Josh turned 30 today so here are 30 things about Josh...
1. He will hate this post. He wanted no attention on his birthday so if you read this just chuckle to yourself and then pretend you never saw it.
2. Josh is really good with babies. When I hold newborns they usually cry, when Josh holds them they go to sleep.
3. Josh's favorite cereals are Captain Crunch Berries and Honey Nut Cheerios. Honorable mentions go to Frosted Mini Wheats and Lucky Charms.
4. Josh is really good at tucking me in so I'm not cold at night. This is to make up for stealing my favorite blanket that I used to sleep with.
5. Josh won't eat spicy foods. Anything slightly above ketchup level is spicy.
6. Josh hates to wear his seat belt, but he'll put it on if I insist.
7. Josh loves Chicken Parmesan and Chicken Alfredo. He's excited about the new Olive Garden going up near us.
8. Josh is a news junkie, especially if its about politics.
9. Josh is really good with directions, but that hasn't stopped him from playing with his new toy - a Garmin Nuvi GPS thingy.
10. Josh used to be what I call a startler. Really hard to wake up with no transition between asleep and awake. He would practically jump out of the bed like a provoked tiger. Thankfully parenthood and work phone calls have robbed him of that fun habit.
11. Favorite late night snack - Oreos and a glass of milk for dunking.
12. Ironing - Josh's job, and without complaint!
13. Most generous guy I know.
14. Never saw a Simpson's episode he didn't like (although everyone agrees the movie was terrible).
15. Josh loves Pride and Prejudice but draws the line at my other literary girly passions like Wives and Daughters or Anne of Green Gables.
16. Josh just walked in and almost caught me writing this. He really wants to know what I'm posting about, but he agreed to wait till I'm done.
17. Josh introduced me to Harry Potter. If we could find a non-weird, not getting beat up on the playground name from the books we would name our child with it. Maybe someday we'll have a Longbottom John.
18. I made Josh a Dumbledore's Army shirt and he wore it until the iron-ons started coming off.
19. Josh now thinks he's old. He's said that alot today.
20. Thanks to Blair, I can't get Josh to stop showing me videos from Failblog.
21. Josh loves Dr. Pepper more than me. I don't care what he says, its true.
22. Josh doesn't like peanut butter or spaghetti. These are two of my favorite foods in the whole world. (But not together.)
23. Josh leaves me fun notes. And he writes in all caps.
24. Josh thinks I ignored him at college, but really he just needed to stop dating all my friends.
25. Josh complimented me on my hair clips when I was having a bad-hair pony-tail day. That's when I knew for sure that he liked me.
26. Josh used to drive from Thatcher to Mesa to see me on the weekends without sleep.
27. Josh thinks Mikey is the cutest, handsomest, smartest, funniest boy in the whole world.
28. When Josh gets together with his friends from high school, its like they are 16 again (or is it 6?).
29. Josh makes me laugh.
30. Josh and I have been married for almost 7 years. He's my guy!
Occasional posts about me (Rachel), my husband Josh, and our adorable kids Zach, Mikey, and Graham (I'm not biased or anything).

Sealing Day
As many of you know its been a busy weekend for us and we are very happy and tired now that its over. On Saturday we had Michael sealed to us in the Mesa Temple and it was awesome! My whole family got to be there since they were in town for Thanksgiving. A special thank you to Mary and Aaron for driving down from Utah and to Shane for flying in. Mikey did great, even though I had to scoop up the little guy to keep him from running down the hall in the most sacred place on earth! I don't have all the pictures yet, but I'll post a few for now. Josh and I just marvel at how lucky we are to get to keep Mikey forever. He brings us such great joy and fun. I wish I could freeze him at 15 months - it just seems to be the perfect age, but we look forward to all the new stuff too. Love you Mikey Bear!
Josh's family - Mikey was pretty hungry and tired at this point :) (Click on the picture to see his mad face) And he is not wearing shorts - his pants were just riding up in almost every picture. (above)

Locked doors
One of Michael's new things is locking himself into rooms. He can't quite turn the handle to open a door yet, but he can reach the little lock and turn it. The first time he did it was a few weeks ago when I was just about to give him a bath. I went down the hall to get a towel and heard a door close and click. I knew that the keys to all the doors were somewhere in a plastic baggie in my junk drawer so I tore that apart while hoping Mikey hadn't gotten into the toilet. He's been fascinated with the flusher lately. My junk drawer is hopeless so I found a zip tie and used that. It made me feel a little like McGiver and as an added bonus, Mikey was thrilled with the mess I made on the kitchen floor.

What did you have for lunch today?
I've been thinking about a post like this for a while, as strange as that sounds. I'm always trying to come up with new things to feed Mikey for lunch and even Pre-Mikey when I was working, I got tired of buying or bringing the same things. So I am tagging anyone who reads this to either comment with an idea or post on your blog something yummy you made using what's already in your kitchen. I am no cook but I was pretty happy with today's lunch. Its always nice to make something both Mikey and I can eat together.
Macaroni Salad (Sorry, I don't measure)
cooked Macaroni Salad Noodles (perfect for little fingers)
two celery stalks (chopped really small in my case)
1 carrot chopped up tiny
cubed cheddar cheese
1 can tuna drained
couple tablespoons miracle whip
dash of olive oil
dash of red wine vinegar
dash of seasoning salt
dash of garlic salt
Here is Mikey with the leftovers.

Halloween Night
Even thought Mikey and I had colds, we put on Mikey's costume and took him around to a few houses in the culdesac.

Josh's family came by on their hayride and we joined them for a little while. Mikey's cousin Harmon was also a monkey. You'll notice that Mikey has candy in one hand and a rock in the other. He can't make it through our yard without picking up a rock.
