Where did the time go?

Our not so little Violet is 4 and a half months now. Where does the time go? I see all these new little babies and I ask myself "wasn't that just me having a new little Violet like yesturday?" I love watching her grow and do new things but I loved having a newborn again. I took her to her 4 month well check and she is a whoppin 16lbs which puts her in the 95th percentile, also 95th for her length and 25th for her head size, our first kid that doesn't have a huge noggin. She is still eating every 3 hours like a good little dooby and she picked up another middle of the night feeding which wasn't the case if you read my other blog entry at her 2 month mark. She must be growing(obviously). She is such a joy and a sweet baby. Maggie loves her so much and wants to be around her all the time. As soon as Violet catches a glance in Maggie's direction she is all smiles. She is in her crib now....well for half of the night and somehow ends up in bed with mom and dad for the rest of the night. No rice cereal yet which is fine by me, it's so messy. Last week she decided it was time to start rolling over and Russell and I were actually sitting there so we got to witness that and it was great.

This Ariel doll is her new favorite friend, as you can see by the tight clutch she has on it. Maggie loves sharing it with her and thinks it's so cool that she holds onto it.

She loves the exersaucer even though the only time she touches the toys is accidently, she figured out how to rock herself in it and she goes to town.

We love our little Violet, such a sweet addition to the family.

Disneyland 08'

Yahoo! We went to Disneyland this week and it was sooo fun. My parents, the kids and I left Monday morning at 6am and we went straight to the park. The fun part was that we didn't tell Maggie where we were going until we got in the car so she had no idea and she was so excited. The first day we did California Adventure which was okay, but it was so hot!

Check out the pose and imagine her saying "razzle dazzle!" I think she got that from Yo Gabba Gabba

Lucas was a hot mess. We are not used to the humidity and I had them in pants thinking it was going to cool off...not so much. Notice Maggies shirt is soaked in the back thanks to the river ride which we all got soaked on.

Little Violet did so good the whole time

"Razzle dazzle!"

The new Toy Story ride was so much fun, probably more so for the adults than the kids

This picture was taken maybe 5 minutes after I gave him that lollipop, he ate it in less than 10min easy.

This is Lauren and Maggie, she was a girl Maggie met on the Soarin over California ride

On Tuesday we went to Disneyland and we felt like we were home. I like Cali. Adventure but it's just not the same as good ol' D-land. When we first walked in we saw Mickey Mouse and Lucas wanted nothing to do with him so Maggie and I got a pic.(sorry about the head cut off)

This is Maggie and Kylie, another girl she met while in line for the princess autographs and pictures

This princess (Aurora) was the most beautiful girl and she talked and acted just like a real princess, it was so cute to watch.

Grandma and Grandpa, we loved the train. Haven't been on it since I was in highschool so it was fun to relax and enjoy the ride.

Good ol' Goofy, Lucas was fine as long as my mom held him.

Lucas loved the roller coaster in toon town, they rode it twice.

"razzle dazzle!" We had so much fun and it was the best Disneyland trip we've had in a long time. The weather on Tues. was perfect and the lines were so short, we walked onto every ride and the longest wait was actually Peter Pan. Can't wait to go again but I think we'll wait a couple of years.

Lucas was having a meltdown because we wouldn't let him eat candy for breakfast.

"razzle dazzle!" This is her new thing, it makes me laugh everytime.

On Wed. morning we went to the Sugar Shack for a yummy breakfast and then walked down the pier and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. I love the beach.

So on the ride home I turn around to find Lucas asleep like this..

and Maggie like this...

All in all it was short and sweet. I'm so jealous of all the locals who get to go to Disneyland when ever they want. I'm so glad we were able to go and have such a great time. Thanks Mom and Dad for everything!

Weekend in a nutshell

I love the routine of a normal week of getting Maggs off to school, cleaning the house, regular naptimes for Lucas and my weekly trips to the grocery store but I LOVE the weekend. Usually on Thursday night I am like a giddy school girl knowing that the next day is Friday. I like to call it Friday-eve. Our typical weekend includes a date night which is most likely spent at a resturant b/c I would rather talk to Russell about our week rather than sitting quietly in a movie theater plus, I love food. On Saturday we fly by the seat of our pants and just do whatever needs to be done and we love to go visit Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy.

I love those dimples, I have no idea what that weird white thing is on her shirt....a reflection?

Check out those thighs! We had a little photo session at Grandma Buckmisters on Sunday night.

You ask Maggie to smile and this is what you get, pose and all, everytime

My nephew Brayden put together a "quad" lego thing and Lucas wanted to take a ride on it...or at least try.

I'm still trying to figure out my camera with all of the different settings and what not so we had another photo session while Lucas was asleep.

Violet laying on her blanket=happy baby.

Here are some pics from the Elders Quorum Pinewood Derby. Russells car looked the coolest but it definately wasn't the fastest...sorry Russ.

Our friend Craig being the score keeper

They had yummy fresh popped popcorn, could you get any better?

The men folk.

Poor Russell's car wasn't winning so he glued a drill bit onto the top, it was hilarious, esp. cuz it still wasn't fast enough. What do you expect though when he put his car together in like 30min on Sat. afternoon?

The women folk. We were great cheerleaders...ya right, we just gabbed the whole time.
I'm so excited that we are in the "ber" months now. Hopefully it will cool off soon and we'll see what other fun things we can do on the weekends!
