Happy 1st Birthday Noah!

Our little guy is already 1!  Since he thoroughly enjoys growling at any dinosaur in sight, we went with a dino cake for the big day.  After creating the cake above, I asked Brandon if there was anything we could make from the cut out pieces for a smash cake.  He quickly devised the little dino below. Genius!

It was tough coming up with ideas of what to get the third child for his first birthday.  He is in no need of clothes or toys.  After some deliberation we decided that since the older siblings are much more aware of the birthday excitement we could get some things everyone would benefit from.  We gave Noah some books and movies and the big kids were quite enthused with the event.

I had a hard time convincing Erin that she needed to give Noah a chance to at least try to open his own presents.  Luckily Nana and Papa came through with some early Valentine's so they wouldn't feel left out.

Nana & Papa gave Noah this Bullseye rocker.  He loves it!...when Erin allows him a turn to ride on it. :)  Okay, she actually loves to 'help' him ride it, but has basically claimed charge of the animal.
Alas, Noah was not super enthused about his opportunity to make a giant neon green mess of himself.  He picked at the cake a little, but his heart just wasn't in it.
Erin made sure Noah had another chance on the horse the next day.  He's still all smiles.
We finally got a trace of snow that lasted long enough to build a snowman.  We've been severely disappointed with the lack of snow-fun to be had this winter.
I love that the oreo mouth looks more like a creepy mustache.

Lucky Elephant Lucky Winners

Long story short, we won a photo shoot from Lucky Elephant Sudios!  I've known this amazing photographer most of my life and would highly recommend her!  We took pics at the City Library so we could be indoors and still have good light.  It was an interesting atmosphere, but we got some great pictures.

p.s.- I still need to claim my 8x10, so cast your vote and help me decide!

Nothing new in January

We actually did a lot in January: taught preschool, annual boys day out at the car show, had a mini high school reunion at our house, started teaching preschool ballet...and all the usual stuff.
But, if you don't take pictures of something, did it really happen???  Well, while you ponder that, here are random pictures of things that provably happened.
 Noah discovered a new love...Mac'n'Cheese!
We spent Stake Conference in the Primary room because we could hear as well as in the gym, but our kids could actually move around, allowing us to be a bit more attentive to the speakers.  Erin had to sport her new kitty had from Nana through most of the meeting.
Nothing like 3 kids clamoring in the crib!
As I briefly mentioned, I've started teaching a preschool ballet.  Really, I wanted to start Erin in dance but didn't like my options.  So, I decided to start giving her lessons and we've invited a couple of friends over to make it more like a real "class" and to keep me motivated and on task.  It's been a lot of fun and soon I'll post pics of the little ballerinas in action.
Ben is obsessed with Angry Birds.  When his phone/computer time is up he has resorted to building his own sets out of blocks and uses legos for the pigs and birds.  He even has the different colors of birds do different tricks.  It's pretty awesome.
Slight evidence of our preschool mania.  We're still doing co-op preschool and January was my turn to teach.  We learned about Hawaii one day and here we see Erin playing the drum and shaker while Ben hula's.  I must say I am constantly entertained with these little characters!
