Another Fun...and WET trip to Moab

We went to Moab again this weekend, but this time we took some of my family too. We had a lot of fun, but there was a lot of rain! We went out to the desert for a weenie roast and shooting, but somehow the hot dogs never made it into a cooler. So, we had to upgrade potato salad from a side dish (or condiment if you ask Scott), to the main course.

Yummm.....

Even without the hot dogs, we still had fun. This picture is of my mom shooting. I couldn't hit anything, but the rest of the group did pretty well.

This is the rattle snake Kellie found. Brandon decided to poke it with a stick so he could get a better picture. I was in the car with the kids and didn't know anything about it until after. I'm just glad the snake was too cold to play.

We got back to the house just in time. Within an hour it started pouring rain. It was amazing to watch sheets of water roll down the windows, and then it happened again Sunday. So much for our trip to the park to feed the ducks. Fortunately, Ben found a different animal to torment. This is Jack, Grandpa's cat. Ben loves him.

Garden Time!

For family night this week we planted our garden. This is only our second year to have one and we are so excited! We planted tomatoes, squash, zucchini, carrots, onions, cilantro, cucumbers, and various peppers.

It was Erin's first planting, she obviously loved it!

Ben was a SUPER big helper, but in the end I had to take the helpers in so that Brandon could finish.

No, that's not a mud ring around Ben's mouth, it's birthday cake. Happy Birthday Jaxson!

Another Case of the Blurps

So, I have not been very good at posting any updates lately. Here's a few random things that have been going on with the Jensen family for the last couple of weeks.

Our anniversary celebration was great! My parents came down to watch the kids so we could go out. First, we went to a spa in Payson for a 'couples massage'. Neither of us had ever had a professional massage before...it was awesome. SO relaxing. Then we did some shopping and had dinner at Red Lobster. Yum.

We kept Mother's Day pretty simple. Erin was nice enough to sleep for 10 straight hours, giving me 7 straight. It felt so good that I decided to get up with Ben instead of waking Brandon up. He did let me take a nap later though. Then, we went to my Mom's for dinner. We didn't see Brandon's mom, but Happy Mother's Day Jan!

The kids, of course, get bigger and funnier every day. Erin turned 5 months old! She laughs and rolls a little. Ben can hardly stand waiting for her to be able to run around with him. They're going to have so much fun together! I didn't think to take pictures until the end of the day, so here she is in boy jammies ready to fall asleep.

Brandon was out watering our trees and Ben and I decided to have a little fun with the water. Let's just say he won.I know there have been a lot of anti-spider posts lately, so if you get really creeped out by spiders- don't look at this picture!
This is what I found when I brought the kids down for breakfast one morning this week. The web was smack dab in the middle of the kitchen, strung between a chair and the fridge. When I showed Brandon the pictures I think he was worried that I freaked out and was coming to get him to take care of it; but actually I was quite intrigued. As much as I don't like spiders in the house, this was pretty cool. After the pictures, however, I did kill the spider.

7 Years Good Luck!

Today is our 7 year anniversary! I don't really attribute it to luck, more like many, many blessings. So, in honor of my sweetie, I'm posting a husband tag from Heidi. We're celebrating tomorrow, so I'll post more then.
1. Where did you meet?
In Brandon's apartment. One of his roommates had a crush on two of my roommates, so he invited my apartment over to watch a movie- on Brandon's equipment of course.

2. How long did we date before we were married? 8 1/2 months, engaged for 5 1/2 of those.

3. How long have we been married? 7 years today!

4. What does he do that surprises you? He LOVES to do yard work. Maybe some of it is just the novelty of having our own yard, but if he's not working on it he's staring at it out the window making plans for it.
5. What is your favorite quality about him? I love that he loves to be at home with his family. When he gets to stay home and play with us you can tell it's where he wants to be.

6. Does he have a nickname for you? If 'Dani' counts, he used to have more before we grew out of the schmooky stage I guess. (sigh)

7. What is his favorite color? I think blue, but I also think it depends on what is going to be that color.

8. What is his favorite food? popcorn

9. What is his favorite sport? Not really a 'sports' kinda guy. If he had to pick one to play, it would be soccer.

10. Who said I love you first? Brandon

11. When and where was your first kiss? September 2001 - on the Lips, duh! ;)

12. What's your favorite thing to do as a couple? Sit on the porch bench after the kids go to bed and talk while we try to snuggle. (A little hard on a wooden bench) Or, watching movies on the projector.

13. Kids? The cutest ones ever! Ben is 2 1/2, Erin is 5 months

14. Hidden talent: Does flexing in front of the mirror count? He's actually quite the artist.

15. How old is he? 29, this year will be the big 30!

16. What is his favorite type of music? Christmas, but no, he doesn't listen to it year round.

17. What do you most admire about him? Brandon works so hard to provide for us. I love that he is committed to having me at home with the kids and is willing to make so many sacrifices to do it. I love how excited he gets about building, making, and creating things for our home or yard.

18. What is his favorite pastime? Shooting, movies, video games (hasn't had time for that one in a while)

19. Do you think he is going to read this? Of course, maybe not today though.
