Bueno es Dios

We're back! The trip to Nicaragua was of course, amazing! We had beautiful weather, in the 80's & 90's, the entire time we were there. The kids were incredible! I had been to Nicaragua 2 years ago and we visited many of the same villages I had been to previously. It was really neat to see the kids and see how much they had grown in the last 2 years. We taught the Avalanche Ranch Vacation Bible School program to 3 villages while we were there. The kids loved all of the singing! They are precious and so excited about singing praises to The Lord! Here are a few videos of them singing::

We also taught about 10 volunteers from Nicaragua the program that we were using so they could continue to teach it to other children after we were gone. I love that we not only shared the gospel while we were there, but also enabled them to continue to share after we left. The trip was wonderful overall and I can't wait to go back next year!

Out of Order

Sorry. The blog is currently out of order.

Emily, who contributes 99.9% of the content of this blog, is currently in Nicaragua on a mission trip. Please keep her (and the whole group she's with) in your prayers!

Happy New Year!

I know I'm a little late, but I still wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! 2009 is off to a great start in the King household. The Christmas decorations are down, the house is cleaned up and the year is moving along nicely. Reed is enjoying his last few days of normal work before tax season officially starts.

It was tough to go back to school, but now that I'm back it's nice to be in a routine again. Bible study (BSF) started back last week for both Reed and I so that has helped us get our routines back in order. If anyone is looking for a Bible study, this is a GREAT one! We are studying the Life of Moses this year. ::shameless plug::

Our Sunday School class is really starting to take off as well. We have about 5-6 couples right now, but would LOVE to have more if anyone is looking for a church home. We are at Bluff Park United Methodist Church and our class is called Footsteps. You can look at our class blog for more information. Feel free to stop by one week, we'd love to have you! ::another shameless plug::

I am busy preparing lessons (which I should be doing now) for next week because I leave for Nicaragua on Saturday! I can't believe it's almost here! I'm sure I will have lots of pictures to post and tons of stories to share when I get back. It's amazing to see God at work in these small villages.

And last but not least, Melissa, Jonathan, Reed & I ran in the Red Nose Run on Saturday and had a great time!! It was a photo finish, but I beat Melissa by a few hundreds of a second. I had to push a man out of the way in order to do it, but we won't talk about that! All that matters is that I won!

As you can tell, there's not very much exciting news going on in our world, but it's a nice feeling just be calm.
