Horsing around

Well so far we have survived 4 nights with having Bull here...it is so different having a horse at your home rather than at the barn. Here I am all alone, with no one to turn to if I need help. Gah! But I can do it I know I can it is just so different! I have set up all his vetting appointments the Vet is coming on St.Patrick's day for Bull-Run's farm visit...all his shots, de-wormers and sheath cleaning...( I have dont this but not something I can say I enjoy doing...) (Sheath cleaning is...Cleaning his manhood!) His farrier Blacksmith is also coming the following week to take off his snowshoes and trim his hoofs and put on his regular shoes....hopefully by then most of the ice will be gone! I have been careful letting him out much since we have so much snow and banks... and it is pretty icy. Whitney and I sanded alot of his playground but a little too slippery for me to be comfortable letting him on his own... I let him wonder as i Mucked out his stall and filled the water buckets.

as he wandered around checking out his new area he trotted around in the deep show kicking the snow up behind like he was excited...

Does this jacket make my Butt look Big?

Bull found out that that wire fence will bite him when he gets too close....

Me talking to him telling him not to escape...if he escapes I have to call the police department so they can block my road so we can get him back safely....... I pray this will never happen!
Bull loves being up near the house...we made his paddock up past the house so Whitney can visit him from her bedroom window on the side of the house...

Whitney has been really good about helping out...she groomed him since he is shedding his winter coat.

So far so good...I decided to not go with a pasture mate right now...too much to take on at the moment...maybe in time I will get a Mini for him. But for now. I have my hands full with 4 Pugs and Bull...

Today was a BIG day....

Well...today was a BIG day.( "yesterday" since it is now after midnight) after a long process of Barn Building, putting 50+ fence posts into the frozen ground and 100's of yards of electric fencing, running to supply stores all over north Country for the past few months.....

Today...My Big Man (Bull~Run) was delivered to Join our family! I will share these picture with a Promise to post more later...I'M just tired and worn out after such a process...

coming to Bed Mum?

Bed time routine Pug Style!

This is what the Pugs do while I get ready for bed...they all line up at the end of the bed waiting for me to climb in with them....
believe it or not...Bradley and I sleeping in a queen sized bed with 4 Pugs is trickey...but we do just fine...now that the Pugs all have their own favorite spots for the night...
Turbo... up on my pillow hear my head
Willow...Between Bradley and I
Coal...at the end of the bed between our feet
Belle .... she is the floater. she will float around until she finds a spot that has not been taken. so each night we never know where Belle will end up...usually she climbs up on Bradley's belly and he lets her sleep on his chest all night...
Now that is a true Pug lover! I don't think I could let Belle sleep on my chest all night!

Long few days...

Oh boy where do I start...

First I am wondering how my sister and my niece are doing while they journey around in England on a school field trip...how exciting.... they flew in yesterday.

yesterday was a rough day...first we gave our notice over at the lake saying we will not be returning. We have so much going on and to be honest last summer we were just not "Feeling" it. so we gave our notice and today my email is getting flooded with emails inquiring about our place. wanting to buy the screen room and deck. we thought about keeping our camper just to have just in case we want a quick get away...but we decided to sell that too...it would have been nice to have the camper to take to Whitney's horse shows to have a place to go to between shows and overnight shows....the pugs could go too...but realistically it is not going to work so we are selling that too. so we decided to get a heater and a slide for our swimming pool. Our yard will be our mini get away...and a possible week vacation to the ocean in Maine... besides Bull will be living here very soon and we are possibly getting him a fun pasture mate...Click here... we have found a few but still looking for the right one seeing how Whitney may use it for her showmanship class for her 4H. as she will ride her regular horse for her riding shows. The Mini will also make a great pasture mate for Bull so he wont get lonely since he will be leaving his 40+ friends behind at the barn in another week or so.
This just may be Bull's pasture friend! ( the lighter coloerd one)

as for the barn...sighhhh it was a sad sad day there today. ( last-night ) the horse trainer was long-lining ( click here to see what long-lining is...) Pattykins last-night and something spooked Pattykins and she bucked sideways and dropped dead. Believed to have punctured her lung while she twisted when she went sideways. Nothing anyone could do. It happened so fast. Today we took off her Bridal and Bit and the tack on her and prepared her for a burial. ( It happened so late last night we decided to leave her in the arena...) as we stayed with her we took clippings of her tail to turn into bracelets. I had a few minutes with her today and I patted her and told her she was Brave and I was going to be listening for her Hoofs Galloping up in heaven. She was removed by a backhoe and placed in her grave at the barn. I tossed in a few peppermints that she loved as a special treat.... she left us too early. she was only 8 years old.

RIP PattyKins..I'll miss your sweetface~

Ok...as I wipe my tears off my face...lets finish on a positive note...

TURBO IS RESPONDING WELL to his new medication...he is on a heave Dose of DMSO (dmso is dimethyl sulfoxide) and it is doing its job. you have to wear gloves applying it if it touches your skin with in a few minutes you will taste a bad taste like metal. He needs 5 drops in his ears once a night and he is also on a pill form of DMSO he needs to take 1 time in the morning...Phewww his ears were sooo bad they were turning inside out and would ooze gooey stuff... this was our very last resort. ...Thank Goodness it is working great and fast!

Coal had a not so pleasant vet appointment a few weeks ago...he keeps losing his back-end and falls the vet ( one we never see) and he took xrays and said that there is not much we can do...he has no hip ball and is bones are rubbing against each-other causing nerve damage. and the best thing is to have his leg removed...WHAT? WHAT? No No No No NO! I hurried home and talked to Bradley about it and then we called his Foster Mom from the rescue to get her thoughts on this and if she heard of such a thing...it didn't feel right to her either...she then contacted her vet who did hip surgery on Coal and they were shocked to hear what the vet we saw said...I made another app. with the vet we always see and Love to death...he didn;t agree with the vet that we saw a few days prior... but he did point out that Coal has one leg that is 1 1/2 inches shorter and his patella may need surgery someday...but with proper meds and joint supplements he can have his leg his entire life..he will just always walk with a Limp due to his leg being shorter than the other.. so he is responding well to his meds too! he has yet lost his back-end or fallen since his new treatment.!!! Yea! Clap Clap,Clap..so if something does not sound right to you...investigate it before you jump the Gun!

Shower lickers

after someone gets out of the shower....you know where to fine these 4 Pugs!!

Licking away at the water droplets left.... only if they had scrubbers on their feet and tongue...to help get rid of the shower scum!

I tried to snap a picture of them licking the door but each time I took a pic they stopped!
