School Projects

When I picked Reagan up from school on Wednesday she said that she had to build a levee for science class. I am no help in this area so first we called Nana and then we went to Hobby Lobby. After school on Thursday Makenzie came over and they got it knocked out. They got some ideas from Nana and used some of their own, did some giggling, got a few burns and ultimately did a good job and it looks great!

Black Ops

Reagan is mesmerized by "Call of Duty". She has been spending a lot of time killing zombies and fighting in war zones. She got me to play a couple of times and I could quickly become as addicted as she is but Ridge might have a problem with that. Jon and Reagan might find that they don't like it much either. I'd never get anything done. We can hear Reagan yelling at the t.v. from her room and Ridge keeps going over there and knocking on the door. I think he's wondering what's going on in there. When she lets him in there he tries to pull the cords out of the wall.

MIAMI

We went to Miami last weekend and it was AWESOME! We stayed in Coconut Grove on Biscayne Bay. There was a little shopping area down the street called Coco Walk that was cool and the bay was across the street so you could see the boats in the marina. We took a cab to Key Biscayne and played in the at the beach for awhile. Then we headed to the game: Duke vs. Miami. Of course, we(meaning Duke) won. I was sitting next to a nice man who is a retired CPA from Maryland with season tickets. Maybe next year I should take my Mom...wait she might love it and want to move to Miami and then who would take turns with Nana and watch Ridge. I'm just joking Mom. Anyway, Miami really was beautiful and if I get the chance I would like to go back and see more of it. I've heard that it's really humid in the summer but it was 70 and slightly breezy in February. Sounds like a good time to go.

Look At That Face

Poor Reagan. She had 50 math problems to do after she got home from an away basketball game. She had to be at school at 6:30 the next morning and still had to do her Texas History. This was the face she was making trying to get her homework done and she was so tired she kept laying her head down. The botton picture is just a beautiful picture on a day when she didn't have a care in the world.

Checking Things Out

Ridge is in everything, literally IN everything. I remember when I could leave him somewhere and he would be in the same place when I came back, mostly because he couldn't move. Now I just hope the house is in the same condition when I come back in the room. We are all definitely more aware of where we set things down and if we aren't we wish we had been when he's done. I think that it's funny that first took the basket dumped everything out and climbed up on the table but we have been very consistent about not letting him up on the table. Now he dumps the bastet out and climbs in the basket or sits on the basket. Sometimes he climbs on the basket to get on the couch to get in the cubbie in the couch. It's very interesting to watch.

Lollipops keep him Still

He may need a bath when he is finished by he is still while he is getting his hair cut.

Mr. Bear

Ridge has formed an attachment to Mr. Bear and this very soft blue and white blanket. He will not lay down for his nap or to go to bed unless he already has them. You can't go get them and bring them back; they have to already be there. Sometimes when you go to get him out of the bed he hands you Mr. Bear and then he hands you the blanket and then he holds his hands up. Since his cousin in Virginia sent him the bear I hope we don't lose it because I'm not sure where we'd get another one. He goes to Parent's Day Out in Lubbock on Tuesday and we have to take Mr. Bear with us and it's very important that we remember. The last two weeks I forgot to take Mr. Bear in (he was in the car) and I've never taken the blanket. He did not nap the last two weeks. He's quiet in the bed but he won't go to sleep. This week I took the blanket and Mr. Bear and he FINALLY napped. They were happy and he was happy.

Brrrrrr

The cold outside has not stopped Ridge from wanting to go outside so we decided to out for a few minutes yesterday. He was very bundled up except for his hands because I can't find his gloves anywhere. Guess what's on my list for Target tomorrow? He liked it so much that he cried when we decided that we too cold and had to come in. Reagan walked him around until he decided that snow was not going to make him trip.
Reagan even cleared him a path in the yard so he could walk in the grass without falling down. There's wasn't much on the gravel and he was fine. Ether way occasionally he goes to the front door and tries to turn the knob but he can't quite get it yet. We're all happy about that.

Exploration

Ridge is exploring the yard with Daddy. We had so many 70 degree days that we couldn't keep him contained. We even went to Lubbock and took him to the park for the first time. I don't have those pictures on my computer yet. He has now been down a slide and loves it. I see one in his near future. I'm putting these pictures up while it is below zero outside and there's snow on the ground. Ridge doesn't understand why he can't go outside and occasionally stands by the fronts door and cries. I'm sure it will be in the 70's fairly soon and we'll be back in the yard. He holds his hand up when he steps off the sidewalk, steps on the sidewalk, steps into the little ditches in yard that have trees and back out the other side but then he lets go and continues running.
