In Everything

Ridge is in EVERYTHING. I know that everyone who has ever had toddlers knows what I am talking about. He touches everything, tastes everything, opens anything, climbs on anything......Reagan babysat for a little while the other day and he managed to get in the bathtub and turn the shower on. She heard him going "huh, huh, huh" and found him sitting under the warm water. He's never gotten in the bathtub by himself before. They were both a little shocked. The really funny thing is for the most part he puts his toys up when I ask him to and closes the cabinet doors...when I ask him to. He just goes back around later and pulls it all back out again. I think I clean the kitchen at least 4 times a day. There's a saying "A mother is up from son up until son down." They know what they were talking about.

Seabiscuit's Entourage

Reagan takes a lot of people with her whenever she goes anywhere. You'll remember that we call her Seabiscuit because she runs better when she has competition. Ridge didn't get to stay long because the wind was blowing 4o miles an hour and the meet was going to last a very long time. He did have fun playing with everyone while he was there and chasing things around. We did have to keep him out of the big sandbox and off the track. Jon and Papaw had a good time watching Reagan win races and enjoy herself. I enjoyed watching her too but it was very windy and very cold once the sun went down. I did not dress appropriately but lucked out on having Ridge's blankets in the car. Reagan got one and I got one. I sat in the car in between races.

Falling in Love....with Track and Field

Reagan says that she is falling in love with track. She got first place in the 400m, the 800m, the mile relay, and the long jump. The only event she didn't place in was the high jump and she had only high jumped one time before the meet. I can see why she's falling in love with it. SHE IS AWESOME AT IT. She is really fun to watch but by the end of the night she looks like she's about to fall over. The meet last week was only 20 minutes away but the next meet is over an hour away so that may kick our butts a little more. She's working with Ashley to learn more and trying to fight the shin splints that she's never had before. I guess this is the price of being great and loving what you do. I have no running ability whatsoever but man she sure is something to watch. Random strangers were commenting on her, not to me but within my hearing and to her coach.

Tab

When I opened my door on Monday morning there was a surprise waiting there for me....a puppy. Reagan and I love dogs but she doesn't have very good luck with them. The last 4 she has had have died, three were run over and one had parvo. Jon and I decided that we were done watching her cry and weren't getting any more dogs. You should have seen Reagan's face when she came home and saw the puppy. She was like that's it he's staying. We have gotten rid of several large dogs that have wondered up but this is a small puppy and we are letting it stay on kind of a trial period. It doesn't drive us crazy, dig up my flowers, hurt Ridge and it LIVES and it can stay. The third day it disappeared for most of the day and I thought it was gone for good but it popped back up. The only problem we've had is that it jumps on Ridge. Ridge seemed to like him at first but now he's kind of scared of him. I have a baby gate that I've been putting the puppy in when we're outside and working diligently with the puppy to keep him from nipping at Ridge. We're waiting until spring break to take the puppy, who we've named Tab, to the vet, and see what mix he might be and how old he is. Maybe he'll live. Lucky is a little jealous but he'll be o.k.
