Our sweet friend Jessica took pictures of Kate this month and these are just a few of the results, without any editing done. It was cold but Kate still loved it.

February

February was a big month for Kate. She turned 8, had a visit from Grandma and grandpa Hardy, got baptized, got her ears pierced and just had a whole lot of fun this month. It was such a neat day. Kate was surrounded by friends and family that love her and she felt it and enjoyed the day soooo much. It was fun to watch her. Big thanks to everyone who loves her so much. She's wearing her cousin Jessica's(whom she adores) dress that she wore probably close to 15 yrs ago. That was extra special for her.

I didn't get many pictures but I was able to snap this before of our great friends the Wrights. It's an understatement to say Kate loves this family, they are simply the best. (Jane and Claire and another friend Whitney did all the music at Kate's request, and they did a great job).

Grandma and Grandpa's visit was just a few days but we enjoyed every minute. The kids had so much fun playing games. Jack was always pulling out checkers or Chutes and Ladders to play with Grandpa.

Birthday dinner

This is Lily's look when we say smile, she used to squint and tilt her head so we started telling her to open her eyes and so this is what we get now.

January

January for us brought warmer weather so what else would Jack do but let the bunnies out and lure them around with a carrot. Lily stayed safely on the deck, she is not really a fan of any animal running loose.

We also went to a Brian Regan show and laughed and laughed and laughed telling people about how we laughed. Doesn't he just look like he's funny? It was a great night!

Christmas Day

Santa did visit our house this year(We have proof, just keep reading). It was super fun to have G-ma and G-pa Liddell spend the night, it made it so much fun. Here's the morning picture on the stairs...

2 happy remote control drivers. The Strawberry shortcake car is surprisingly fast!
The doll Kate made for Lils, so cute.

And the proof....Kate set up the camera to catch Santa. We have a setting where the camera takes a picture when it detects a smile so she figured we could catch Santa at the tree as he turns around with his jolly grin. He was pretty quick on his feet when he saw the camera light up but this is what she caught.
And just for the record there is a fair amount of this happening these days. {Sigh} Isn't she cute?

Christmas Eve

We were lucky to have family at our house on Christmas Eve. Lonnie and Peter, Lonnie's parents and Mom and Dad. We sure missed everyone else. It was pretty quiet and we kept expecting more people to arrive. We still had some fun, there was the kid's gift exchange, adult white elephant, Christmas Story, and lots of yummy food.

Love all these women!
The kids before their gift exchange
Somebody scored!
Cute cousins
Enjoying their loot after Grandma's candy/story/game - it was fun!

Watching the parents open the silly ones

I didn't capture all the fun stuff but here's the beauty I found at the thrift store the day before. All the little girls really wanted it although it was kind of creepy. I think Peter ended up taking her home.
Look at how excited Peter is to get a tote bag filled with pieces to an unfinished quilt! (Ray ended up with that in the end!)

Dessert! It's almost Santa time!!!

And of course before getting snug in our beds we ended the night with new Christmas pj's

December fun

Just a few short months ago we were playing in the snow, making Christmas crafts, delivering goodies and dreaming of Santa. A Christmas season is never complete without building gingerbread houses. We had Rapunzel's tower, a race car and a barn covered and filled with gum-drops!

And this was the month of Batman, he made quite a few appearances. Just be sure not to call her Bat-woman because she won't stand for it, she is BATMAN !
Just a little of the snow-filled fun we had. Snowmen in the front yard and there was just enough in the back to build a slide off the deck.

And the best pose I could capture in front of that picked up at a lot around the corner pine-smelling beauty!

Going Private

So the day has finally come that I am making the ol' bloggity blog private. I really was going to quit blogging all together but my big sis kicked and screamed while telling me she can't go a day without seeing my kids so instead I will take the plunge and go private. I know I'll lose some readers but since there really aren't that many of you here with me anyways I think we will all survive. Okey dokey, so I guess I will make it private in a few days and I think I know who reads this but if you want to make sure you get an invite send me an email or comment and I'll be sure to include your email.
And next up, Christmas did visit our house this year and it's about time I get the pictures off our camera so that will be my next post in the land of private blogs. And then a few pics of Jack playing basketball, started coaching him last night and it was oh so fun! 5 year olds dribbling a basketball is a sight to see!
