The Saga of Kittens Continues

I ran over one of the kittens this morning! I think that I feel worse than the kids do. I felt something when I back up and when I got out the cat was twitching on the ground and then it stopped. I only had Sage with me, she went and looked and pronounced it dead. I called Jon and he said that he would get someone to move it out of the driveway-my hero. I feel so bad it was Reese's cat and Jon's favorite. There is a twist, I adopted one Momma cat and four kittens from a lady in town whose house they had adopted. I hate to say it but I've already got replacements. I did this at 8am when I was taking Reese and Sage to Lubbock to the doctor. This was not a good way to start. The rest of the day went about as well. We were gone for 9 hours and still don't have Reagan's glasses. They said 3 more days which they have said 3 times. I guess it's my day to complain. Sorry!

Ashley's Old is Sage's New

Sage turned 16 in June and was rewarded with Ashley's old Yukon. It is a 1992 with 164 and something thousand miles on it. The perfect vehicle for a new driver. Sage has been practicing all summer and is a pretty good driver. Ashley was sad and happy to see the Yukon move on but stay in the family. We are happy because we know where it has been and we had it worked on before we gave it to her. I, of course, had to take pictures of her driving away in it for the first time, camera maniac that I am.

Ringworm

The cute little kittens have ringworm. I chased all 5 kittens down this afternoon, loaded them into their carrier and took them to the vet. They looked reproachfully at me all the way there and meowed. They vet took one look at Sooty and said ringworm. He gave each of them half of a pill and said they needed another in ten days. He also sent two more pills for the parents. I gave them their medicine in a wienie. At least they got something out of it. They kittens were much better on the way home and all took a nap. They are still banished to the garage until the next dose in 10 days. I kind of miss them playing around the house. The couch won't miss them. Before they come back in I have to get a scratch board for them. I guess I need to take the mother and get her fixed but right now I think she's pregnant again. Imagine that! Anybody need a kitten?

Cute kittens

Our kittens are so cute but they have some kind of disease. They are losing hair in spots and have been banished to the garage until they have seen the vet on Friday.

Reese is away

Reese went to Youth Camp on Monday morning and we have not heard from him since. I'm assuming that no news is good news. I figured he would call at least once to check in but NO! I called one of the other mothers and she hadn't heard from her son either and he was supposed to call every night. I'm sure the two of them won't get in any trouble, them being teenage boys and all. I didn't get a picture of Reese leaving because he left before I got out of bed. He did come in, wake me up and say good-bye. AWE! He took more stuff than his sister. I gave him such a hard time about that. He finally cut down and he still had more stuff. He'll be back on Friday and the fighting with Reagan can begin again. She's having a great time having me to herself. We have hung out, played and gone to the pool. Tomorrow she is going to stay with her cousins for the night and give us some time alone, although she tried to get me to come spend the night too.

Reagan's Birthday

Reagan had a birthday Thursday. She is now 10. How is that possible? We had a swimming party, with cake and snacks on Saturday. Guess what I forgot? The candles!!! I got everything else (the cake) and extras but not the candles. She got lots of presents and had fun swimming with her friends. We say Happy Birthday anyway, it didn't seem to bother her to much. After the party we went back to Nana's for fajitas and good company. All in all it was a great, if stessful (for me anyway) day. I don't think that we have stopped moving all summer but at least we found things to do. I don't get bored very easily but the kids do.

Kittens

The kittens LOVE Reese. I put my kitten in bed with Reese the other night just to give him a hard time and it decided to stay. I came in later and asked Reese where Sooty was and he said that he didn't know, about that time I saw a black spot above his head. Sooty was sleeping above Reese's head on his pillow. I made Reese very unhappy when I turned on the light to get a picture. I put Reagan's kitten in with the other kitten because she was afraid she would squash it and it just climbed in a cubby on the bed and went to sleep. The next day Reese said he woke them up in the middle of the night when he sneezed. They wouldn't go to sleep after that they started playing. We have put two of the kittens in the house to see how they do. Two of the kittens are being given away and one will live outside with the big cats. I'm sure we will have kittens again very soon.

VBS

Vacation Bible School began today. Reagan loved it. I helped with the 5th and 6th graders and Reese helped with refreshments and recreation. The kids had bible story, crafts, music and recreation (snacks). Each stop was about 20 minutes. We are doing it in the evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm so we could get more help and more kids. This is the most kids we've ever had (I'm not sure how many). The only problem with this time is feeding the family. We had something before we left, something while we were there and then something when we got home. I don't think my waistline is going to like that to much. Reese was glad when the 5th and 6th graders came in because he had the 3 through 5 years olds. There were 24 of them and they all needed help. The kids had to make flip flips out of nutter butters, fruit roll ups and m&m's. He got to help all of those little hands. Then they got to eat them.

Same ole summer

It's the same ole summer. The kids came home from their Momma's on Monday and it's back to running crazy. We went to Lubbock and saw Wall-e on Tuesday and then did some shopping. If you haven't seen this movie go directly to the theater and see it. It's about the cutes movie I have ever seen. Jon and I went on a date Sunday and saw it. I liked it so much that I took the kids back on Tuesday. Of course they were mad that we saw it without them. They loved it however. Afterwards we went to Sally's, Game Stop, Hobby Lobby, Home Depot and Wal-Mart. I didn't think that we would ever finish. We didn't get home until 8:45pm. We got alot done. Today we went to the pool and Reagan took a friend who is spening the night. They are working on the crafts, decorative journals and pens, that Reagan learned at GA camp. They are so cute. They are of course being tortured by Reese and vice versa.
