I had an awsome weekend with Katie this last week. She got a discount on this fitness retreat that we heard of of an e-mail we got. It was so nice even though it was a little crazy working the kids around for that time that we were gone.
So we got there on thursday around 5:30. We took our stuff in and the got everyone going on a workout right away. They did a boot camp station run on us and what made it fun was challenging Katie to see how could get through it the fastest. It was pretty tough but I managed to catchup with Katie a little. During the exercising one of the lady's dislocated her shoulder. She had to sit there for a while with it out until her friend took her to the hospital. They ended up not coming back, so that was too bad.
After the workout we had a nice low fat dinner and stayed up talking for a while. Most of us decided to get into the hot tub before bed. The hot tub was only for four people and six of us were trying to squeeze in there. It was tight, but a fun night.
We woke up at 7:00 am for breakfast and got to another workout by 8:00. They showed us a nice in home routine that definetly works you good.
At 10:00am we started our 10 mile hike up a logging road. We did not bring enough water for the length of our trip and by the end I legs(especially my calves) were killing me. We had a nice nap after the long day and ened everything with a great dinner and a nutrition class.
The next morning, up by 7:00 we had a small breakfast and another workout. Right after the workout was a competion. There was several different parts to it. The first one was a push up contest, I did not win but I was happy that I got 25 with really good form. The second was an endurance run. We ran about 200 meters up and down as fast as possible. One of the other girls won that also, I am just not a fast runner. I can run endurance, but not fast. The third was standing on one foot on a log as long as possible. It was taking too long for everyone standing there so at 6 min. we had to close our eyes. I last 10 sec. at that point. I think I won too. The last won was a polar bear competition. We had to sit in the freezing cold river up to our belly buttons. We had to only stay for five minutes and then dunk under for as long as possible. I did not win that won either. I do not like cold water. At the end there was a tie, so we had a quiz on what they were teaching us through the weekend. I did not win this either but I did come in third place. There were three prizes so I made it in with just enough. I got a $25 gift certificate for personal training.
Oh, the company that put this on was Star Fitness. It is two really great ladies that live in star, they do in-home personal training. I don't know there prices but they seemed really wonderful.
