Summer Lovin Havin a Blast

We are enjoying the warm weather. We get out as often as we can. Here the boys found a long worm, and they were enthralled as they watched it crawl in the crack on the sidewalk.

Jaxen always looks to Paxton to know what to do. There is a love and trust there that makes me so happy as a mother!

This is our most recent family photo. Behind us you see a train the boys love riding.

Hope everyone enjoyed Independence Day! We sure did! We went to the Dale City parade and then saw fireworks in Manasses.

Here we are playing in the front yard. Jaxen thinks that I must want to wrestle anytime I lay down!

Paxton is holding one of his sticks. We have a rather large collection of sticks under the tree in our front yard. They are used as walking sticks and swords. The boys are obsessed with pirates, so we take turns being Hook and fighting!

I have gotten many requests for pictures of our house. So here she is..

You get a glimpse of the front room, this is all I had time to take pictures of today. This piano we got for free; it was listed on Craigslist. We are really enjoying the beautiful pieces we can find out here. We bought a cabinet that we use as our pantry, and we also picked up a wardrobe. I will have to share pictures of both those pieces later because I just adore them!

This is part of our living room. The rug is sheepskin, and Jaxen likes to do what I call "rug angels." He runs in here daily and spreads out his arms and legs and wiggles! We love to read books in here, and this is the formal area where we have company. I am very grateful we have room downstairs too for a family room and a place to put the TV.

Well I stayed away for one year! It felt great! I don't know how often I will post but I would like to update everyone. We bought a house in September and we love it! We are getting settled in and really enjoy making it our own. Matt is always excited to come home and see what I have done. Best example was Nov. 1st when I started potty training Paxton (which has been very successful!). While sitting in the bathroom with him, I was going crazy looking at the glass sliding doors that  were attached to the bathtub. I tore them out. All the tracks and doors with their swans! I made it out to the curb in time for the garbage man too! Now the bathroom is painted and has a lovely shower curtain hanging down so I can stare at that instead.

Paxton turned 3 in August. We were in UT with family which was really nice. Paxton is excited to start school in January. He will be in preschool part time and I am excited too!

Jaxen is now 18 months old. He has been sick the last two weekends so I haven't experienced the freedom of dropping him off for nursery but I know he is ready for it. He is trying to talk more every day!

Last weekend we had family pictures taken. We had a great time out at a park and we are so grateful that the sun came out and it was rather warm. Here are a few of our favorites...

We have been very blessed! I am so grateful for Matt and his hard work to provide for us.

Master of Pumpkin Roll

Paxton is full of surprises! One day he was yelling, "Slide, slide...", and I found him using the changing pad to "slide" off of the couch. A couple days later I turned around to find him sitting like this, with the remote in his hand. We must be teaching him what is really important because he held that remote while climbing up both chairs!
Ever since Halloween Paxton's favorite treats are suckers! He begs for one daily.
My little baby is getting so big...
I made pumpkin roll for the first time for Thanksgiving. It turned out so well I had to take a picture (Matt is still laughing that I have a picture of food and that I am posting it). Growing up pumpkin roll was always my favorite fall dessert. Because it looked difficult to make and my mom makes it so well I had psyched myself out, until this year. Now we will eat pumpkin roll every year! Brace yourself Matt.
This picture was just too cute. We all love dressing the baby. Here Paxton was sharing his hat. These next pictures are for my mom. These are the decorations I made for Halloween.

This is the wreath that went up for November. Now I just need to make one for Christmas!

Cox Farms

We went to Cox Farms in October. Pax LOVED the cows. He also insisted on wearing one of my hats...

I decided to throw in a family picture to prove that we went as a family. This was taken in front of one of the giant slides that Matt and I got to take the boys on. We had a really good time, now they just need to come down in price so we can go more often :)

Warriors among us

Matt and Ryan participated in the Warrior Dash on Oct. 1
This is the before shot:

This is the after shot. After 3 miles out in the country with multiple obstacles and mud.
They washed off in the river and then wore their warrior hats proudly. Paxton was showing off his muscles with the WARRIORS.

Things were a little slow while we waited on the blanket for Daddy and Uncle RyRy so we took turns trying on my sun glasses.

We are so proud of our warriors.

Summer Wrap Up

Paxton turned 2 in August! He wasn't too sure about the candles in his cupcake so Daddy helped him out.Matt went to NY for a Yankees game and hit up Serendipity.
My boys! They are too cute. They love to sit in the recliner by each other.
Jaxen got his first goose egg.
Another one, just because it makes me laugh.

I went to NY in August with Kirstin while Matt watched the boys, isn't he the best?! I discovered Century 21 and took the Staten Island Ferry for the first time. We also saw Mary Poppins. It was such a blast!
