Field trips

Yesterday Reagan and I went on a field trip with her class. We started out the day at the Texas Tech Museum planetarium for an awesome laser show and then moved on to Mrs. Bairds to learn about bread. They gave us a great tour of the whole plant and then let us browse in shop. We went to the corn maze last. We ate lunch and then started through the maze. When they were done they shot the corn cannon and looked at the animals. I drug Reagan back through Lubbock to go to Target when we were done and then we headed home.

New Pets

We lost another pet. Guinea got run over yesterday. We have decided that Reagan needs a pet that can't get run over. This evening we bought 2 tropical neon fish, one orange and one green. Sage just got rid of her fish so we already had a tank and filters. We're thinking that we won't get as attached to the fish as we do to the dogs. I am also planning to go to Nana's and get my kittens back. They have been living there because Guinea thought they were chew toys and I was afraid that he would play with them until they were dead.

The Girls

I just wanted to put some pictures of the girls because I've had so many of Ridge. Reagan's acting like a goof. This was a picture of her one day when she came home from school not feeling well. She wrapped up in a blanket and worked on her puzzle but laid in the floor drama style when I went to take a picture. Sage of course just looks beautiful but I can't tell what's she's getting all snazzy for.

Memories of Maw Maw Neva

My grandmother, Maw Maw Neva passed away several years ago but one thing that I remember is playing in her rocking chair. I loved that rocking chair and when she passed I asked if I could have it and so it came to live at my house, ugly flowered cushions and all. When we found out that we were expecting my Mom and I decided that it needed to be redone. My Mom sanded it down and revarnished it and then we had new cushions made. Some of it was hand stitched by a nice woman in Lubbock. If you notice the stripes match up from the top to the bottom of the ruffle. The look great and I think I did a good job picking out the 3 different types of material. Since the baby was early the chair was not ready until a couple of weeks ago and I think that it has made a nice addition to the nursery but it makes me miss my grandmother.

Shutters

I finally bought shutters for the house last week and Jon and Cathy put them up yesterday. They look so awesome. Thank you both. I can't believe how much of a difference black shutters make against the color of the house.

Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State

Texas Tech is playing Oklahoma State University this evening so I decided he needed to support his team. He looks so cute in his outfit and he's just looking around. He is definitely awake and his lungs work.

Silky

Reagan made Ridge a blanket and now he's decided that the silk side feels pretty good. That's it in front of his face. He looks pretty content to hang out in his pack n play.

My Little Chunk

Ridge had his 2 month well baby check yesterday. On top of several shots that he really didn't like getting he was weighed and measured. He topped out at 11 lbs and 5 ozs and 23 inches long. I knew that he was big but I never would have guessed over 11 lbs. He definitely takes after me in the eating department. We never saw a meal we didn't like and we eat really fast.

Birthday Parties

We went to Catherine and Meredith's birthday party Sunday at Clay Cafe. I had never been there before but it was really awesome. Reagan painted a bear and Ridge got to see his the people.

He Escaped

Ridge has figured out that in the 0-3m clothes that he is small enough to get a foot out. We'll get him all tucked in and then in the middle of the night there's a foot sticking out. I guess he's trying to tell me that he's hot.

Don't Clown Around

"Don't clown around put your nose in a book". This is what Reagan got at school today to keep her interested in reading. I don't think that she needed a nose to keep her interested in books but it's nice thought. She got a kick out of her nose and Kayson thought it was pretty funny. Sage is babysitting a little boy after school named Kayson and he wanted to know why Sage didn't get a nose. He's in kindergarden and he got one. She told him "I'm big so I don't need a big red nose."

Happy Halloween

We headed out for Halloween before dark last night. I didn't realize that so many people go early but then I haven't trick or treated in many years. We stopped at Maddy's church for some games and snacks before moving on to the streets. Ridge didn't wake up for most of the adventure, not until he was hungry. My friend Kerry took the girls around to the houses while Ridge and I went to Lacy's Halloween party. After it got dark the girls and Lacy and Kerry's kids decided to scare the trick or treaters. One of them would lay down in the middle of the driveway and someone would lean over them crying, acting like they had fallen off of the carport. Several people did not stop at Lacy's house. The boys had a coffin outside in the door and would jump out when someone came by and then they climbed on the roof and howled at the moon. They had a lot of fun. Ridge was so great, after he ate he just looked around and let everyone hold him. We'll hold our breath about germs.
