Golfing!

Rooke took a two-week golf class this month!  He had six lessons, a set of clubs his size, a shirt and visor, and on the last lesson the families were invited to ride in a cart(!) to watch the players hit through a few holes, and then eat pizza together - I'm so glad he took the class.  My dad is a golfer, so he was a good encouragement for Rooke, and I was proud of Rooke for trying something new.

We girls had fun in our own cart!  I'll admit to being pretty excited about driving a golf cart for the first time. =)

Summer Fun

We've been making the most of our summer . . . here are just a few things we've been doing:

Saturday mornings are always special breakfasts for our family, but in the summer I find that the slower mornings mean we enjoy even more special breakfasts together.

Shaving cream on the trampoline!!

Rooke FINALLY lost his first tooth!  At 7 1/2 years-old, he has been waiting a long time for this event!  I was so excited for him!

We enjoyed a picnic evening with the Camerons, which included riding bikes down the hill in their condo parking lot . . . so much fun!

I love thunderstorms in the summer . . . the lightning on this particular evening was remarkable!  It went on like this for several minutes.
The heavens declare the glory of God!

Faces

I needed some full-face shots for a little project I'm doing.  I asked for one "good smile" and at least one funny.  All three had no problem coming up with the funny faces!

Oklahoma {part 2}

We spent the rest of our time in Oklahoma at Kevin and Deborah's house!  Our days were full of playing with G-Daddy and Grammy Deb, yummy treats, catching up with friends, special outings, and making the most of family time.

Rooke got to join Kevin for a half-day of work!  G-Daddy said he was a great helper. =)

This pretty girl wore her "headband hair" for almost two days straight!  Coupled with her new dress and prancing around in Grammy Deb's shoes, she was a happy princess!

Rooke attached himself to one of G-Daddy's hats.

G-Daddy had several trips to the spa and was a very patient client!

We didn't let the rain keep us from enjoying Food Truck Wednesday at Guthrie Green.

Grammy Deb and G-Daddy took the kids to the Bass Pro Shop for some afternoon fun and dinner on their special grandparent date.  Rooke caught another fish!

Another trip to Bass Pro when plans got rained out . . . all the cousins ready to roll!

I loved our visit to the Philbrook Museum of Art.  They had some great kid-friendly activities to do and the setting was beautiful.  After doing some watercolor drawing and painting, we enjoyed looking at some of the art inside with Uncle Joe.

The kids beat the heat with this slip-n-slide!

Rooke could have played on that thing for hours!  Kevin and Deborah were so kind to let the kids turn their backyard into a swamp!

We started out early one Saturday morning and went for a nature walk/hike through Red Bud Valley.  The trail was tricky at times, but it was fun watching the kids climb around and find their footing on the rocks.

It was fun to catch up with Jessica, a friend from middle school/high school days.

We also spent a few afternoons at the Cambells' house.  Besides catching up with Chris and Ashley, I loved watching the kids play together, and these two girls become friends!

We spent part of Father's Day at the Gilcrease Museum.  The girls enjoyed a little art project:

Aunt Kaydonna and Uncle Mark joined us for the afternoon!  Kaydonna always seems to know just what the kids will love and spoiled them with fun gifts.

One of our last outings was to the Air and Space Museum.  We got to watch a planetarium show about stars and at one point, when the show was simulating us traveling through space, Bridgette leaned over to me and asked, "How are we going to get home?" =)

We explored a nature center with G-Daddy

Uncle Joe and Uncle Sean helped see us off at the airport.

We gave goodbye hugs and kisses and boarded the plane, grateful for the time we got to spend with family and the memories we took home.

I really do enjoy traveling with these kids!  Our three-hour layover in Denver was pretty fun.
