Free at Last

She's been able, but too chicken to do this for the last 6 weeks. I think we'll both enjoy this new found independence.

Happy Birthday Erin

I really wanted to post this yesterday, but I had an ornery Birthday Girl who refused to nap. So, one year ago yesterday we took 2 trips to the hospital. The first time I got sent home. A few hours later there was a mad rush to get everything ready and the doctor there in time to deliver our tiny baby girl (45 minutes from the time we got there.) I could hardly believe it when they told me that she only weighed 5 lbs! It's been amazing to see her grow into a little person. She's still not brave enough to walk without holding my finger, but one of these days... She says hi, daddy, doggy, thank you, more, and uh-oh! She has her own words for things like peek-a-boo and Ben, but I wouldn't know how to start spelling them. She's great at driving cars (with sound effects) and growling like a dinosaur, I guess these are the hazards of having an older brother. We tried giving her 'girly' presents for her birthday, but she made the My Little Pony growl, then Ben fed the baby to his dino. Sad, but oh so funny.
Happy Birthday Erin! We love you!

This and That

I completely forgot to post a Halloween picture in my October post, so here it is a few weeks late.
My little dino & ladybug, and Brandon: the garbage man. I was the lame one without a costume this year.

Erin hit the 11-month mark. She is such a cutie. Still a mommy's girl, but is warming up to others some. She's to that frustrating point of being able to walk, but too scared to go for it. Last night she stood up in the middle of the room and took a step, but when she looked back and realized that I was watching, she immediately sat down. Silly girl. Oh well, it won't be long now.

Brandon and Ben had to make good use of the first decent snowfall, of course. Ben loved bringing the snowman to life.

And that's what we've been up to.

And the rest...

I highlighted a few moments in October, but here's the rest of the story.

We spent a week in Moab for the annual Jensen deer hunt. The kids and I hung out at the house with Grandma while they boys camped, but we did go up to visit for an afternoon. It just so happened that Brandon got his deer the day we were coming.
It seemed a little small for a 4-point, but it was a 4-point nonetheless!

It was pretty cold outside, so Ben had to entertain himself in the trailer.

We took the kids to the park to feed the ducks. Erin had more fun than she lets on in the pictures.

It wouldn't be a trip to Moab without a ride on the four-wheeler for Ben.
We celebrated Ben's birthday before we left. Grandma made Ben this awesome dinosaur birthday cake. What a lucky guy.

I thought one birthday cake was probably enough, especially since we still had the leftovers. So, when we celebrated his birthday at home we went with Fat Boys!
Ben is actually singing to himself in that picture. He's very into the birthday song.

Now he can be a handyman just like daddy!

Three Years Ago...

we were blessed with this sweet little boy. He came a full month earlier than we expected, but I can't really complain about that. He is so mellow and has such a tender heart. I can about count the number of real tantrums he's had because they are so few. He's not perfect by any means, but today I can pretend he is. Happy Birthday Buddy! I love you!

Family Pictures!

Here are some of our family pictures. Erin was actually more cooperative than Ben, but I think they turned out pretty well. When Brandon has some time to do more editing I will try to post some more.

Check out the CheapShots link on the side. They do a great job for great prices (they even did the editing on most of these ones) and give you a cd with all the pictures in the end!

October update

I've been MIA for the past month, so let's get caught up. October began with Brandon heading to Oklahoma for two weeks with work. He was in the Tulsa area and said it was nice, but he's glad to be back and we're super glad to have him.

While Brandon was gone Erin became a big 10 month old She is so much fun. She loves to climb stairs, practice walking, eat adult food, and mimic words. Where did my 5 lb peanut go?

The kids were pretty excited to have daddy home. The morning after he got back I found all 3 of them cuddling in bed for some Saturday morning cartoons.

The rest of these are just random pics of the kids over the month.
