So Patricia USED to live in Tucson. Which was nice because she was only and hour and a half away from me. So I could go see her as much as I wanted. It was so easy.
But, because it was so easy........I rarely did it.
So now, Patricia and Branden have moved to San Francisco.
And I miss my sister a TON!
So of course we decided to take a road trip to surprise Pepi.
It was kind of interesting how it came about.
Jared and I were driving to help out with our Stake's youth conference in Superior. On the drive up, Jared asked what the boys and I were going to do over spring break. I said I hadn't planned anything, but we'd probably go and visit my mom and dad.
Then I uttered these fateful words, "It would be really awesome if we could go and visit Pepi."
Jared laughed and said there was no way I could plan a trip to San Francisco in one day.
So I got on the phone and called my mom. I asked her if she was ready for an adventure.
Her reply? "Always." (My mom's adventuring spirit is one of my favorite things about her).
So we planned our trip super quick. And then I called Branden and asked him if he wanted to help us surprise Pepi. He of course was willing to help us out.
So Sunday morning the boys and I drove to Yuma, picked up my parents and then continued on to San Francisco.
We hit some pretty interesting weather and so we didn't get there until about 11:00pm.
BUT! Our surprise WORKED!
She had no idea and was super shocked.
Once we got the surprise out of the way, we had a fun four days in San Francisco with the Parises.
We were good little tourists and visited all the major landmarks.
Like the Golden Gate Bridge.
Then we walked around by the pier that evening and did some shopping and went to Ghirardelli for some yummy chocolate treats.
The next day, because Patricia and I are such TV junkies we went to see the Full House houses
And of course we went to see the Mrs. Doubtfire house.
And we drove down Lombard Street.
And we got a kick out of the public restrooms around the city. They were super fancy.
Because we are Star Wars freaks, we had to go to the LucasFilm complex.
The next morning we got up and went to the Japanese Tea Gardens. They were beautiful!
Then, later that afternoon we went to Alcatraz. That was super cool. It was one of my bucket list items. I always love when I get to check things off my list.
That night we walked around Pier 39. It was such a great spontaneous trip. We really enjoyed our time with the Paris family.
I can't wait to go back!
