Reagan and I bought a couple of small pumpkins for our porch. We carved one of them last night but as soon as it was left alone the dogs moved it. It looks like a happy jack-o-lantern. I haven't carved pumpkins in probably 2o years but Reagan did most of the work. It turned out great. Maddy is spending the night with us on Halloween so they are planning to paint the other pumpkin before we go trick or treating. Everybody should look out, double trouble will be on the loose.

The continued saga of an ever changing family. We are a husband, wife, 3 daughters, 2 sons, Felix and Lucky. You never know what will happen next.

Open for a Moment
I finally got a picture of Ridge's eyes open. He likes his bouncer, sometimes for short periods and sometimes for long periods. He started out looking at himself, there's a mirror on the back of the elephant and the zebra hanging in front of him. After a few short minutes though he decided that the bouncer was not where he wanted to be at the moment. He went from an interested face to a very unhappy face. Ridge doesn't usually cry or scream very much but he decided to try out his lungs for a minute.

The Farmer's Daughter
Reagan was interested in riding on the cotton stripper so today I took her to the farm. The only problem was that Jon was running the boll buggy instead of the cotton stripper...so she rode on that instead. She thought the whole thing was "awesome". Poor Ridge had to stay in the car with Mom.

Pumpkin Carving
Last night we (me, Reagan, Jenny's crew and Ashley's crew) went to the pumpkin walk. I guess I should put punkin walk. Jon's always correcting the way I say it. Apparantly I don't sound like I'm from Texas enough. Anyway, it was packed and the parking was hard to find but it was worth it. We had a great time looking at all of the neat ideas people had to carve into their punkins.

Ready for Halloween
Reagan loved Sage as a nun so she decided that she needed to be a nun for Halloween. We already had the wimple but Nana made her the black gown to go with it and provided the cross. She looks so great and would wear it around everywhere if she could.

Nunlike
Sage had to dress up like a nun for an English project. These are the pictures that she had to take for the class. We ended up just turning a long black coat that was grandmother's and put her arms in it backwards. Nana had the wimple because Ashley was a Nun for Halloween in high school. We are now saving this for Reagan to wear for Halloween in a couple of weeks. Lucky is in the picture because of the English project.
Trying Something New
Yesterday I decided that even though Ridge wasn't leaving the house he needed to wear a new outfit. He's been wearing the same newborn outfits for the last month. I put him in a 2 piece but the pants are a little long and he looked a little like Irkle (I'm not sure how that is spelled), remember him from the tv show in the 90's. Anyway I put his new clothes on and put him in the swing with the barn babies swinging in front of him. He thought they were fascinating for awhile but then decided he would rather not sit in the swing. He thought that screaming was a much better idea.

Homemade Quilts
Ridge got a homemade quilt from a lady at our church. She asked us to take a picture for her wall of quilt babies. Whenever she makes a quilt she puts a picture of the baby with the quilt she made on her wall. I think that sounds like a great tradition. This is the way that he loves to sleep. It's like he's thrown his arms up and surrendered to sleep.

Catch Up
It's been such a busy week especially for someone that doesn't leave the house very much. I've stayed close to home for the most part except for errands and the grocery store. Jon and I took Ridge to the doctor this afternoon and he received a great report. He's gained almost 2 pounds and weighs in at 7 lbs and 2 ozs. He's also 20 inches long now. He's doing great and is eating as much as he is allowed every 3 to 4 hours. When we were on the way home we picked up Reagan from school and took her to the drugstore for a coke. We even took Ridge and showed him off for a few minutes. Tonight was the senior supper before the football game and Sage and I had to work at the supper. It went really well and we made some money for the senior trip. Jon and Reagan went to the football game. Jon loves his football and Reagan likes to play with her friends. Sage and Aaron were going to awhile but I doubt they stayed for the whole thing. Sage has to get up and take the SAT in the morning. Although she has already been accepted to West Texas A&M University. We got the letter this week and she is so excited. She is already planning our trip to go see the campus officially and sign up for orientation. We're looking forward to it.

Technology
Sage and Aaron chat on the webcam sometimes and I thought that we needed a picture. If you look really closely in the background Aaron is waving at me taking a picture. We chatted with Reese also on the webcam and he got to see Ridge for the first time, at least the first time not in a picture. We all crowded around the computer to talk to him but the sound wasn't very good. We spent a lot of time saying "What" and "Huh". Oh well it's better than nothing.
Poor, Poor Pitiful Me
Reagan came home yesterday sneezing and asking for a new nose. She looked a little like rudoph with her red nose. She wrapped up the green blanket and said that she was a green marshmellow. She was kind of goofy from sneezing all day and proceeded to walk around with kleenex box under her arm. She had to stay home from school today because of a slight fever but seems to be feeling better.

Are you ready for some football?
Jon is starting him out young. I think that Ridge is soaking up the football atmosphere while he sleeps. He laid in Jon's arms through the whole second half of the Cowboy's game. They look pretty happy where they're at.
At It Again
Reagan's friend, Madison, came home with her after school Friday. Jon took Reagan, Madison and Sage to the football game. The next day they got to hang around the house and play. Maddy thought that she should sit on the laundry basket but fell. She then had to come in the living room and recreate the drama for me. These two are hilarious.

Daddy Time
Jon came home for lunch today and got in a little time with Ridge. They could have stayed like that all afternoon but unfortunately work must be done. Ridge will have to settle for me and the laundry this afternoon.

Bath Time
I gave Ridge his bath by myself for the first time today. We may be scarred for life. This was also the first time for him to take a bath in the tub. I've decided that I think we should wait just a little longer or at least until someone else is around to help me do it the first time. After a few minutes of trying to hold his head up and wash him at the same time I decided he could have another sponge bath. That worked out much better and he ate really well when we were done. I them swaddled him up in a really soft blanket and put him in his pack-n-play. I'm really loving that thing. He can hang out with me in the living room and stayed swaddled up in the little bed part. He doesn't look to freaked out from his bath experience. It only took him a minute to fall asleep. I think that I'd like to be a baby for awhile.
