Easter Eggstravaganza!

Easter is definately my 2nd favorite holiday next to Christmas. This year was a busy year with our annual easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Kennedys, easter dinner on both sides, giving the easter lesson in Young Womens and celebrating Grandpa Kennedys birthday! Every year the easter bunny brings (buys) way too much candy, ends up with tons left over and eats way too much sugar. I think 85% of the food I consumed this weekend was sugar. It doesn't help that I'm pregnant either.

Here are the kids after the hunt on Friday night. It was Lucas' first egg hunt and he could have cared less about finding more eggs once he realized there was candy in them.

You can see the anticipation of the kids before we let them bolt out the door. I wish I could have snapped a picture of Lucas when he came out of the house with his basket on his head.

I'm not sure if Alice was sharing or if Lucas was swiping.

We have church at 9:00am which isn't too early at all, but when you want to make a yummy breakfast, I have to get up pretty early. I whipped up some yummy waffles and eggs for our easter breakfast.

Obviously Maggie rocks out in her sleep....nice bed head.

We actually were running a tad bit late so I had Russell snap some pictures real quick and of course Lucas had to hold his blanket

I couldn't find the tripod for the camera so we didn't get a family pic. We were running too late, sorry Russell! You can't tell how high my belly is and maybe it was just the dress but every single person I made eye contact with at church had some comment about my belly.....yes, obviously I'm pregnant, I have been for 7and a half months...I still have 8 weeks to go, get used to it!
The Easter Bunny was too busy with other houses before church so we had to wait for him to come after church.

This is Maggie thinking she found her basket but it was just the one I took to YW.

Maggie found Lucas' basket...he had no idea what it meant to find his easter basket.

She finally found hers.

Yet again, couldn't get him to part with his candy for a second so I could take a picture of his face.

All in all we had a wonderful Easter weekend and will probably gain a few lbs. and maybe a few cavities because of it but that's what the holidays are all about right?! Hope everyone had a great day!

Easter time...

What is Easter time with out a new haircut? I was trying to grow Lucas' hair out but it was looking pretty narly so I decided to give him a little trim. I love when he looks like such a big boy and since yesterday was such a beautiful day I thought I'd take him outside for a little photo opp but the sun was in his eyes and I couldn't get him to look at the camera for anything!

Maggie had to give me a good pose with her crazy hair, maybe I should have trimmed hers too!
Secondly, what is Easter in AZ without seeing the Easter Pagent? Maggie, my mom and I decided to go since Russell and I didn't have mutual last night. Lucas stayed home with grandpa and dad so we could go and it was amazing as always! We got there early enough to sit in the 5th or 6th row, and of all the 20 or so years that I've been going, I have never sat that close! It was great. Maggie fell asleep half way through but I enjoyed every minute. If you have never seen it or maybe just not this year yet, I encourage you to go, it makes Easter so special.

Maggie's famous "silly face"

Whats the Easter Pagent without dinner? We had Jack-in-the-Box and I was so jealous of the people sitting next to us who brought homemade ricecrispy treats. I was dying for one. It's funny to watch everyone feast as they are waiting for the show to start.
This is the main stage, I couln't get the whole thing in because of all the people standing in the view
All of the actors walk around before the show starts, sorry it's a little dark

The angels have always been my favorite

This was the ten virgins dance, also a favorite. I couldn't use my flash so that's why its blurry but I think the colors look so pretty. I'm so glad we found a night to go because it is such a special message that helps remind us what Easter is all about. Thanks dad and Russell for watching Lucas so we could go!

In Loving Memory of Charles Henry Feehan

This past weekend was bitter sweet. My mom's dad which to me is "Grandpa Chuck" passed away. I know he lived a very good life and was a very humble person who was very close to the Lord. He was loved by all those who knew him and has many people who will miss his presence. I also know that he was greeted by so many friends and more importantly family who have been waiting to be reunited with him. He was a WWII vetran and also a retired Fire Cheif of the Evergreen CO station. Even after retirement he still worked just as hard building diesel engines. He was such a hard worker and such a joy to be around. I loved the way he would sit back and just enjoy the conversation of those around and I loved his chuckle, the way he smelled, the time he took to play cards with me, his hugs, and even though I didn't live close or talk to him on a regular basis, I always knew he loved me and my family. He is survived by his sweet wife and my sweet grandma Lucille and all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are all lucky to have known him and have him influence or be part or our lives. We will miss him dearly!

His burial was a beautiful cerimony and because of his service in WWII, it was led by the honor guard

This was the last picture taken of Grandpa Chuck, 86 years old

The Evergreen fire truck and some of the firemen who knew him or his family came to pay their respects at his funeral

Baby update.....

Nothing too exciting to update. I went to the Doc today and I'm almost 30 weeks and actually measuring right on target which at this time with Lucas I was measuring 3 weeks BIG! I'm hoping for some miraculous reason that this baby will be normal size and not come out weighing as much as an one month old. I will not post a pic of my big belly b/c everytime I take a pic I think the camera is about to break...just kidding but putting on the pregnancy pounds and a picture of my face don't go hand in hand. If you've seen me lately then you know that I look like I'm ready to be due next week. All in all, I'm very blessed with great pregnancies and healthy babes so I can't complain!

We Have a Birthday Boy!!!

Our not so little boy is 2 years old today! What an eventful day it has been, let me tell you. Both of the kids LOVE balloons so Russell and I had blown some up last night so when Lucas came out this morning he saw all of the balloons and him and Maggie were in heaven! After some yummy homemade waffles for breakfast, we ventured all the way to the red mountain Target so I could get his pictures taken only to find that they didn't open until 10:00! So we walked around for a half an hour and went back and found out that some other lady was there because she had an appt.(I was just hoping to sneak in without one), then Lucas decided it was a great time to dump a load in his drawers(which wreaked to high heaven), so we went to pay for our stuff and I went out to the car to change him. I would have liked to go back in to get his pics taken but he was throwing the biggest fit over who knows what and that helped me make up my mind....which was to go straight home. Why is it that birthday kids are always grouchy on their birthday? After a much needed but not long enough nap, we ventured on to Chucky Cheese to celebrate and it went pretty well, Lucas is in his element there. Who know what the rest of the day will bring but I'll be glad when both of my crazy kids are in bed! I think he'll enjoy his toys when all the excitement of the day settles a little bit. Thank you to Grandma, Charlon, Lindsay, Summer, Craig and Julie, and Grandma and Grandpa K for all the wonderful gifts and for supporting Lucas on this special day!

The boy would not look at the camera to save his life!

Sweet little Sailor was so good the whole time in her stroller!

Grandma Cathie, Cole, and aunt Charlon

Cade and Maggs in the background

Little Alice, she just woke up and was testing out the scene

Krew, he was so into this game

Baby Lindsey was so cute to give me that little smile.

The older of the Gardner girls, Natalie and Brooke, they weren't too sure about Chucky

Maggie wouldn't get close to Chucky until they threw all the tickets in the air.

He tried so hard to blow them out but wouldn't do it hard enough because he knew they were "hot"

Lots of fun presents!
2 years ago today, our sweet yet strong little Lucas was born at 3:34pm after 45 min. of INTENSE pushing and more pain then I want to ever feel again in my life. It wasn't the picture perfect delivery and then after he was born he was rushed off to the nursery because he didn't get all the fluid out of his lungs and thats where he stayed for the remainder of our hospital stay. He actually didn't have a name until 3 days after he was born but I'm so glad we picked Lucas.

I chose this picture of him crying his eyes out because that is just so picturesque of him now...always throwing a fit! ( well not always but he's got just as much spice as he does sugar)

He was sportin' the chubby cheeks right away! They still havn't gone away!

His blessing day

My two little chunks...Lucas had thrush so thats why his mouth is all purple.

Our little cowboy....does it look like he has a choice?

Doing what he loves best....eating

Our big boy! He is quite the little stinker but full of character and life. I hope he grows up to be a sweet boy and always loves his mama.
