Here are some of my latest pottery creations. Things are finally starting to look like I want them to! But, a serious potter can still see the flaws, so on I learn and practice. My favorite pieces are the white bowl on the left with the fingery looking things along the lip, the canister, and the large mixing/pouring bowl.

The new (used) kiln Laurel and I just bought. It's a manual Skutt. No more paying to use someone else's. Now we just need to figure out how to use it...

Friend Jessica and I ran a 10K this morning, my first race! It was really exciting to run with 17,000 other people through downtown Austin. Our time was 56 minutes 21 seconds; that's a 9:04 mile. I just wanted to get under 10 min/mile so I'm super happy with how well we did. Jessica beat her time from last year by more than 5 minutes, impressive! I think it was her running partner =) Geoff, Grey and Aubry came to cheer us on at the halfway point, thanks Smiff fam! We plan to look even more ridiculous next year... gotta keep Austin weird.

We went to Zilker Park today since it was windy, hoping to finally get the kite in the air.

There's a park in our neighborhood that is very open with no playscape. We met Jess and Hazel there for a picnic and another go with the kite.

We went to visit Sunny's place in Bastrop a week or so ago. The kids loved running around, seeing the dogs, flying the kite (sort of) and feeding the birds.

Sunny was determined to get Grey's kite in the air. It never really made it though.
