they gave to us....Turbo really took a liking to the chair..... he now has this for his campfire chair.
Whitney Texting her cousins on her cell.....she actually has service at the lake!

Bradley cheated a little getting the fire going. From all the rain we had made our fire wood damp...so a little Tiki fuel did the trick in getting the fire going....so much so the fire pit was still smoldering in the morning....

Willow is feeling better and tomorrow she gets to be weaned onto some of her regular food! Yeah! so far she is doing well and is nearly 100% herself again.we had Corn on the Cob and we made sure there was no way she was going to her teeth sunk into one again! I tossed them into the fire pit!

She gets a little dozzy from her medications.....she sleeps all the time.
OMT really is a true Camp Pug..He loves the outdoors and really enjoys a good campfire and burnt Hotdog.
Belle just is a lazy pug and always nods off and snores away. Too much excitement for the Ole Girl.

Moved the folding chairs into the screen room Now Willow and OMT claimed them as their very own Pug lounger......

quick update

just letting everyone know that Willow is still home and doing well, she is eating and keeping it down. she is also taking her medication but is not liking taking them but she knows she has no choice. I feel bad that I can't give her a treat due to her very strict diet so I just give her extra loves for being so brave in taking her large Pills....

Not much of a post. but I just wanted to let you all know she is doing well.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and concerns.
I passed them onto Willow and she sends you Pug licks and snorts.

Willow Update~

well as of right now Willow is back at home...that is only if she does not throw up. if she Throws up I need to bring her back to remove the peices of corn cob that are still in her intestines. She spent the night at the vets and she was able to come home as long as she didn't vomit. When I went to go pick her up this morning the Vet walked me into the X ray room to show me her x rays ( I also have them on a disk but I forgot it at the vet...Grrr!) she was showing me the damage to her intestines and it showed peices of cob still working their way out. Seeing her x ray was so interesting. she is just a cute and adorable on the inside as she is on the outside. her little ribs and joints and her curly tail bone.... the vet believes she can pass the rest of the cob but if she starts to throw up I will need to bring her back to have them removed surgically. She is on a very strict diet ( special food from the vet) and is on medications. she developed a bacterial infection in her intestines and created an ulcer and really scratched up her stomach. so we are hoping she keeps everything down! When the vet did her x ray they had her drink barium....now when she poops it is Pure white! WHITE PUG POOP! looks like little marsh mellows! so funny~ ( I know my date is wrong on my camera....but this was just this afternoon when We brought Willow home) Whitney made sure she had a nice comfy place to rest so she made her a bed on the sofa.

Whitney making sure willow gets what she needs...right now all Willow wants is company and love.

and a afternoon nap with her Human sister............

I will keep you updated if anything changes.........

Pug and Trash don't mix..........

Willow willow willow....... what am I going to do with you? We keep the trash in the pantry closet for a reason...that reason is trash is not good for Pugs!

Willow got into some mischief the other night....we had Corn on the Cob for dinner and we threw the cobs in the trash.... we left for a short time and we came back to see a Pug ate the Cobs! we found half eaten cobs under our table....wondering who it was did not take long after Willow starting vomiting during the night, the next day she vomited just once......and today she vomited 3 times and she still was throwing up peices of Cob from the corn. I called the vet and the told me to bring her in ASAP. Once we got there she pooed all over their floor....GAH! she was pretty sick and nervous so I guess it was to be expected.... once they saw her they aked for me to leave her so they could do a Barium test to make sure she is passing anything...if not she will need surgery to remove any blockage in her intestines.

at 3pm I finally called the vet to check in to see how she is doing. Not hearing anything from them was killing me. she is still in testing and some of her x rays show damage to her intestines and is being kept over night and tomorrow until they know more. The vet said the barium passed but it showed trauma....what that is I don't know.
More tests will continue through the night and will be notified if anything changes. Right now they say she is resting comfortably with her Blanket from home.
I wish I knew she was staying other wise I would have given her a Mom to Pug talk about being a brave Pug... and that I would be back to bring her home...... I thought she was just going to go in for a check up. Gosh.......

at Bradley's Lunch hour he came home and sat on the sofa with O.M.T. and Belle talking about what happend to Willow and how Pugs eating Corn Cobs is dangerous! ( I wish I had this talk on video..so cute and funny)

I will update when I learn more........

Whitney and Zee

This summer Whitney started Horse Riding lessons each Monday and Thursday Mornings. She has always showed interest in horses and riding, She really has come a long way with her riding and really knows how to handle and control her horse. I have enjoyed watching her in her lessons so I decided to start lessons starting this Monday........

Here is Whitney leading Zee into the riding arena before her lesson........( I love this picture, it is like Whitney is really thinking hard about what is going to be learned today......)

As I sit and watch this kitty named Little Grey always comes in and keeps me company. she is so cute with double paws.

Whitney really is enjoying her lessons, so we are going to continue them through out the fall and winter......

Whitney trotting.......

Whitney leading Zee back to the stable after her lesson........
after the lesson Zee is treated with Animal crackers and a peppermint for a treat.......( yes Zee loves those red and white spiraled peppermints!)
Whitney waiting for the instructor to unsaddle Zee so Whitney can groom her.....
This is Remington..... Whitney rode Remington when she first started her lessons...Now Remington is retired due to a Tumor,
I fell in Love with Remington..... he is a sweet and Gentle man.... He even got a sip of my coffee I am holding. He loves his morning Coffee too~
