Gone Fishin' on Memorial Day

We decided to go up to Smith & Morehouse on Monday and do some fishing...well, everyone had the same idea! It was pretty busy but fun anyway...even though Randy was the only one to catch anything the entire time we were there! And it was a little tiny fish, at that. So after a few hours of fishing, getting rained on and the kids having fun in the mud, we decided to go to Rockport Reservoir instead and see if we'd have better luck there. It tricked us! On Randy's very first cast he got a fish! Nice! Then just a few minutes later Riley's rod started bouncing and he had one on too! This is better!...I thought. Wrong. Nothing else the rest of the time. We stayed a little while more but once it not only rained, but poured and then turned into hail on us, we decided to go. It was a nice ride home with Reagan singing and Riley sleeping. We went to my Mom's after that to spend the rest of the day with some of my family. It was a fun day. Oh and on Sunday Randy's family met at Randy's brother's grave and then we all went to our house to have a BBQ. Poor Randy ended up barbecuing in the rain! Maybe we need to start building a covered deck ASAP, huh? It was a nice weekend spent with family.

This is at Smith & Morehouse

Now at Rockport!

What a Few Accessories Can Do!

BEFORE Reagan's Princess kit...

AFTER!!
Hahaha. This was the cutest thing ever. My aunt came over to get her hair done and brought Riley this cool Kung Fu Panda toy and Reagan this Back pack Princess kit with shoes, a tiarr, earrings, a necklace, a boa, a wand and a ring! She loves it!

We Have GRASS!!!!!

SO exciting, huh!? We got all of the curbing done on Wednesday and then on Thursday our sod was delivered and that evening some neighbors, friends and family came over to help Randy lay it all. Thanks to all of you! We love you and are SO thankful for you services! With their help it only ended up taking about 3 or 4 hours, which I didn't think was too bad for doing the front and back yard! The kids are way excited to be able to play on it soon and get a swing set and the tramp on it. Now just the fence, cement, and landscaping are left to do...eventually. At the moment I'm completely content with just the grass. It looks great! I'll take some pictures in the day too so you can see it a little better.

Frenemies.

If you haven't heard that phrase before: Friends + Enemies = Frenemies...that is exactly what my kids are to eachother. They have a huge love/hate relationship going on, and it happens so fast! They can be happily sitting, eating Popsicles when all of the sudden one decides to just...

Give the other a good ol' shove in the back! Seriously.

Hard Workers!

Randy has worked SO hard to get our yard in. The kids loved going outside and "helping" him. One night he had a guy with a bobcat there to flatten out the yard and evenly lay the top soil. Randy would then go over it and rake the entire yard to ready it for the curbing and sod. That night I couldn't get the kids to stay out the dirt! I had given them baths and was ready to put them down for bed it was NOT happening, the bobcat was too loud and it was just way too exciting for them I guess. So they got to stay up and get dirty all over again. Oh well!

Is This Weird To Anyone Else?

I knew Reagan had gotten some lids out but would've never guessed she'd do this with them! What in the world? I don't really get it but had to share, it just seemed funny to me.

Kites and Puppies, Can't Get Much Better Than That!

Riley got this kite from Omi and he LOVES it! It's stood up to some beatings too, surprisingly. But he can get it up in the air all by himself and keep it up there forever! Yesterday he got so bored of holding it for so long that he got a big rock and laid it over the handle. Haha! We came out to see Riley playing with a little truck in the garage and the kite was still flying in the air...huh?

Our neighbors have 3 Yorkies and one of them had puppies 6 weeks ago. They are the cutest little things ever! Reagan can't get enough of them and loves to pet them. They roam around the front yard every once in a while and this was the funniest thing to see! Reagan was over there calling them over when all of a sudden they all come running over to her and it totally stressed her out. Ha! She acts like she likes dogs until they get too close for comfort, then she RUNS away. What a cutie. Here's a funny video of those adorable puppies and Reagan checking them out.

Riley and His Interesting Vocabulary

Nemember = Remember

Esterday = Yesterday

Purpably = Probably

Smarshmallows = Marshmallows

Blotion = Lotion

And my favorite, I have to explain. So, his preschool teacher's name is Miss LaDawn, funniest thing is that he says Missalon for Salon. Like he'll say, "Are you cutting hair in your Missalon today?" Or something like that. Funny.

What a Yard!

Kids are so easy to please. Riley and Reagan could play outside for hours even with the yard we have right now. They love to dig and jump from dirt hill to dirt hill or just throw rocks and run free! They ARE pretty lucky though. With one trip to the front yard they can go from DESERT:

To JUNGLE:

I bet you can't say the same for your yards. Grass is boring and over-rated, people. Haha.

They love it!

Finally, my Retail Rack!

I got a retail rack for my salon...finally! I've needed one for like 10 months now and first, kept forgetting to find one, then when I did remember to look for one, I could never find one I liked! They were always way too big, or way too small or way too expensive or super cheap looking or had slotted shelves where my product would probably just fall through. Annoying! But alas, I finally found one that will work just fine. Now all I need is to seriously replenish my retail line! I have maybe 8 things to put on it right now. Haha! That would look pretty ridiculous so I just haven't even started filling it up until I first head to the beauty supply store. Yeah!

Silly Boy! Haha.

I don't know what it is but I swear every time we're at the store in the middle of shopping or about to check out Riley has to go potty. Seriously!? So today we went to the bathroom in the store and when Riley was done he said, "Mommy! I have 2 underwears on! That's silly!" I opened the door to his stall and just stared laughing! His face was SO funny and then to see the underwear on from last night and the new underwear I gave him to put on this morning on at the same time was just hilarious. He must've really wanted to get back to playing or something and just threw on the other pair this morning before taking off the first pair. What a silly kid, he just cracks me up sometimes. I thought it was so funny that later today when he went to the bathroom and realized it again i had to get a picture...or 2 or 3. Haha!

Poor thing.

For the last 2 nights Reagan has maybe slept a total of 6 hours all together...and it's killing me! I've been so tired because of it. (What am I going to do when I have a new baby in the house!?) Poor little thing just keeps tossing and turning and crying and I couldn't figure out why. Well, last night around 3:00 I asked her where her owie was and she pointed at her ear and said, "owie." I felt so bad. So this morning I took her to InstaCare to get them checked...what a nightmare. She is such a feisty little thing! Just when the nurse was trying to read her pulse with that little thing they put on your finger she was FREAKING out! The nurse did it to me and then Riley to show her that it didn't hurt, that didn't do the trick at all though. That was bad enough, you should of seen the poor doctor trying to check in her ears! Reagan is a tough little thing, I must say, it was a workout trying to hold her hands down while the doctor checked her ears and mouth! After all of the pinning her arms down and making her histarical, the doctor confirmed that she did have an ear infecton. Sad to say but I'm SO glad that there was something obviously wrong, and treatable, because she's been so ornery lately, not sleeping, not eating much...which if you know Reagan, that not eating alone is a big red light that something's wrong! I just hate when you know they're uncomfortable or sick and the doctor says that they're is nothing wrong. Hopefully this medicine kicks in soon so her and I can get back on a normal sleeping regiment and she stops walking around the house miserable and looking like this:
