Ramsey's Down on the Farm

Ridge is still fascinated with the outdoors and wants to go out with everyone. Once he gets out there he goes and goes and goes...He's been wearing his soft leather shoes but stickers will go through them so he'll have to start wearing harder soled shoes from now on.

Reagan finally got Ridge to wear his new boots. Apparently all he needed was socks. I guess he didn't like the feel of the boots on his feet. We took him outside last night and let him run around in his boots. It looked like walking was a little strange for a few minutes probably because he's used to those soft little shoes that he can feel everything through. The boots are very thick and he can't feel the ground. When we got back inside he wanted them off but I think we're on our way to being a kid that will wear shoes. He's growing up so fast.

He wants outside and he wants to go up and down the step. He has decided dirt tastes good and grass is fun to throw. Everytime someone opens the door he starts crying because he remembers there's an outside and he wants to go there. We haven't really had a cold day so we've gone out and played. Today will be the last until the weekend.

Ridge has hit the climbing stage. You thinks that he wants to clinb into your lap but he just wants to get to the table or the back of the couch. He wants up or he wants back down. When we're out in public he wants to go explore on his own two feet. I wonder if this means he's going to be very independent or if he's just a 16 month old.

I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT. I know it's silly to buy a huge giraffe and elephant but they were so cute I couldn't resist. Reagan loves hers but Ridge was not so sure about his at first. He will sit on it if you stay right there with him and keep your hand on him. If you don't he's getting off. Reagan wants me to buy the rest of the jungle animals but I think that these two will do for us. They had a panda, a lion and a giant brown bear. Sage has a giant bear that she got when she was a baby so I think that we're good to go.

Sometimes he looks like me and sometimes he looks JUST LIKE REAGAN.

We're trying to teach him to blow kisses but this is as far as we've gotten. He'll make the face and sometimes he'll make some type of hand gesture but he hasn't put them together yet. In the course of this he's decided that he needs to make the Oh face everytime something interesting happens. He even makes the sound.

Ridge apparently thinks that he requires a halo. If you'll notice it's a little crooked sometimes which is very appropriate. He also likes to chew on it and whack the table with it. The halo is actually a pool toy, those rings that you throw in and then dive after. It was too cute.

Ridge got John Deere boots for Christmas and he hasn't quite figured out what they're for. He likes to whack them together and chew on the edges but if you put them on his feets he pulls them off as fast as he can. If you try to stand him up he holds his feets off the ground and refuses to stand. It's really funny to watch but I want to see him weat the boots and that is not not happening right now. Right now Jon is just trying to get him to say boots. Whenever he has them in his hands or he's watching Jon take his on or off Jon will say boots and just look at Ridge. So far....nothing.
