Amoxicillin Part II

We have had our share of sickness in this house over the past few weeks. About 3 weeks or so ago, ALL the boys (Wade included) were on antibiotics at the exact same time. Wade had bronchitis and a sinus infection, Carson had an ear infection, and Callahan had "sinusitis" for toddlers. We had been off antibiotics for about a week when Tuesday night, Callahan started vomitting all night long....with diarrhea. He seemed better by Thursday evening, but was still exhausted and pretty fussy. That's when Carson came down with a fever of 101.4 and completely wiped out on the couch at 6:00 p.m. which is totally not like him to sack out at that time of night. He also came down with a fever on Sunday...so with these two fevers spread out like that, I made him a doctor's appt. thinking that he still had an ear infection. We went ahead and made Cal one too, just to make sure he didn't have anything other than a virus. So at 8:00 Thursday night, we lugged both boys to the doctor and low and behold....they BOTH tested positive for strep!! The dr. said that Callahan probably had a stomach bug first and then caught strep from Carson on top of it. Well, we came to find out that she was totally right because all night Thursday night, Wade was up with the stomach bug! He stayed in bed all day yesterday completely wiped out and still a little nauseas. Poor guy! Everyone today seems better, in fact, the boys are up playing like normal and Wade headed out to try and get some work done. So we are on round 2 of antibiotics and I am praying that the sickos be run out of this house and that mama doesn't get sick!!

This is a picture of Carson yesterday when he was feeling much better obviously...he dressed himself - what do ya think?

My Blog Lift!

Isn't this awesome? I got a much needed blog makeover from one of my best friends, Traci. She is fabulous at what she does! I had been putting it off for a while (sorry Traci!), and finally gave Traci the okay to pimp my blog. She did a fantastic job and I am so proud of my new look!!

Traci and I met at Harding. She was an R.A. and I was a freshman on her wing in the dorm. It was a dorm for upperclassmen and my roommate, me, and suite-mates got put in that dorm because they ran out of room in the freshman dorms. It was a blessing from God being put in that dorm, because Traci and I became instant friends and she is so dear to me. I had the time of my life living in Pattie Cobb that year with her. I have life long memories from that year that we still bring up and laugh about like it happened yesterday. We were in each other's weddings (see pic below) and I love her so much. I only wish that I was as good as a friend to her as she is to me. I am tickled RED that she and her husband and kiddos are living just a short drive up the interstate now.

She is a remarkable mother as well, as she has 2 beautiful children...Kylie and Riley. Riley is 5 now and has a diagnosis of Autism. He is absolutely precious and is doing remarkably well all because he has Traci for a mom. She is truly talented and if you haven't checked out her web-site, you must! There is a link on the side column of my blog - her business is called sweetcheekydesigns.com Please go see her work and consider letting her make you over. You won't regret it - I only wish I would've done it a long time ago! I love it Trace! Thank you!!

I Seriously Don't Even Know How To Title This

Do you remember this cute "spikey" hair?

Well, let's just say that these next few pictures should be a story about my 2 year old. Sadly, I regret to inform you that they are not. Indeed they are my 6 year old. Just see for yourself...

and this...

there's more...

no, we're still not done...

are you feeling my pain yet? Try this one...

Lovely, I know. It goes like this. Carson was making a valentine's day card in his bedroom while I was cooking dinner, holding Callahan, and talking on the phone. Wade was in the shower. I honestly thought that we bypassed that phase in childhood when all kids cut their bangs. I thought that Carson just breezed on through that part of development and Cal would probably be the one we'd have to watch for that. Oh, if we were only that lucky. UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carson has talked about wanting to be "bald" for a few months now. All of the male adults in his family (other than Wade) are bald (Pappy, Papa, Uncle Greg, and Uncle Matt). So he has been asking to cut his hair bald. So I guess since we wouldn't let him, he just thought he would take matters into his own hands. How nice. This is what we did to try and "fix" the hack job...

So he will be wearing a hat at any and ever opportunity possible until it grows. I'm sure that one day I will look back on this day and laugh, but right now all I can do is gasp in horror! Should be a fun few weeks to see the looks on strangers faces when they see my child's head. Wonderful.

Other January Moments

Here are some moments in January from around here. First up, Carson got a little crazy one evening and put about 25 plastic balls in his pajamas. I have no idea where he got the idea, but he was really proud that he could do that AND still zip up his pj's.

Callahan got into my make-up bag one Saturday afternoon...we caught him proudly applying it all over his face. He just looks a little too proud. Needless to say, the make-up IS up now!

Carson received this certificate from school the other day for perfect attendance all year. He was so proud and we were too. He really loves school and has had such a blessed first year!

Carson at his basketball game a couple of weeks ago, I think that he looks like a 16 year old in these next 2 pictures. Sigh.

Our family after church a couple of weeks ago. The boys were dressed up and in pretty good moods after we got home, so I had to take advantage.

Carson's 100th Day

Today, Carson's class had a celebration for their 100th day of kindergarten. Yesterday he told me:

Carson: "mommy, do you know what tomorrow is? It's our 100th day of kindergarten!"
me: "wow, it is!"
Carson: "yeah, and we are going to have a celebration for our 100th day!"
me: "oh really, what are you going to do?"
Carson: (with long pause)......."Celebrate!"

duh me! So here is a picture of him with his party gear on that they made at school today and his fake camera smile.
