This is why I foster: Snowbelle, (formerly Bonnie, now Siggy), came to me after being attacked by a dog and had a large, open wound on one of her back legs. She limped and was malnourished.
She's been in her forever home for a week now and is being spoiled and loved by her new parents. Makes me smile :-)

UPDATE FROM PET HAVEN:
Comma (formerly known as Maime) came to Pet Haven after having 2 kittens on Easter Sunday at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue. As is often true, the kittens, two little black and white boys, have found homes and are doing well. Momma Comma has taken awhile to recover and continues to look for the best home for her.
She had probably not lived inside much, if at all, and has gotten used to house noises now and comes to see her foster mom and sit on her lap all on her own!
This girl is looking for a woman to love her in a quieter home - she wouldn’t mind having another cat friendly cat or dog to live with but will be fine as an only girl too - the more time for Comma to get love!

Red Lake Rosie's Rescue got a call from a lady in Rice Lake, a community on the White Earth Reservation that a female dog would need to be taken or would be shot. Our friends Bill, Teresa, and Cassie responded and brought CiCi to the RLRR shelter.
Karen then reached out to Jenny (Leech Lake Legacy, Program Director) about Cici. We suspected she was pregnant so we reached out to our amazing temp foster, Heidi, who immediately agreed to take Cici until she had her puppies.

I felt like a kid waiting for Santa to come on Christmas night! I was filled with excitement waiting for Cici, my first mother, to have her babies.
Cici is just one of the many precious reservation animals who made her way into our teams helping hands and open hearts. Cici is wonderful, a gentle soul and a sweet spirit. What a great girl she is, having her around is a treat.
Saturday, December 20th, around 2:00am she woke up and I knew it was time. Shortly before 8:00am a beautiful baby girl was born. Her name would be Gabriella, Gabby. I was overwhelmed with emotion. It was just magic; that's the first birth I've ever seen! More then excited I was just in awe. Well one hour goes by, two hours go by and no more babies. Long story short with the guidance and advice of Dr Vicki, Jean, and Julie, Cici was going to the vet. An x ray showed an empty uterous. Cici had a litter of ONE! Didn't see that one coming! However, relieved we went home to rest.
Cici is a mother in every sense of the word. She is caring, watchful, diligent. She loves that little girl, and I wonder if having just one increases her nurturing or if she is just naturally a great mother. It is my absolute pleasure to be apart of Cici, and of course Gabby's story.

UPDATE FROM ADOPTER: I just wanted to share a few pictures of sweet Lacy with you. She has decided that the Christmas tree skirt is quiet comfortable. I've noticed there's a correlation between me running the dishwasher and her lying under the tree. It must feel like a safe place!
A HUGE thank you to both Karen and Shelley, Indy (formerly Aretha) is such an integral part of our family, we are ever grateful to both of you for caring for her until she found her way home.
Here a few more photos of her... In our wedding, watching over our son sleeping shortly after he came home from the hospital, and just recently hanging out with Wyatt.
Wyatt thinks the sun rises and sets on Indy. Even if he's inconsolable and wants nothing to do with mom or dad, Indy can always bring a smile to his face.
Sora (formerly Crimson) came from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue and through Animal Ark to me.
She and I continue to improve as a K9 Nosework team. For various reasons, we did not trial this year, however we will probably attempt her 3rd clove ORT in January.
Sora turned 3 in August; she is huge, 105 lbs and as tall as a Newfoundland. Overall she is a sweet and biddable dog, who, with encouragement, is willing to try anything. She's completely bonded to her brother and sister, they're quite the furry family.
I saw on the Website you wanted updated pictures of some of the rescues. Here are 4 pictures of Scarlet. We love her here and she is a great addition to the family. She is so loving.
UPDATE FROM PUP RESCUE: Victoria, the little red dog, came to PUP dog rescue in St. Paul, MN, from Red Lake
Rosie's Rescue. She arrived with 2 newborn pups, but was grieving the loss of three stillborn pups. Within a day, she was pressed into service as a foster mom, when another dog at PUP, BethAnn, gave birth to 10 puppies and could not
cope. Victoria happily adopted 3 of BethAnn's puppies.
Victoria is a Shiba Doxie mix who is weaning 5 puppies. She is a highly athletic dog who easily jumps over a
baby gate and this week she demonstrated she can jump over a 4' fence. That doesn't mean she wants to run away, it
only means she wants to be where her person is.
She is also a serious player, adapting her play style to her
companion.
In the first video, BethAnn, who is a boxer cross, is playing in her natural way -- boxing! Victoria, the little red dog, has adapted to BethAnn's play style and gives as good as she gets. Both dogs are available for adoption December 2014.
In the video with Sasha, the Shepherd/Golden cross, Victoria switches to run/chase games.Shasha is also a rescue from a reservation and is available for adoption. He had 3 tick bites that got slightly infected and the vet shaved off some hair, but it will grow back!
A Red Lake litter of seven unwanted puppies went to a rescue in the metro and got to visit Santa!
This litter came in on November 5th and spent only four days at the Red Lake Rosie's Rescue before going to the rescue.
Their mama Big Girl was spayed and returned home. Sadly, we report that Big Girl has been missing for the past few days at Circle Pines Housing! We sent out a search party but no trace of her was found. Call 218-268-4477 if you have any information about Big Girl of Circle Pines.

Athena arrived at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue with quills in her face. She was lucky to move to ACT V Rescue and Rehabilitation for foster care and medical treatment.
She lost her eye, but found an amazing dad who renamed her Abby!
This little kitten that we have named Endora was abandoned at the Red Lake garbage dump in a paper Pampers box. She is only two pounds and very lucky she did not freeze to death before she was rescued! We are grateful to ACT V for offering to take her in to foster care.

Sometimes it's just too much... This is Endora ~ she will arrive Wednesday. She was left in the dumpster in a paper box. She only weighs two pounds. Thank God for Red Lake Rosie's Rescue who saved her life and for Courtney B. who stepped up to take her on such short notice. Honestly, if the world only knew how much we love our foster families... they are unsurpassable. We have such respect for you and your level of dedication.
Endora arrived safely last night and was tucked in with Vicki for the evening. She's a busy little girl and likes to move! It won't be long before she's available for adoption. She'll move to her foster home once we coordinate with CB (her foster mom.)
Endora is doing well in her foster home. The resident cats have met her and so far so good. She is an absolute doll and her foster mom doesn't think she'll be fostering for very long...
