Schools Out for the Summer!

We had a glorious time at Milo's preschool graduation...even though he has another year before kindergarten. Darn October birthdays! :)

L-O-V-E these two silly buddies! They spend hours and hours together. We feel like Lev is one of our own. Two peas in a pod, these boys!

Girls Weekend!

What a lovely weekend I had in Moab with these beautiful and wonderful ladies! Let me sum up the weekend this way: Lots of hiking! Delicate Arch! Sink me my dear! Food! Girl talk! Window shopping! Mr. Darcy! Laughs! Relaxation! How blessed I am to know these women and to call them my friends. I love you all!

An Ode to Park

Every once in a while I get the sense that this boy doesn't get the attention he needs. He gets overshadowed by a younger brother who has special needs that take a lot of time and attention, and by other younger siblings that are at an age where they still need and demand a lot of attention. I see a lot of myself in him at that age. He feels things very deeply, is sensitive, and has a difficult time expressing himself when he is struggling in any way. For me, as a kid, it turned into a neglected feeling. I don't want that for him. So Park, this one is to you! He loves to perform for those he's comfortable around. He is incredibly smart, especially at math and spelling. He has the brain of an engineer. He can see the bigger picture and know just what to do to improve it. He just gets things so easily. He has his own sense of humor that is silly and fun, and sometimes very literal. He has a strong sense of fairness and what is right and wrong. He also has a stubborn streak and hates to be told what to do, especially by his older sister. ;) I think "stubborn" tends to have a negative connotation, but I don't mean that at all for him. He has a strong sense of what he wants and believes and sticks to it, no matter what. And that's a good thing. Always stick to your guns, Park! I love this kid! More than words can say. And I always will. No. Matter. What.

He can ride...and crash! All on Mother's Day Weekend

This kid learned how to ride a bike without training wheels on May 7. He was SO proud of himself! And then, on May 9 he had his first crash...poor kid bit through his lip. But, I'm happy to say, it hasn't stopped him from riding his bike!

And, miracle of miracles, I have a child who actually likes my cooking! That's one of the things I love about Milo, that he loves food and eats just about anything without complaint. What a handsome kid he is! But don't tell him I said that, he might yell at you! ;) Also, one of his funny quirks right now is that he constantly says, "right mom?" after EVERYTHING he says to me. Gotta love this bright, happy, funny, sensitive child.

Spring storms

One of the things I absolutely love is a good warm thunder shower. It's so refreshing and cleansing feeling. And I love to watch the awe and joy on my children's faces when they love them to. During this particular shower the was quite a bit of thunder. Ever would turn her head into me with her pretend voice and say, "Oh no! Giants!" These little moments are the ones I treasure.
